Black Spawn
I recently started the topic [pictures] A complete guide to ship-skins but now i have reached some kind of image limit and cant finish what i started. Forum says: Sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to. Is there any way to up the limit for a single posts or insert some blank *reserved* postings in my name to work auround this and split the topic in multiple postings? Cheers in advance
SteelSandwich
common practise is to get a few comments with *reserved* under a topic just incase you are going to exceed the image limit. as far as my knowledge goes there is no way to up the limit itself. Skully
Keep in mind that picture that show up directly burn away browser memory real fast. This can become a problem on mobiles and tablets, ultimately also PCs.
Captain Boneboys
Your images are extremely expensive in terms of resources. 2560x1400 pixels + width 90.31 / height = 50,8 per CM (I checked only one). Change this to per inch, divide by 2 and save as a PNG file, quality loss is negligible. There may be a limit size imposed (attachments) but iirc there is some conflict with bbcode and IPB 3x (the forum being used). A Forum Guideline for acceptable image size would be useful. Might help, might not... Edited September 11, 2016 by Captain Boneboys
Ragor
(...) A Forum Guideline for acceptable image size would be useful. (...) Why? Most folks won't read it anyway. The year is 2007. Automatic re-scaling of pictures to the set resolutions defined by the sysadmin for any online board became the standard. No moderation needed and fool-proof for the needs any users.
