XP trade?

Recommended Posts

This could be interesting idea:

Currently new players have to grind missions, small battles in order to gain exp.

But thats soo boring!!

Why higher rank players cant make some kind of xp market for newbies?

Lets say im a high rank player, yet im a big fan of port battles or privateering, and dont have much time for trade runs. Why i cant hire via special menu a newplayer, give him traders cutter with some gold and order him to get me 400 iron and 400 coal in 2 days?

For completing such mission i can give him some of my experience points. Why not? from one nice battle with players or npcs i can get more then 400xp.

Also this can be used for clan members, boosting their progression at cost of higher level players experience.

I imagine this as a stand-alone menu with some sort of jobs contracts.

Players can create contracts choosing one of few activities: scout prices, buy goods, escort a trader, get a sertain stats ship, huntdown X amount of players or exact player. Then you chose the reward (your xp, money, goods or even a ship) and provide instruments for completing such task: sertain amount of gold, if u want employee to buy goods for you or ship if thats an escort or fighting mission.

later on i see much more usage for such "exp trading" like player created missions:

for example some nation clan got tired of pirates regulary raiding their trade lines, lets hire a newbie, so he can be a bait for local pirates and lead them into trap. That would be so awesome mechanics.

To avoid exploiting - set a limit. Of such missions per game session or day.

First of all let me just say that I do not agree with the OP's suggestion at all. I do think that everyone should do the grind, but not for the 'I had to do so should everybody else' point of view. That has never been a good reason to do anything... ever. No, the reason i think everyone should do the grind is because it is an important tool in learning the game and the experience gained from doing it inevitably proves to be invaluable.

I said it once I will say it a hundred times more. As long as you have trade XP or eco XP - sure. But as is now, XP is strictly battle XP. And I see no reason why traders would get to get batter at battles.

More XP = sailing bigger ships in battle. Trade has nothing to do with that.

I don't mind the grind realy, if it would have a bit more variety it would be nice, some different mission types, 1 - 2 extra ships per class. Now that the prices of snow's etc... have dropped alot, i take a bit more risk in my snow. I think the XP trade will cause exploits, and would be unfair towards players that are not in a clan or don't have a high tier friend. They might just add a bit of spice to the grinding, so it has a bit of diversity to not make it feel like a grind. Like in Dayz you have high tier loot everybody wants, but there is alot of fun to be had with the many lower tier stuff, you don't mind the long hours you put in to get what you want to have. And don't even mind doing it all again when you die...

Well core of that idea is that actually players have interface to create profitable missions for other players!

So u can finally be a freelancer, cruising your privateer, doing some random jobs for other people around the carribean. Or you can role play as fancy trader or governor, who personally participates only in big action, yet he needs lots of little work to be gone... preferably cheap, and he dont wanna risk his loyal men :D

However, in order for this to work, you must surrender a valuable reward. In my opinion - the best rewarding for such missions - experience. Nevertheless, to such missions is not abused by the players, mission contract autor donates a portion of his experience as a reward for employee.
