pirates using outlaw battles to keep traders safe

Recommended Posts

found pirates using cutters as their main and traders in their fleet. when we would get close to them to tag they would tag each other. as a result their traders wouldn't be brought into outlawbattle. this allows traders to have safe passage as long as they travel together. This needs to be hot fixed fast pls. it is a clear exploit. perhaps outlaw battles are a fun mechanic but just cant be allowed in game due to the nature of pirates to want to exploit

why remove? traders should just be brought into the battle.

they they will farm eachothers ai for pve marks. with no cannons

Honestly. AI are so stupid, even with cannons they are harmless. But with that said, thats a banable punishment, and the risk of someone such as yourself jumping in, reporting them, and them losing all their progress is pretty good. Just look at the pirates and french on eu at that port battle.

Pirates have no 1st rates BPs, while MUST participate in conquest due to the same need for the resources. This is a bigger exploit built into the game.
Having our traders saved is the only way we could stay competitive.
You can still farm traders from other nations.

while yall scream fowl about that you have to remember that you dont have to deal with some random pleb going around in a basic cutter tagging every ship they can outside of the safe zone for your starting area  so take it with a grain of salt.

Than sink them in the outlaw.....it will send them back to La Tort and they will never get any further.

this isn't about your troubles as a pirate. this is about wether or not this mechanic is being used as intended by the devs when they created it. and remember no one made you pick rat.

its about your troubles as a French?
So no 1st rate BP is OUR trouble. Denying your hunt for pirate traders is EXPLOIT? Well thought through! Well done you!

What is that supposed to mean? No one made you to pick French and dwell off griefing small ships. I thought that was pirate business lol.
More and more we nations acting like pirates and then complain that pirates like nation :D
Pirates are planned to be a unique group. The only "uniqueness" that we get so far is a 1st rate BP nerf and Green on Green. So much for the uniqueness if you ask me.
Yes we are using GnG to its full potential and that give us some degree of balancing lack of the most important BP in the game.

The ability to acquire a blueprint and permit is under review. Current implementation forces pirates to cooperate with national players which we don't yet know a good thing or a bad thing. Pirates can acquire the BPs using rogue friends in nations and this makes this feature fake.

The outlaw battle is for settling score between pirates - and does not pull NPCs in. Thus all fleet ships and trader ships are not going to be pulled into the battle.

LOL if you want punish Pirates for that and take away ability to make 1st rates just instant delete Pirate Faction because without 1st rates they would not be able to hold any 1st rate regions.

you seem to jump to conclusions a lot.
we are talking about the ability to acquire blueprints. which currently does not exist. .this is under review.

They don't have to hold 1st rate regions, do you know Pirates =/= Royal Navy ?

You just need to hold all the small islands North of Cuba and you should have all the resources available, if you want to sail 1st rates and participate into big fights, play a as National.

Can we just delete Pirate Nation and let people be pirates of the nation they choose. This way they can sail and assist their own nation and will also fight each other (British pirates vs Spanish pirates) if they want to. Pirates will be able to use Pirate hideouts (small ports that they can use as base of operation). Nations will have pirate ports such as Nassau (capital of British pirates and La Tortue - French pirate capital). British pirates for example will be able to live among British and use British resources and attack other nations.

Free Ports will be open to all pirates and GnG will be turned off.

Then pirates attack regions (conquest) they dont claim it for the nation, but get double rewards. That's it

Does this mean that pirate traders not pulled into outlaw battles will remain unchanged?

Being a scurvy pirate in favour of bottoming septic tanks, I give fair warning of screening pirate fleets appearing ghost like in front of enemy battle fleets. I will not be expecting me crew to be lynched again havin' given fair warning. I lives by the coded rule book, keep your honor for your own and I keeps mine.

I shall have my snot rag available for those in need.

Or make us Privateers with the ones not working with a current nation be the True Pirates (OUTLAWS).  Privateers (clans) can get contracts to work with a nation and join there battles and such.  Once they are off contract they can either be OUTLAWS until they get another or work for another nation or the same one if they prefer to stay there.  That way one week we could be working with the Spainish, the next we could be fighting them on the British side.   Or we can just say screw them both and kill them all.......

You ever sail past a lonely island or a cool inlet, and wonder what it would be like if the game let us build a "Pirate Den" there, like a small outpost?

I would love somewhere to hide my stolen ships and treasure - all the better if it's a hideout of one's own design!
