  1. Hey guys We all know the problem, you have a nice portbattle and want to have a nice fight and then one side joines with too many requins and has to play for points, boring right? Let's search for a solution and suggest it to @admin My suggestion: Don't allow 6th and 7th rates in deepwater portbattles. Easy as that. (exception mortar brigs) What do you think?

    RvR Suggestions

    Hey, I thought I put some work into that and collect/suggest different changes to RvR to make it interesting and not a pain again. Hostilitymissions and how they should change The portbattle itself and the reward and why it should feature a instant reward Ports and their Management The port costs and timers The use of ports and connection to crafting Hostilitymissions and how they should change Hostilitymissions are good right now when it comes to distance to port, defenderadvantage etc. What is bad about them is that they take a shit ton of time. In short there is a table I made: 1st rate BR 560 Time for 1 mission 25 1st rate sank = 3% Right now Suggestion Port BR Hostility 1 mission Normal Groupsize in PB Needed Hostility Missions needed for PB group Time needed in minutes Needed Hostility Missions needed for PB group Missions at same time Time needed in minutes 2640 4480 8 18667 4,17 125 8000 1,79 0,8 55,80 5380 5600 14 ? ? ? 18000 2,30 1,4 57,40 10560 5600 21 ? ? ? 28000 2,38 2,1 59,52 So in my oppinion it should take 1 hour for a portbattlegroup to flip a port. Within 1 hour it is possible for a defender to defend the port. A big group can probably instaflip ports again but only the lower BR ports. 2. The portbattle itself and the reward and why it should feature a instant reward Doing a portbattle should give a instant reward to reward players instantly for being active in the game (and winning). However this should not be Victorymarks but it should be chests. Different chests should get into the game, not weighting much where you can loot stuff. These chests should be dependend on how much BR you sank in the PB. BR levels: 2000 BR sank Chest with Gold 4000 BR sank Chest with Gold and frigatenote maybe 8000 BR sank Chest with Gold and 4th/3rd rate note 12000 BR sank Chest with Gold and 2nd rate note 16000 BR sank Chest with Gold and Victorymark, 1st rate note and Paint This means 5 different chests with different levels of loot from. (Devs probably know better what should be inside the chests) Why BR sank? To fight a bit against damagefarming or organized prtbattles etc. For good rewards you need to sink a lot of ships. The best chests will only be available if a lot of ships sank. Rewards should go to both sides of the battle. The winner already gets the port itself. 3. Ports and their management Ports lack some management options right now. You should be able to not only give up a port but to transfer ownership to another clan You should be able to get a few of the ressouces that this port drops only for your clan Or you should be able to lock it for your clan and friendly clans for a payment of 500.000 gold a day Also a specialization of the port would be nice. Trading (more tradinggoods) Crafting (bonus to RNG look below) Labor (Reduced labor hour costs) 4. Port costs and timers Are fine right now in my oppinion. Timer cost a lot and that goes both ways. It’s fine. 5. The use of ports and connection to crafting Right now a lot of ports don’t give you anything so in my oppinion new modifiers to craftingRNG should be added. Right now there are a lot of refits that only drop from capping AI ships. They should be tied to ports that have no meaning right now. (And they should be nerfed, Pirate rig and carta) Also the port should be able to specialize in something. The owning clan should be able to set a specialization of shipbuilding (Fast, sturdy, Crew) Both only give a bigger chance than crafting in the safezone. There should not be a chance higher than 30% for both specializations so safezone crafting is still efficient aswell. Why? To not make it necessary to own them for portbattles or something else. I think these changes would benefit the current RvR a lot while not making it necessary to play RvR. edit 12.04.2018 6. Let changing a timer take 2 maintenances Right now you can change a timer if you know your enemy is preparing for a attack the next day. This shouldn't be possible that fast. Better: Timerchange happens on monday with VM mark giveaway. If you cap a port you can set a timer next maintenance 7. Different paints for different nations Only a bit connected to RvR but it allways bothers me that every ship looks the same and only the flag is different. In my oppinion every nation should have a different default paintjob making battles far more immersive in my oppinion. Bernadottes post of a statisfaction system of ports connected to hostility needed etc. for a port: 8. more taxes Repairing in port should go to the clan owning the port Crafting (the gold you pay) should go to the clan owning the port 9. Most of our members origin from the same named clan on a different game featuring action on the seas, first being only two of us who rejoined Naval Action, the enthusiasm for the game spread quickly and we got ten people buying the game by entertaining them in long and hilarious evenings. You could perhaps even do away with all the random capture points as result of predictable winds making several points little to obnoxious, instead permitting capture of port after demolition of fort which anchors attackers so that they don't always start upwind, and successful defense so long as fort isn't taking damage. You could perhaps even make the whole thing zen by requiring that certain amount of damage is produced against the fort depending on enemy fleet size as apposed to defending fleet size (by cannon poundage), which means you don't need to go as clan somewhere just because you have to and be there for that same reason- in a clan. In small enough port (that is small winds) you could probably could disturb first rate enough that he would fail. It sure enough could still lead to attackers trolling defenders, but I trust you could come up with some math that would ensure that theres equalibrium with variables like firepower involved and such. In addition instead of hostility system you could require that fort is rebuilt requiring resources proportionate to amount of pounds of cast iron demolition took, requiring that there's also a fleet of indymans somewhere nearby lest defenders chose to regroup and kill of defenders with indyman having to travel through battle instance towards the port. I suppose that with supplies required to solidate capture of fort trolling defenders becomes less so practical but a timer could still be required unless you want to let defenders build up the fort again to which only requires that you check back in every so often in case some lonewolf did decide that he would both destroy the fort and bring the supplies to actually capture the fort. Either way necessity to escort a trade vessel requires frigates either in screening fleet/convoy or in actual port battle instances. Reference to sailing physics and winds come from first several sentences of this post.

