  2. Greetings from Military Gamers! This is an official recruitment post for MilitaryGamers.com, the world's premier multi-platform, multi-game online community for US military service members. We're always looking for men and women to join our ranks who have either served in the past, or who are still presently serving, in any branch of the United States Armed Forces. If you would like to learn more about our community, or if you would like to register an account and become a member, please head over to our website at www.militarygamers.com. All recruitment is handled via our website. Once you've registered an account and have become a member, you will find information on our forums instructing you on how to join us in game. About MilitaryGamers.com Our members hail from every branch of the US military, nearly every occupational specialty, all rates and ranks, from E-1 through O-6, and from duty stations and their homes the world over. We have had a game branch (cabal, clan, corporation, fleet, guild, organization, society, squadron, unit, etc.) in nearly every major game title since 2007, where we have established a solid, respected name for ourselves. With thousands of members spread across countless games, we think you'll find that we're the last gaming community you'll ever need to join! Things You Will Find in the Military Gamers Community Camaraderie, esprit de corps, professionalism, a relaxed, casual atmosphere, and most importantly, folks who "get it". As our motto, "Tantum Nos Teneo", states, "Only We Know". Things You Won't Find in the Military Gamers Community Within the MilitaryGamers.com community, you will not find any "realism" units or the like. If that's what you're looking for, please look elsewhere. We do not simulate a military environment or organization. We don't have to. We've all "been there, done that". You won't find any phony rank structures or titles being worn by people who haven't earned the right to be addressed as such. We do organize our community staff, and occasionally some game branches using generic military titles, such as "MG CO", "MG XO", "MG Officer", "MG NCO", etc., because it is familiar to us and identifies who's running what within the community. These titles, however, do not magically bestow anyone with the right to expect anyone else to treat them as anything other than an equal. We have members from all walks of life, all branches of the service, and of all rates, ranks, statuses, and vocations, and when they cross our doorstep, everyone is treated with equal courtesy and respect. Within the MilitaryGamers.com community you will not find any puffed-up "internet commandos" or teenage "squeekers" giving you orders. Everyone is 18 or older. About Our Naval Action Branch We play as the Pirates on the War (Caribbean) server and our members proudly wear the "[MG]" tags. Our community is very active in Naval Action; we hunt together, craft together, and most importantly, help each other get the most out of the game!

  5. Hello! I'm mostly a guy from the Reddit Community, (great group) but it's been suggested that I should post about my series' here as well. In fairness, I'd like to be more active in the UGCW community generally...so - let's jump in. I've got two series running at the moment, both Major General Difficulty, one Union and one Confederate. I try to upload one for each about once a week (generally Wednesdays), but sometimes life interferes and I don't do any, and other times I see a lull at work and I'll post three in a weekend! Union CSA Generally speaking, my composition is somewhere above Minimal, and I play with what I term the "Mixed Order" composition. I try to grow my maximum unit size in a slow sustainable manner using Raw Recruits as often as possible, and exclusively when practicable. I use Raw Recruits up until one of the following happens. Adding an additional raw-recruit would drop a star I've reached the maximum authorized strength of a BDE at that phase of the war. And, I try to build "balanced" Divisions which have one Veteran unit and several lesser units, though as you go on and all your units have 1 star, "Veteran" starts to take on a new meaning. I use Pandakraut's wonderful UI modification, which does mean that the "large unit" debuff to efficiency is not present (which honestly helps the enemy more than me...2950 man BDE's at Chancellorsville...shudder). *** The over-commentary is as often about what's happening in the battle at a Tactical or Operational level as it is about something completely random in the context of that battle, military history generally or my favorite authors about the subject. The entire commentary track is written with a new player's view in mind, and these videos are intended to function as a walk-through for *possible* ways to approach these battles and do well. Anyway, that's enough pre-amble. I hope you guys enjoy what you see, and I'd love to engage. Best Fiasco.
  6. Returning player! Was on the American faction a year ago, ran with a smaller group. Reasonable level of experience up to 2nd rates at the time. Fairly rusty, relearning game from scratch. Currently leveling a British captain but given my US west coast timezone I'm also willing to reroll American again if need be. I play generously in weekday evenings and every other weekend. I'll be staying on the PvP server, but a PvP-oriented group is not required. Thanks!
