I tried to join a Nassau PZ fight by reinforcing the weak side; In this case joining russians being ganked by brits. I guess not many people do try to join the weak side but I'm sure it must happen from time to time when people try to help their friends. The error message is one thing. This can't be the real explanation(?) as I was in a renom. I went into the russian join circle but couldn't click in. Some guy in global chat suggested that a DA-NO guy had joined the brit side and thereby blocking other DA-NO's from joining the opposite side. What is it that I don't understand here?
Quick Poll on the Patrol Zone RoE. I like the general idea of the event zones. Players looking to PvP can fight each other. But I dont like how they're implemented. For example - you find yourself a decent frigate fight, say 2 vs 3. Can't believe your luck and are all excited. Only to find out, that 20 minutes into the fight, heavy reinforcments are coming in, until the BR is filled - can be like 10 4th rates or whatever. Do you like it as it is? Hence my suggestion: All battles in the zone first stay open for 3 minutes (?) for anyone to join, no BR restrictions That way you cannot get locked out of a Battle just because you were a tad outside the tagging circle in OW After those 2 minutes, Players can join each sides until it has reached 1.5x (?) the BR of the other side. Just watched Cpt. Reverse's stream - He found himself a surprise duel vs. a pirate. 10 minutes later, he got reinforcments of 4 ships (5th and 4th rates) on his side. I do not think they should have been allowed to join that battle.
I think we should limit the missions to certain ranks (maybe the first 3) then only new/inexperienced players get to have safe missions. That way every mission in or out of the reinforcement zone could be closed instantly. Everyone else can take their chance in the OW, there's plenty of ai fleets out there if you need to PVE
So i wan't to bring in my thought about the discussion floating around considering portbattles consisting only 3rd-1st rate ships, and also bring some usefullness to the frigates by capping the ammount of high rated ships that can enter portbattles. Also this would be historically more acurate than having fleet full of top rated ships... I would suggest that players need to first of all unlock the slots for top rated ships to be even used for portbattles, blockading the port, donating resources to the national admirality or some other actions maybe. By doing these things you would then slowly open up slots to bring top rated ships to the battle. Otherwise you would only be able to take frigates. And i would like this to be an effort that players cant fill easily! Also i would limit it to somewhat like this 1-2 First rates maximum per battle, 1-3 Second rates, 2-4 Third rates. And i would never allow the maximum numbers of top rates, but some balanced combination of my examples. Like in example only 6 top rated ships could be brought to the battle, then debending on what the team has done it would build a composition like this: 1*1st + 1*2nd + 4*3rd or 0*1st + 3*2nd + 3*rd. This just game in to my mind, don't rake me for my suggestion!