    CORE BATTLE FLEET

    Dear Devs and Community, After watching and re-watching the "Diplomacy Summit Stream", a few points caught my interest. One of these points in particular was raised by [EDR] Keirrip in regards to main fleets being entirely/partially screened from Port Battles in turn denying the player base the option to participate (or contest) in RvR. While I feel the owness should be on the attacker to make maximal effort to "win the day", I do believe that their is an issue in the game that allows smaller groups of frigates to engage considerably larger fleets of larger warships. My proposed Idea: CORE BATTLE FLEET COMMANDER FLAG - Purchasable In Port, allows designated commander the ability to nominate 15 Warships as "CORE" giving them immunity from tagging. THEORY: Two core battle fleets sail from neutral ports to the attacked port, the CORE fleets head straight to the port whilst the "Non CORE" fleet units must attempt to brave a potential blockade of screeners. Such tactics could be used like Counter Screening a Screening Fleet, Deploying Decoy Fleet units (Like awarded expendable Aggies etc.) to draw screeners etc. N/B- There would obviously have to be BR adjustments before this could be possible and Defenders could no longer sail from within the "Attacked" port THIS IS JUST AN (NOT FINISHED) IDEA AND I WOULD WELCOME ALL SUGGESTIONS Kind Regards,

    3rd rates instead of 4th rates in PB's

    I think the normal portbattles would be alot better if there were 3rd rates fighting instead of 4th rates. Portbattles are a big deal and the 4th rates seem too puny for a PB. 3rd rates would make things alot more interesting because it would make lines and communication a bit more important in my opinion. It would also make the game more fun I believe considering most players prefer battling in great Bellonas and 3rd rates and not connies and ingermanlands. There used to be alot of these 3rd rate battles in the past when everyone didn't have a 1st rate, and people seemed to enjoy those battles. Anyways these are just my thoughts on the subject so let me know what you think.
  8. Sons Of Liberty I am now no long playing on pvp2 and i will be joining pvp1 PVP2 is not longer interesting to me in my opinion.
