I was wondering if Denmark is going to be in this game, Denmark was afterall one of the 5 biggest maritime nations during the 1700's and 1800's. Denmark has always been a maritime nation, often completely destroying our archrivals(Sweden) navy(Køge Bugt 1677, Öland 1676, Dynekilen 1716 etc.) Denmark has also always had some great admirals, like Niels Juel - Our greatest admiral. He invented the breakthrough tactic, a tactic which Horatio Nelson would use almost 150 years later.

And Denmark played a pretty big role in the Napoleonic Wars, so I was wondering if perhaps Denmark could be added to this game?

For historical ships in this timeline(1720-1820 from what I've heard), Denmark could perhaps have the Infoedsretten, a Danish third rate ship of the line famous from the battle of Copenhagen, 1801.

The Prinds Christian Frederik, was wrecked after the battle of Zealand Point while under the command of Carl Wilhelm Jessen. It was onboard this ship that the Danish naval hero Peter Willemoes died after getting shot in the head by a cannonball.

There are many more, like the flagships of Tordenskjold, Gyldenløve and Olfert Fischer.

Danish naval uniforms during the Napoleonic Wars were mostly red and blue, and the sailors wore a top hat. You can see the uniform on one of the sailors on the far right of this painting, and on the officer uniform on Peter Willemoes.

I'm quite sure Denmark will be in the game, yes. The developers released an image of the planned nations, which you can see here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/689-nations/?p=21637

However no ships have been announced for either Denmark, or Sweden yet sadly.

But If we can make suggestions, I'll put forth the Sophia Amalia. A 108-gun First Rate from 1650.

Apart from packing a punch, she was quite the looker:

The famous Trefoldigheden could perhaps then also be added - While not really having many cannons, it's such a famous ship(Well, atleast here in Denmark) that it should be added. Christianus Quintus, Niels Juels flagship during the battle of Køge Bay in 1677, could perhaps also be added.

I'll gladly support any of those ships.

And another important ship that could be considered is the Dannebroge, a First Rate from 1692 with 94 guns.

While It only saw action once, It single handedly held back the Swedish fleet, taking fire from at least 3 Ships of the Line at one point. Early in the engagement, the ship caught fire, and was ordered to drop anchor and keep firing. It did so until it exploded, killing all but 9 sailors aboard.

Like the other famous and important ships in the Dano-Norwegian Navy, It was very beautiful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJE5CbOu9b8

I really think that some ships like the ones suggested here, regardless of nationality, should be included in Naval Action. Unlike the Victory or the Constitution these ships had significant and beautiful ornamentation, and I believe they'd be truly stunning to pilot in NA.

Just take a look at the Sophia Amalia's stern:

Dannebroge would be really nice to see in this game, it was afterall on Dannebroge that the naval hero Ivar Huitfeldt died. And as you said - It was pretty beautiful.

Perhaps we could also see the Fredericus IV - A 110 gun ship of the line. While not as beautiful as any of the ships in this thread so far, it packed a devastating punch.

This was actually very surprising to me. I thought the Sophia Amalia was the largest ship in the Dano-Norwegian navy, but according to the Norwegian Wiki page, the Federicus IV was, when she was launched, the largest war ship in the world.

Very impressive indeed, sadly she never saw much combat. Nevertheless, she was still a lovely ship, and a great candidate for a Danish ship in NA.

You gotta have Denmark, didn't they whip the British fleet, march into London and install the current puppet Monarchy.

I think I read, somewhere their big ships had the advantage in shallow water and their wind powered sawmills could produce them more efficiently then the Brits or the French.

I think they did something like that in the Viking Age. But I've never heard of the Danish fleet straight up attacking London after the Viking Age.

It was less the ships, and more that they simply knew the waters. Whenever Sweden or Britain attacked Danish waters, they usually had some ships run aground.

the dutch where the ones with ships for more shallow waters since they had alot  of habours in cannels.

even uses some pontoons to lift biger ships out of the water even further.

cant find picture again its like this: midle is the ship do be raised  left and right are another hulls positioned next to it

then these hulls get flooded to lower them enough to push large beams through the lower gunports of the main ship.

then the 2 extra holes get the water pumped out and wola.

That would be the Dutch during the Anglo-Dutch wars, eventhough they didn't install any puppet monarchy AFAIK ^^
