Royal Oak

74 Guns

HMS Royal Oak was a 74-gun third rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched on 13 November 1769 at Plymouth.

She fought at the Battle of the Chesapeake in 1781.

Royal Oak was converted for use as a prison ship in 1796, and was broken up in 1815.

Once devs start kickstarter ship packs you will be able to support your favorite ships and their development.

Can you explain what you mean by this? How it will work, are you kickstarting specific ships to be put into the game, or are you kickstarting specific ships to purchase?

Im intrigued.

nothing he meant there were sugestion to make kickstarter ship pack were a set of ships would be made if the goal is reached.

like an Spanish ship pack from 12gun to 110 gun Santa ana for example.

there is apsolutly nothing planned in that direction

PS:There seem to be some major differences between the stern design of the model and the plan. Not sure why because the model was actually named as HMS Canada.

I believe the Canada was the first ship of the so-called Canada Class of 74s (Captain was a Canada Class, IIRC). So maybe some Canada Classes are being mistaken with the Canada herself?

I have checked the stern designs of the rest of the Canada class ships but they are completely different.Maybe the modeler "abused" his artistic freedom and added more details.

the 64's at that time were more close to beeing a 4th rate than 3rd simply because of the development and shifting focus to the 74's with more heavyier armament.

wich includes 32's instead of 24's and the middle gundeck was depending if it was a Large or Common 74 (Bellona is a Common one) 24 pounders or 18 pounders

we will see Indefatigable in her Razee form hopefully soon do add more diversity to the heavy frigate choices
