Ok so i have a issue that happened at 9/15/2017. I lost my first 1st rate(l'ocean) and i feel very happy and sad from what happened. It was very funny lol but i lost my ship due to it capsizing and taking in a lot of water. If the devs could give me my l'ocean back. it had all long cannons and 4 read 64 carronades. And cart clauk refit. Please see this.
My favourite tactic against light vessels like cutters is ramming them, and then turning them upside down But is this realistic? Would you really be able to ram ships, then grind your way onto their stern, and then tip them over? And even if it is realistic, is it fair? I have rammed countless people now, and it seems they find it unfair, sinking their ship just by ramming them. Is this supposed to change? maybe damage models for ramming, like breaking through the targets side or something, but not starting a ship-sumo-war. Jasper PS: I tried to place the photo in the post, but i kept getting: "you are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." So I placed it in the attached files. But now it is really small so if you want to see it bigger go to the imgur page: http://imgur.com/MChFXve
Hello all, first post. I just had a game where, after an intense battle between my NavyBrig and another ship of the same type, we had a collision. I intentionally rammed him, as a last effort to provoke damage and sink him. Problem is that I didn't think to survive since my ship was battered and damaged while his had almost full frontal armor. Now, how does RAM mechanics work ? Since we both had the same ship, and he had more armor than me, shouldn't he survive the crash and I sink ? Why did this happen ? Thank you in advance,
I was in my Santissima last night in a PVP game with just a couple of SOL the rest being frigs and lighter ships. Captain Chromey was my counterpart on the opposite team and it looked to being a nice balanced knife edge fight. However one of the brig players (Captain Black Harwood?) from the opposite team rammed three of our ships including my Santi, I had to use a repair or sail the entire game without my bowsprit and also had to switch to repair mode to control some leaks. Later in the same game a surprise rammed my ship and 'remained in a ramming full sail position' which prevented me from turning which in turn prevented me from turning my stern away from enemy ships who badly raked me. My questions are these. Should a brig of any tonnage survive 3 full speed rams against larger ships and actually cause a leak on the Santissima ? Is a ram to prevent a ship manouvring a valid realistic tactic ? atm we have no after match effect so sink or swim we have no bad effects from suicidal manouvres. I hope that losing your ship and crew/officers is something to be avoided at all costs in the final release game.
