Hotfix 9.92 - patch notes

What's new:

  • Small repair kit and small medical kit is added to loot tables
  • Sealed bottles can now be stacked

Fixed bugs:

  • Mixed decks (carronades + cannons) bug, causing guns shooting ball even if it had double shot loaded - fixed
  • NPC fleets did not lose durability when sank – fixed
  • Repair kits sometimes did not fix the NPC fleet ships – fixed
  • Mixed deck bug causing shorter distance on long guns fixed

Tunings:

  • 5X min BR difference for attack added back
  • Double shot penetration penalty removed
  • Double charge damage penalty removed
  • Carronade penetration drop reduced slightly
  • Cannons will be destroyed more often with raking fire
  • Fire chance lowered
  • HP for all rudders lowered by 20%
  • Determined defender lost free defend command
  • Salt requirement in food supplies lowered
  • Fish meat consumption in ports increased
  • Tobacco and sugar production prices lowered
  • Salt production increased

All seem solid fixes.

 

I am still bugged with this one:

​Would actually think that a well versed defender would organize defense better, at no cost, rather than forcing numbers, but okay.

 

Found only one player so far with this specific perk.

We got reports that it was actually was used by rage boarders a lot which was not the purpose of the perk 

i allowed them free defence and all other options as well.

The rudder should not have been touched its always copping a beating especially when the AI tower hits your boat full armor and the rudder goes.

Crew limit to boarding is an anti-game perk, not free defend. Still upset about that perk, that forbid 1v1 PvP. Those lasts days, I use to gank ppl 5v1, usually with a SoL in my group, just to pass by that crew limit to board. This is ridiculous: no challenge at all for us, frustrating our targets, but it's the only way to not get f*** by the yellow message "can't board lol, determined defender, gtfo"...

Nice fixes..defender perk should be lost if YOU board...methinks.

it was not a priority before

 

Was not until many iron consuming ports were changed when regional capitals increased and also i think the consumption amounts were much larger before patch 9.9.

Mine too - I've repaired it 7 times during a Battle vs. a NPC Pavel yesterday.

Anyway, I mostly like the fixes.

HP for all rudders lowered by 20%

My poor Essex, already loosing rudder each time a cutter sneezed around ...compared to my Frigate able to tank very well on rudder and rarely getting damaged there in comparison :/  Will see how it will be now but might be a bit too much 20% on all ships no matter the size/class of the ships.

Fish meat consumption in ports increased

Good thing, some were increased nicely, however some regional capitals previously consuming 48 per day consume now 72 only per 24h real time, won't make a big difference there.

 

Fishing quotas have to happen i guess or a aquatic genocide will kill any form of life under the waves of our small map, one good thing will be to remove AFK fishing and fishing in protected areas of capitals, i know one guy who makes 750k each day just with meat + around 15-20 rare fishes selling at 5k each bringing 100k more i nthe pocket at best, just staying idle at seas in the middle of nowhere when he's going for sleep, he had difficulties to sell his fish yesterday as all shops buying at 99 were full but he done this regularly until now.

 

And thanks for the cutters not be able to tag an entire fleet anyone , good fix. 

 

 

PS: is it normal that after capping a AI ship and selling it i get some crew from it ? if so , why no crew is given when simply breaking the ship instead of selling it ? Still testing this stuff but it's a bit unclear for now

Makes no sence for me. Defence isn't main rageboarder weapon. Attack is. I woner what other options is? Bc preventing from boardign you isn't best choice for rageboarder also, imo

Means you can keep building preparation with minor or none expenditure. Zero for defense and minor firepower while you build up attack prep.Can easily see this happening with some boarding combinations and massive morale bonus ( a ship can be pimped to 170 morale that's a LOT of prep bonus ).

I undestand about prep, while you use defend, but didn't get about 170 morale which is prep bonus? Is it not different things?

Nice Patch!  I am glad that the fires have been reduced.  Is there any consideration for reducing the cost of crew a small amount?

 

Please consider setting up an automatic removal of cannons and upgrades when setting up fleets.
