There is new resource Fine Fir.

Quantity | Buy price |
---------------------|
  1350 | 422 |
  1281 | 406 |
   104 | 342 |
----------------------
I think  it's very strange.
If more resources available then price must be low.

===ru===
Я думаю, что это неестественно.
Чем больше количество ресурса доступно, тем ниже должна быть цена.

It all should depend how many suppliers are listing such resources. If there are many they will start undercutting each other and yes price will go down. On the other hand, if resources are rare and supplied only by one trader then price will be high. I can list 10k of rare logs and they will cost a fortune if there is no competition.

For all the battles on land during the Napoleonic wars I never heard of shockwave killing people... What was the percentage of death by shockwave at sea? What kind of ball size did it involve?

A source to look at would be great. Thanks.

Supposedly one of Nelson's subordinates fell over dead after a near miss from a shot. Physicians generally believed that cannon shot could break bones and kill people without a mark. Of course, they also believed in spontaneous combustion and death from drinking cold water.

Even if a fatality like this was recorded in an authoritative way, the victim's body would have been tossed overboard before it could be examined. And there are plenty of logical explanations, including concussion or simple heart attack.

Sorry gamelabs but this patch will get me out of your game for a while.

EDIT: I will admit to have overreacted here a little. While my criticism is exactly where it was before and in the long run I will be back at my previous statement I ahve found a niche which will keep me palying for a while but it will def not keep me active forever and the feeling of being pretty much completely limited to it won't help with keepign me active either.

Trading with the ne weights and requirements/costs will become impossible to do in a decent time/payoff rate and with capitals not having missions for teleport anymore i cant afford to waste 30mins just to get to a teleport location. Game keeps requiring more and more ship movement and time to be invested for port battles and I simply can't keep up with that after 1000 hours anymore. On the big scale --> see you when stuff changes, on the small i might occasionally sit in a free port and try get a quick fight but I bought this game for fleet battles primarily in 1st rates and that doesn't seem to be a customer base you like...

I don't understand.

How trading and weights are related for fleet battles in 1st rates. If you actively pvp/pve in first rates you usually have no problems with money.

Basically if you say trading and weights became harder - you are mistaken. It became more varied and provide more opportunities.

PVP/PVE in first rates was always too profitable. For making money on production - here is the tip - craft carriages. Millions and millions of profit.

In terms of nerfing fleet battles i don't even understand where you are getting this. New port battles and hostility will actually create MORE opportunities for fleet battles.

Technically it will drop from:

Compass wood is no longer a separate resource. Compass wood (curved trees) can drop from any forest during wood production. Fine logs (e.g. fine oak) will drop some times when growing trees in forests.

P.S.>Grow trees.

Well shockwaves CAN kill. A 500lb bomb going off is going to kill someone 20 feet away regardless of shrapnel right? It's "over pressure"....the air gets compressed and hits so hard that it smooshes (medical term) your internal organs.

But the issue is whether a cannon ball can create enough overpressure. I would doubt a ball simply passing by would...I just don't see how. But a ball striking something releases a lot of energy which would make a shockwave. Still not sure if it's enough. I'm not a physicist but I just can't see it

If cannonballs flying by was enough, then soldiers in land battles would die left and right from near misses. I've never heard that being the case...at least without the guy touching the cannonball itself.

I like the fact that splinters kill....not so sure about shockwaves

Well if we agree that shockwaves CAN kill then we are halfway there. A 500lb bomb going off is going to kill someone 20 feet away regardless of shrapnel right? It's "over pressure"....the air gets compressed and hits so hard that it smooshes (medical term) your internal organs.

When my ship exploded next to my Santisima it killed 3/4 of my crew just by a shock wave from explosion. So, I think it existed long time before this patch.

It will be fixed tomorrow. They are tuning calculations.

Then just pick BOTH perks....

So...

Pirate Perk +0.5kn

Frigate Master +0.5kn & +2.5% dps

PP is 1 point more expensive. Umm.. ?

How many points you have?

How many points is the Pirate?

How many points is the Frigate Master?

It will be fixed tomorrow. They are tuning calculations.

The thing what we have now, is broken.  So if they did internal testing, and...  Well, I really hope "tuning calculations" will be enough, but...

You know, before the patch, grapes were killing way too many men.  Now the balls are killing multiple times what grapes were killing.  So..  Hoping pretty big tuning here.

Why not allow to craft it with 1 dura? Where's the point?

Waste of writing and testing a bunch of new code that won't be used in the finished game.

Didnt had the time to read through everything, but in case it didnt get mentioned:

The Indefatigable is currently able to carry 44x 42pd Carronades.

I dont think thats intended and the lower deck should be restricted to cannons only. Other than that a nice Ship :)

I prefer the Endymion tho

Tag a fleet ? Im one ship i cant tag a fleet.the circle is so big it encompasses a fleet with what i tag.

Agreed - the pull circle seems awfully big. The first smuggler I attacked very nearly included 6 other ships. Well, I say ships but some may have been fleets that would've brought a crap-ton of complication into the battle. Fortunately they were *just* out of range.

Word of warning. If you want to attack one ship, make sure it is NOWHERE near any others. Makes attacking in fog very problematic as you may be pulling ships you can't even see.

This was intended IIRC, as the point of the new ROE was to allow everyone who was in the vicinity of the battle to participate in it since the two-minute timer was done away with, with the caveat that the farther away they were the farther they would need to sail to reach the belligerents.

Two seperate points my apologies for not being clear enough.

Trading: the current weight would require hours and hours of moving stuff - I have 47k live oak in Carlisle - how shall I move that while still living a real life..., 2. example: I picked up a trade quest - 1500 historical artifacts to KPR --> they weigh 250 per unit = 375000tons / by an average of 5500 for an Indiaman = roughly 68 trips - it according to the map tool sold at tumbado which would be at the min a 1 hour sail that has to be done 136 times - 136hours at perfect conditions is something that I can not afford

First rates: 1. Trying to limit their amounts will lose you a lot of palyers who consider them their favourite ships!

2. Without a teleport we need players to escort us to missions far away for teleports (lets say SLM - 20mins-30mins). More and more time involved just to get to places we want to actually be. While I udnerstand this that sailing includes a lot of looking at the blue I see no point in wasting hour over hour gettin to points with nothing happening when I could jsut as well jsut sit on my real life boat to do that (I'd even have to manage her ergo not boring). In addition the current rate at which regions are changed I'd probably not be in the region in time to partake in anything especially if I end up having to work logner one day and not be around to keep up with the main fleet.

Additional: Money: I personally ahve no problem with that and I'm not entirely sure where you took that from but I believe the current wieght of trading goods will render certain cargo jsut impractical and cause money problems for small scale traders - I have for example absolutely no clue what a starter on a trader lynx would load up right now - def no wood types and we need those. Also the current redistribution of resources will cause massive money differences and balance problems on the map and in fights.

At Chancellorsville, during the American Civil War, General Hooker was leaning against a wooden pillar that was struck by a cannon ball. Although shaken by the pillar clunking him, he was certainly not killed by a 'pressure wave' from the ball.

I wanna say, up to now, i like this patch very much !!

Especially trading and crafting gets completly different and looks much more interesting

I would say, dont listen to the naysayers who are everytime against every change but without a change they will also cry :P

The game gets much deeper because of your changes and this is always a good thing !!

Ofc some things have to get balanced and you will need the feedback from several weeks to find it...but time will tell

...look it this way: many people just cry because things are different as they are used too...and have to change their used habits

I would say up to now, good job Guys  :D
