  1. Suggestion with example: when T is used(depower) at full sails and the ship goes to dead slow and T is pressed again (bring back staysails) the ship will still have squaresails at dead slow but staysails are at full sails configuration. Double tap T will hoist staysails of the current sail configuration Currrent ingame example: At Full sails 100% you press T (removing staysails) and you go to dead slow 20% (square sails) and you press T again (hoist staysails) you only get the dead slow staysails 20%. Regarding my suggestion: At Full sails 100% you press T (removing staysails) and you go to dead slow 20% (square sails )and you press T again (hoist staysails) you get the full staysails 100%. At Full 100% sails you press T (removing staysails) and you go to dead slow 20% (square sails) and you double tap T again (hoist staysails) you get the dead slow staysails 20%. Its just a small feature for more sail area control Pros: more sail control Cons: sometimes more clicking
  2. I have not seen this been posted about before so i am making a new thread! I ranked up to captain yestarday and bought a 5th rate Suprise ship. But i cant use it and i have no idea why. You can select it under the "home" tab, but the stats of it does not show up on the right side of the ship selection bar. You can go in under equipment and put guns and upgrades and everything on the boat. BUT i cant set sail. The green Sail button just wont work. I have sent multiple reports about it. And i have seen a lot of other players talk about it in the chat. Is there any solution to this problem?? As u can see on the pictures i have the Suprise selected but the game shows the stats of my frig instead.
  3. These two sail settings give the same speed running with the wind: Is that correct for the fore/aft ships in game? I ask because bermuda rigged modern sailboats get a little extra speed out of splitting the sails to maximize the "barn door" effect, with or without a spinnaker... or so I'm led to believe.
  4. Hello all, Does anyone know if the devs have implemented, or intend to implement storm damage in both the open world and battles. If not, here are my suggestions on how it could be implemented: - Using too much sail in storms can result in damage to the sails (e.g tears and rips) and damage to the rigging (e.g de-masting). This would encourage more careful use of sails and manoeuvres in battles and, perhaps, bring more in-depth sail control to the open world. - When vessels are healing over intensely, due to using too much sail, or when you face larger waves at a dodgy angle (e.g side on) they could be flooded, using a mechanic similar to how leaks work in game. - Reckless sailing in storms should, perhaps, result in you losing crew. - All this would be more relevant if the weather, sea conditions; time and setting in the battle instances match the conditions in the area of the OW where you have joined the battle. -Some kind of damage should be implemented in the OW too, because it would mean having more detailed sailing control and, perhaps, having to stay in port until a storm passes if you feel nervous about entering one. What are everyone's views, opinions and ideas on storms and storm damage?
  5. Dear Developers, One of the great mistakes of many games as they grow from alpha to beta to full release is the simple of beauty, of well, simplicity. Yes, the game may be stark and rustic with a gigantic hour glass on the loading screen and the stark lobby, but please, I beseech you all, do not lose the things that make this game great at the beta stage. So many games try to prolong the life by making progression longer, they try to change the way we play mid game release, realize it was horrible, but are too arrogant to see they made a mistake and change it, *cough* War Thunder. The wonderful way people feel accomplishment from finally getting 30.000 damage and getting that Snow without having to pay for it with in-game money or some other form of research. In some ways the stark and bleak manner of the lobby without all the lackluster makes it easier to access and figure out. Yes, maybe a tutorial would be nice, but just simply jumping into a game via one click, notifying people via the Global Chat that a game is starting is just amazing no matter how primitive the stage of the game. I can't give too many specific examples, but if any of you guys out there have played games from their beginning to the later release stages, you will know what I speak of. It just simply isn't the same when the devs try to add content or pizzaz or lackluster, instead of fluidity of gameplay, balancing, model fixes, and bug fixing. So, inconclusion, what I really want to leave you developers with, is that never be too arrogant to admit your mistakes and revert to the old ways, never stop fixing technical issues and start thinking that shoving content down our mouths will satisfy us, and finally just remember the old ways, the ways that made us, the beginning followers fall in love with you game. -Vizeadmiral Isaak der große des Shiffes "Frederick II"
