Patrol Zone Bug
--Privateer-- posted a topic in SupportI started a battle in the patrol zone vs an elite ai + fleet, and it was not a patrol zone battle when I entered. All of the AIs fleet was in the battle and there was no boundary circle. I submitted a bug report. The ship I was in sunk, because there were a bunch of elite ai that should not have been there, and I would like it back. I have a video of the battle if needed, but I would rather not upload it at the moment, hopefully the information in the bug report is sufficient.
Is it possible to increase the size of the patrol zone? Many times I've discovered and tracked NPCs too close to the edge of the zone and ran out of space to engage it for the combat medal rewards offered inside. Increasing the size will at least give more time to catchup, tag and engage the AI ships.
Since different Patrol zones have different limits on what rates are allowed I have failed to find any way in the game to clearly see the difference except for going to the zone, attacking an npc or player and seeing if you get "the circle." I could just be blind and someone can steer me to the right place to find this information. nonetheless, I'd LOVE if the patrol zone mission had an indicator of what "type" it is. For example, the Nassau Patrol zone has a battle rating of 1,000 BR, but it has no indicator of what ships are limited to joining unless you look at the map and go "oh, it's in the shallows, must be shallow water ships. Other examples are the La Mona and Leogane Patrol zones which are limited to 4th rates as the biggest ships that can participate, and the Antilles Patrol which has no limitations. But I see no visual indicator showing you those limitations unless you've experienced it already. If the Mission could show what ship rates are limited, or the Patrol Zone Map indicator also show it (with the damage counter for example), that would be incredible. I still think there are some kinks with the Patrol zone that should be worked out, but I think this would be a huge Quality of Life change in helping certain Patrol Zones be more popular.
Voting for the next patrol zone area
Liq posted a topic in Current Feature Improvement SuggestionsNo, this thread is not about complaining about the RoE of the patrol zones. Instead, I had the following idea: Let players ingame vote for the next patrol zone area (the following day) and the ship rate allowed. E.g. Vote for a patrol zone, for example hispanola channel. Then vote for the allowed ship rate (1st - 7th rates) Benefit: more variety Con: dev time
Suggested Patrol Zone Update
Sverne posted a topic in Current Feature Improvement SuggestionsI propose that we open up all patrol zones every day. This would allow players who don't want to sink millions into ships to participate in patrol zone combat daily. I also think it would bring more players over to the pvp side.
Pimp my Patrol
z4ys posted a topic in Current Feature Improvement SuggestionsThe suggestion: Admiralty offers every player for the duration of a week 3 event vessels of 2 different rates ( rates and vessels are RNG but for all players the same) for free To Devs: Some time ago a rework of the Redeem function was announced, implementation could be achieved through a new tab like "Weekly Event redeem" Details: Every player receives 3 ships out of 2 different rates. The ships are equal for all players Wood,build-ins are determined by admiralty perma mods cant be equiped only certain books are allowed claimed or unclaimed ships get deleted after their event week to make room for the next 3 ships Those ships are called for example "Event Cerberus" (they cannot enter pbs, but have normal RoE and can be used in OW) They cannot be captured or used as fleet can not be traded Event ships have reduced pve reward in order to guide players towards pvp *edit* How outfitting with determined books could work: Pros: reducing fear of loss guide players to all kind of different ships they normally wouldnt use reducing fear of loss give access to ships even for casuals all players become competitive by giving them "equal equipment" skill matters Cons: Could be used to troll people because free ship - but kind of same like ow captured AI ships and quantity is limited to 3 each week for every account. /discuss
Patrol Area Ship Ratings
Tom Farseer posted a question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&ACan anyone give me a definitive list of which Patrol Missions are frigates only? I read in Global chat several times that La Mona was supposed to be frigates only. Seeing as I just got sunk by DreamMaker in his Aggy (good mast sniper, that one...), this obviously isn't the case. PS: Edited for spelling.