  7. Hello Naval Action Captains, I am proposing adding in the USS Ohio circa 1820 which from what has been agreed on is the cutoff year for Naval Action with the addition of the Mercury. The USS Ohio has quite a service history for the United States as a SoL (Ship of the Line) and quite honestly is likely the single best SoL the United States ever made. USS Ohio History: Laid Down - 1817 @ New York Naval Yard Launched - May 30th 1820 Spent her early years in "ordinary" "refitted" for service in 1838 when she was needed, and served as the US Flagship to the Mediterranean for 2 years Went back to Boston for "ordinary" in 1840 Recommissioned in 1846 in the US - Mexico war assisting in the Siege of Vera Cruz, her guns were deployed and 336 of her crew were sent on the Tuxpan River Expedition. Shortly after the war with Mexico she was sent to the Pacific to keep order off California during the gold rush. She returned to Boston one last time in 1850, and served as a receiving ship until 1875. She was placed in "ordinary" for the last time in 1883, and was sold off. During her "breaking up" she refused to die, she broke from her mooring during a storm and became stranded. She was subsequently burned to the waterline and portions of her hull remain scattered and buried underneath the mud to this day (the shipwreck site is well documented). Armament as best replicated: 90 guns total 2 x 32lb Cannons Fore No guns Aft (Only windows) 24 x 42lb Carronades (Spar Deck) 32 x 32lb Cannons (Gun Deck) 32 x 42lb Cannons (Lower Deck) Standard Crew Compliment: 840 Men & Officers Why the USS Ohio (1820) aka Ohio II? The USS Ohio is regarded by many US Naval Historians as one of the most beautiful sailing warships ever afloat at the time of her launching. On top of that naval records and journals indicate she was an absolutely superb ship to sail constantly doing better than 12 knots and handling very much like a frigate, this information is extremely well documented. While she was built along side her sister ships she was designed slightly differently and to date is still regarded as the best SoL the United States had ever built, despite not seeing much action, even though she did see action in the Mexican-American war. Her armament is quite impressive to say the least, that is a LOT of 32 and 42lb guns, and for her sailing characteristics this makes her a very very formidable ship despite being on 104 guns when compared to the larger ships like the HMS Victory and the Santisima Trinidad's ridiculous amount of guns. Strong Armor, excellent sailing characteristics, powerful armament, this is what makes a good SoL, and I believe she has a place in Naval Action as there are no US SoL's and not many can either fit the timeline or were just poor performers. Historical Pictures: Artist Rendition of USS Ohio SoL (1820) "2 old salts" on the USS Ohio circa 1870 USS Ohio as a receiving ship in Boston circa 1870 USS Ohio (far right) in Boston photo circa 1870's Original Cedar "Hercules" figurehead from the USS Ohio on display today Stephen Myatts near 100% accurate (painstakingly recreated from historical documentation) model of the SoL USS Ohio (Left Side) Stephen Myatts near 100% accurate (painstakingly recreated from historical documentation) model of the SoL USS Ohio (Fore) Documented Sources: Naval Historical Foundation Nav Source Online (historical photos only) 3 Decks Naval Warfare History Wikipedia USS Ohio 1820 (GENERAL HISTORICAL INFORMATION ONLY) *NOTE: I would like to point out that the original naval register for her initial gun complement has yet to surface on the internet, I have heard that the US Navy does have some historical documents that can be requested at a cost (unsure of the cost) however this information has not been entirely verified. The gun compliment while being based on the 1837 public register does fit with the period that Naval Action is in, there are NO EXPLODING SHELL CANNONS on her as of 1837, these were traditional round shot cannons, the documentation is there to prove it. "NOPE IT'S OUT OF DATE" - Then remove the Mercury, this launched on the same year, month and within 11 DAYS of the launch of the Russian Brig Mercury, your arguement is invalid. "Can't fit 1837 guns on a 1820's ship, it's out of the timeline" - as long as they are the same guns that are limited in Naval Action and are the front loading, and fire only traditional round shot you can, and circa 1837 she was fitted for exactly that, and ONLY that. The only reason she has no earlier documentation is that she was in "ordinary" until she was needed to be sailed. Again argument invalid. Yes she pushes the limits of the timeline, no argument there, however she does meet all the requirements and in my honest opinion she would make an excellent addition to the game.
  8. The American Outlaws (TAO) is recruiting players of all skills and ranks. From PVP seekers to simple Traders. We at TAO put out focus on the needs of the player and not the needs of the nation. We do not take part in any diplomacy that is made by the ELITIST players and clans of the US nation. Our goal is to give the player who are tired of being told they can't do something because they aren't big enough. Those who are tired of your voice not being heard. We are a home for those who wish to fly solo but don't want to be dragged into the mess of joining the "ruling clans" of the nation for support when needed. TAO is a new clan in the sea of many. What makes us different is our approach to dealing with other clans and our motto "TAO first, TAO last, TAO always". Meaning we only focus on our needs and not the needs of others. We use discord for in game communication and the mobile app BAND for outside game discussion and for any important topics. This allows ALL MEMBERS to voice there opinion regardless if they have the ability to be online. *UPDATE* TAO has become the fastest growing clan with in the US nation this has allowed us to become a major player within US politics. To join message me in game sounthernrebel78(Leader) or Echo5Tango (2nd in Command), Grommet (3rd in command) TAO has become such a strong and powerful player with in the US nation that it has threated NPG's hold as leader of the US Nation.

  10. Oxford Dictionary As per the tribunal rules outlined in the topic, griefing is a tribunal offence. Charge: Players from the US nation has repeatedly and intentionally been raising hostility in the region of Georgia with the explicit intention of setting port battles at times that for the defenders, danish players, are in the middle of the night on weekdays. This is intended to force Danish defenders to stay up for what is for us the middle of the night and mount a defense The US players then do not show up to the attack, or shows up in a very small number of fast ships with the express intention of wasting the time of the entire defensive force. This is textbook griefing. It is an intentional waste of other players time and an intentional sabotage of the game. With accompanying mockery and harassment in the battle chat and global chat. It causes great dissatisfaction amongst the defenders who have to stay up to mount a defense and yet do not get a fight, wasting hours of their time for nothing. This charge and proof addresses specifically the port "battle" that happened in Savannah on January the 11th. Proof of intention: Only four players showed up to the beginning of the fight, in fast ships to run away and waste our time. There was no screening mounted outside by the defenders that could explain the absence of more attackers. No attempt was ever made in the course of the battle by the attackers to fight or get any points. They were running away from the beginning, but refusing to leave the battle to let it end, wasting more time.
