I would like an open discussion to see where Individuals, Clans, and Nations are as far as diplomacy goes for after the port wipe. There has been a lot of bad blood and alot of personal attacks and it has created a lot of poison and made the game toxic (at times). While there are other nations with their own diplomacy stuff to consider, I will start with my own (personal) stance. US, GB, VP, and Pirates. Its a vicious war and I have no qualms with continuing it. BUT not to the point where pirates take a capital or the pirates capital is taken (no nation will be able to resist Pirate Immunity, it will be a bum rush). This is because that will force the pirates into an alliance thus breaking what it means to be a pirate. Whether they cap or are capped the end result is the same. Additionally, the loser can also abuse their alliance to join battles and take up spaces and troll etc. I am on the fence on what to do, I back GB's US alliance 100% and would not support any peace if it meant they fight alone, but I also do not want to see Pirate nation ruined by a bad mechanic. (Thank you devs, we all know you work hard and that this is not the final product and was the lesser of several evils given your constraints o7) War or Peace among nations, that's what this thread is for. Please post your thoughts for your nation and your allies/enemies. This is not a thread to formally agree to anything, just a way for us to brainstorm and get what we're always saying and thinking written formally down.

Greetings everyone, On behalf of the Navy Department and our senior officers, it gives me great pleasure to announce the formation of the Continental Navy, a PvP Clan operating on the PvP2 server. We are rapidly expanding, and focus on group actions, fleet battles, and are beginning our crafting and shipbuilding division as well. We welcome all loyal American officers fighting for the preservation of our great Republic in defense of freedom. It is our goal for not only the Caribbean coasts to be rid of pirates, but of all foreign powers as well. We use teamspeak in lieu of signal flags, which is our only other requirement. For more information, you may contact me here, or contact one of our other senior officers in game: El Capitano, Admiral Schilling, WIKIBONG, or Archimonday. -James Cornelius Captain, Continental Navy

I finally got around to posting the only ship of the line I will personally champion. Ladies, gentlemen, bastards, and wenches, I present to you: USS America Laid Down: May 1777 Launched: November 5, 1782 Builder: Colonel James Hackett Admiralty Model by: Robert Bruckner General Characteristics: Country of Origin: United States/13 Colonies Operators: United States, France Type: Ship of the Line Guns: 74 Crew: 626 Length: 182.5ft (55.63m) Beam: 50.5ft (15.39m) Draught: 23ft (7.01m) Displacement: 2,014 tons Speed: 12 knots Armament: 30 x 18-pounder guns 30 x 12-pounder guns 14 x 9-pounder guns (Source) Plans: History: There is, historically, very little information to be gleaned about the nation's very first ship of the line, other than what is readily available on Wikipedia and other public sources. The plans were obtained from Howard Chapelle's "The American Sailing Navy", and are available in my pinned thread American Ship Collection along with other ship drafts belonging to the Continental and American Navies. I'm going to extrapolate on why the armament of the USS America was so light compared to contemporary third rates of the era. I had given the idea in a previous post in the aforementioned thread that the guns for the USS America were probably obtained from the Continental Army after there was no longer a need for it (indeed the Continental Navy was shortly disbanded after the war and some of her armament may have come from ships that were sold off). It seemed my earlier hypothesis was a bit incorrect, as I assumed the guns available to the Continental Army were not much larger than 18-pounder guns. But I do believe that most of her armament, came from the Army, and not other ships in the Navy, though I have no sources to prove this. Little is gleaned of her history and armament after she was transferred to France. I wish her history was a bit more fleshed out and glorious than a trans-atlantic voyage to serve in the French Navy as a gift to replace the loss of Magnifique. Although there are other American ships of the line with longer service in the United States Navy that followed, I feel that their designs would be more out of place than the nation's first large warship. If the devs considered giving the US player base a ship of the line, I feel there is no better proposal.

United States Navy (PvP2)
(USNPVP2) Myndphreak posted a topic in Guilds, Clans and Trading companies
Hey all! We have a brand new United States clan on PvP 2 called the "United States Navy" (USN). We are growing by about 10 members a day and are willing to help every single member who joins in any way we can. Our primary focus as a clan is to eventually start capturing all major ports along Florida's coastline, the Bahamas and north eastern parts of Cuba. Once we gain a significant chunk of territory, we will shift our focus into trade and exploration of ports along the South American Coastlines. All players, new or experienced, are welcome to join! Send me a message in game on PvP server 2 or reply with your characters name here so I can send you an invite!
