Some points will be re-worked before release, e.g. port battle/flag system will be changed as well as crafting/bp system. So there's maybe less waiting soon :)

he right on all points ....

u need to wait for all on this game

lock on other sandbox, u can get really fast in action

Players want reality thats the true Problems! if u want reality remove the 1+ durability for any ships, remove the fast travel on OW, remove the loly events, remove battlescreens or instants , remove anything wich has nothing to do with reality

then you have a game with 10 players

my reality is in front of the window and nowhere else

dont needed in games in there i will have fun

Sweetspot between playability and historical credibility is what is aimed for I think.

Maybe some of the waits posted are more player related than anything else, given most are war planning and others are "I want it now".

Mind you, no depreciative tone, but it is a way of looking at things.

I for one would like a complete revamp of the LH and get rid of them but turning to more realistic shipwrights system.

As it is a good group of crafters can pump ships fast on a regular basis making up for losses very easy.

I played top tier clan wars in that game you all love to despise for it's low-brow-kiddie-instant-gratification-non-stop-meaningless-PVP quality; WoT.

We waited so much during the campaign it killed the fun for many. After I got the prize tank I pretty much left the game alone and came to NA ;)

So, if that game has waiting...

Waiting is prolly the least of NA's challenges.

First person shooters have waiting because there is no strategic timing of moves. Anything the stops the action is waiting for it to start up again.

Strategic war games have "pre-planned moves" because the timing of a move is as important as the weapon you chose to bring. If you plan your sequence of moves well then there isn't as much waiting between the actions.

Example:

If you log into the game and decide you would like to do a port battle then you are simply at the mercy of the port timers and other players finishing what they were first doing. So you wait.

If you have pre-planned your day and coordinated with your team it goes more like this. Log in and knowing shallow water port battle takes place in 1.5 hours. Hop in Patrol ship at Plymouth and patrol Swedish waters. At the 1hour marks sail back to port, teleport to PB ship and sail to PB. Pre-plan farm production to end after nightly PB window. After PB farms are full so do transport runs. Not much waiting.

Wait for the traders/farmers waiting to fill their holds.

Nah, NA is okay. Is no different from doing a escort or bomb mission in il-2. Ingress takes time, small period of high intensity of combat, depending on opposition, regress takes time. Glad it is not an arena-only game.

I think it is safe to say this isn't cod or an arena game.

I was playing elite dangerous this weekend.  Man is there a ton of waiting while I fly to that solar system that is 1500ls away, and the speed is automatically controlled, so as you get closer to your destination (but still far away) it slows you down, causing the amount of time it takes to increase.  I would open up steam browser as I'd wait trying to learn more about the game.  Sound familiar?  Or man, Eve can take forever when you want to do tons of jumps.

Tonight I played 3 hours of naval action.  I was in battle for 2.5 hours.  When I play elite dangerous, I am in battle for maybe 10 minutes out of an hour?  So 3 hours would be maybe 30 minutes of combat.  Granted, I am a very green newbie at that game and don't really know how to play it.  Or look at No Man's Sky.  That's even less.

Or you can jump into WoWs and get tons of combat.  Different type of game.  Those above are OW sandboxes, which implies travel.

LOL!!!!!  where the hell you get that ? speak all you want boy...he is what we call a Debbie Downer

Fixed that for you.

As for the OP maybe all the waiting is good for the game.  Not every one wants a fast paced areana style games.  I do other things like watch TV and get stuff down during a lot of those wait times you speak of.  Maybe this game just isn't for you.  It's not made for every one. I can't stand the CoD arena style games. I have bought some when they use to have decent campanges with them, but after I beat that part I never really touch the multiplayer stuff.  Not every game is going to be for every player.
