Sailing characteristics (for her sister-ship La Blonde)

 

9 1/2  - 10 knots close-hauled, 12,5 knots large, 10 knots wind on the beam. Very maneuverable, carried her sail very well and liked medium to heavy conditions, in light winds her sailing qualities were described as 'ordinary'.

 

 

Service History

 

Laid down 1827, launched 1829. Took part in the Battle of Vera Cruz under the command of the Prince de Joinville. Struck 1847.

I like it, but I have a feeling it will end up like Niagara if added to NA.

 

 

Maybe, maybe not :P

But La Créole is 25' longer than Niagara and was a proper sea-going vessel. And the 30-pound carronades could be 12-pounders ingame.

 

And no comments on the lack of bow-chasers yet? ;)

 

Ohhhhh yes.  Now THIS is something I could easily learn to love.

Hello,

yes, the la creole has been a very nice ship.
Therefore, for several years I build it a model in 1:48 scale

btw there is a very good model of La Créole in the German Museum for Technology in Berlin. Perhaps I will be able to post pictures.
