    tutorial bug

    Just had a go at the tutorial. Got stuck on the 'grape' section. Told me to load grape, but wouldn't load it
  2. So. I knew Grape-Shot was kinda strong at the moment, so i thought i'd had to test how far i could go. Was spying in my cutter in enemy waters, when i got pulled into combat. An inger and me vs. a Spanish Bucentaure. The Inger just stayed on range and chained the buc, so i thought that was my chance to get on the buc's stern and take it down. After an hour of constant manouvering i had killed 449 Crew off that buc by simply shooting it's stern with basic 4pdr grape shots. At this point, the Buc. decided to run. Now I'm asking myself, is that supposed to be THIS effective? I can not imagine that in reality a cutter would have been able to deal this severe damage to the buccentaure with his 4pdr cannons.. Discuss please =)
  3. So, I had a chance to put the grape shot to the test, and it seems to be working well. I see that with the Mercury without bulwarks along the side, sweeping grape just over top works well. I was able to drop the Mercury to 0 crew after repeated applications of "A whiff of grape." At which point, the Mercury was considered "captured" even with boarding disabled. I was indeed in possession of the Mercury after the battle, and sold it for scrap. In this same battle was a Trader's Brig. I was unable to drop it below 6 crew (10%). As such, it would not strike to me, so I had to see to sinking it. At the end of the battle, I got some sort of "Common" upgrade. Now, the questions: 1. Is this working as intended? IE - Should warships be able to be dropped to 0% crew? Should trading vessels be unable to be dropped beyond 10% of crew? 2. When capturing the Mercury, should there have only been the one "common" upgrade out of it? (If it even came from that, it could well have come from the trader's brig.) 3. When the trader's brig popped a repair, no crew was recovered. Is this acting as expected? 4. When the Mercury was above 0% crew, but even in the sub-10% range, it was still firing at its regular brisk speed, turning as normal, and adjusting sails as normal. Is this acting as intended? Edit: This test with grape was done on 7/17/15 at approx 2200 EST, with that patch version. There was a bug report (F11) sent as well at the time.