  11. Yesterday upon the stair(Port Morant - Carlisle) I met a man(French, Danes) who wasn't there(hiding in battle results/logging off) He wasn't there again today(randomly people from yesterday log in and pop out around the port) I wish, I wish he'd go away(or start playing an actual PvP game instead of using this exploit) The British nation would appreciate if the ganker fleets in the area of Carlisle would not use the battle result hiding exploits to end the night of PvP after a single attack. If you're short on time Jamaica is the wrong place for an attack and if you're afraid to lose your ship the same applies. Especially a fleet of 22 should not be afraid to actually go for a genuine fight which could've provided everyone with a lot of fun. Personally I see no fun/challenge in ganking but if you do it please be ready to face all repercussions that may come upon you instead of wasting everybody's time and fun after jumping a little clanless cerberus with 22 ships. As far as I and those I can vouch for are concerned we will not be backing away from a fight that we brought on our own and will now be attacking your homeports with fair fights. Please consider doing the same in the interest of a fun game for all. A little further warning: It has come to our attention that some smaller ganking fleets now actively search for an ai ship close to KPR to create such battle result screen situation. WIth the intention of this being the last action of the night they apparently log off so they can have an invisible fleet ready to attack in the early afternoon near our homeports. This goes beyond merely trying to save one's hide and is in my/our eyes an unacceptable misuse of the mechanic. We've started to collect evidence on this and should this behaviour not rapidly disappear I will launch a tribunal about this! To the devs: Please consider reworking the battle result screen asap as it currently proofs to be an exploited hassle for all fair playing folk around the isle and surely in other places as well. P.S.: I used the words 'the British nation' as a lot of people are seriously unhappy about this. Should you however take offense to me representing you here just substitue this for my own persona. Also this is a somewhat serious topic - have fun discussing it but serious forum pvp as some practice it is not desired here! Keep it civil everybody! For those who liked the poem: Antigonish - William Hughes Mearns Yesterday upon the stair I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish, I wish he'd go away When I came home last night at three The man was waiting there for me But when I looked around the hall I couldn't see him there at all! Go away, go away, don't you come back anymore! Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door Last night I saw upon the stair A little man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today Oh, how I wish he'd go away

  14. [WBK] Waffle Brigade USA - PVP1 ts10.gameservers.com:9176 The Waffle Brigade is a multi-game clan that is based in Naval Action on EU PVP1 - USA Nation. We also play World of Warships on the North American server. We are recruiting mature players who are looking to strive towards the creation of a fleet and logistical network that would permit us to exhibit naval supremacy in the US Sphere of Influence. We are a fairly lax clan in rules and restrictions, and are looking for casual and veteran players who are willing to work with us as a team. We actively work to recruit new players and get them into better ships. We also work to improve players crafting skills. We are a mostly American clan that is interested in recruiting players from all time zones! Our home port is Cayo del Anclote on the West Coast of Florida, and we operate our logistics and crafting out of the surrounding cities. We operate for PVP out of Key West, sometimes operating out of Cayo Romano and Tumbado when the situation calls for it. We move with the front, and do our best to support the war effort. The Waffle Brigade is a proud member of the American Council. Rules for joining:We do not make a habit of recruiting people under 18, and the vast majority of our population is over 25. Some exceptions may be made to this restriction. We do not tolerate drama. We joke around and have fun, but we expect out members to be respectful to their fellow clan-mates and to everyone else. Follow the rules of the game. If you find a broken mechanic, report it. Do not do anything that intentionally hinders the ability of your clanmates, the clan, or the nation as a whole to operate. How to join:Message me on these forums or in game. Join our TeamSpeak 3 server: ts10.gameservers.com:9176 Officers:Clan Leader: EricKilla Executive Officers: Psycophantic, Hotrodcar Officers: Certified2Fly, Doubleyuno, JamesMaize Any of these people will be able to help you if you have questions about the clan or are looking to join. Why are you called Waffle Brigade? No one really knows why, but the prevailing theories are as follows:It is rumored that the original founders of the clan used to beat their foes to death with Portable Waffle Irons. The founder was really fond of Waffles. The founder worked at a Waffle House, and really hated IHOP. The clan was named after a stuffed fox that belonged to a WarGaming NA employee. Equally disputed is the origin of the 'K' in the clan tag:It stands for "Kickassery". It stands for "Killer". The clan tag [WB] was already taken, and so the founder put a random character in the tag. Either way, one thing stands true: We are part of a complete breakfast, and we are damn proud of it. Join us today in our fight to restore America to her former glory! For Freedom and Liberty!
