Constat:

- Fishing is a fake features. It gives empty bottle but the fish you get, you can more esaly buy directly the fish meat in port for 10 db or to a player fot 1 doublon

Solution :
- Make fish necessary to craft
- Make fishing harder

Proposal:
- You can't any more fish in all the ships. Just "fishing ships" are able to fish. Yes it need fishing ship to be add to the game but they were a big part of the ship in atlantica.
- Make area were fish are like there is event for pvp, make it fishing area where fishing ship can capture the exeptionnals fish
- Make fish necessary to get special crew. For example Marines eat exeptionnal fish every day on sea. If you failed to give meat to your marines the perish.
 

Why:
- Fishing is useless or necessary at all time. As it don't give malus to fish, all the ship should fish 100% of time
- It would be like in Archeage a real pvp area. not an area desing by god on a map but somewhere fish ship come to get exeptionnal ressources and with them their escort and the privateers trying to stole the ennemy ships to get their fish.

With a fishing boat you cant have fun. Who wants just to fish to keep his fightingship running? At the moment you can have both fishing and fighting.

Now dont get me wrong I love the idea of fishing boats. If people want to use them hey its more variety. However do you really wanna make it even harder to get any fighting going considering it would thin out the warships crowd?

You could buy a fishing license for a specific area for an hour or so. Then bloody NPC pirates will come and try to steal your fish.

It is of note that many sea rovers since the buccaneer age and throughout the 1812 war did indeed hit the white/fishing fleets :D taking very good proceedings, especially from fish oil - as valuable as petroleum is today... oh the irony B)

I agree with this part of the proposal.
Introducing fishing vessels to fish for example whales and cachalots (not sure that these animals were very popular in the Caribbean or less). But in any case such ships and trade were vital for its time; especially to extract the oil. Many frigates were sent right to capture the enemy whaling. Famous are the successes of Essex against english whalings.

In the game, players using ships to fish should obtain large sums of money from such fishing. Obviously it would create a nice hot zone in these areas (because some will be to hunt the whalers), which would give a little pepper to PvP (as you call it).

I strongly disagree instead of exceptional fish to be consumed at exceptionally upgrades, bonus, magical things or other crap. Fantasy.

PS: I catch myself every time how the person should seek imaginative solutions for imaginative bonus; with dynamics to more irrational; when in fact it would be enough to take inspiration from reality, making it simple and functional things.

Fishing becomes necessary to prepare expedition. So, a nation needs to have fishermen in its ranks to get enough food to be ready for exploration.

Moreover, fish and foods should have an expiration date ?

You mean the 15 VLTRA fleet sailing at 0-3 AM arround La Navasse and Jamaica?
