Outposts: Costs and Limitations

After a fairly diligent search I could not find any posted answers to the following questions:

 

1.  How does the cost for the permit and outpost increase beyond the second one?  I currently have two and see that the permit cost for the third is 50,000, but I can't see the actual outpost cost.  Do they keep going up by the same increments (i.e., 25,000 for each additional permit) or do the costs increase or decrease?

 

2.  Other than cost, is there a fixed limit on how many outposts that you can have?

The max is 8 currently. I can't remember the exact pricing structure but I know that permit 6 is 250k, 7 is 500k, and the final one is a cool million. It's always 5k to close and 10k to open once the slots are available.

Also, if you abandon, the permit frees up so it's just 15K total to move an outpost.
