The oldest members still playing have been in the squadron almost long as the Society has existed. We are naval enthusiasts, gamers, keen role-players and above all passionate patriots. We will in-game play our parts with good natured professionalism, ruthlessness and chivalry. All qualities that we admire in people who may wish to join this growing Squadron. Our squadron is built on the principles and traditions of the Royal Navy. Our inspiration is of Britain's long naval history, great naval heroes and the doctrine in which they lead their men and fought their battles. The Squadron was founded in February 2004 by 6 original members who met of the forums for the game Pirates of the Burning Sea. From the start they decided to build a small guild of friends rather than a large super guild. It was decided to base the Squadron on the sprit of the Nelson era as this was a time of courage, honor and allowed captains a level of initiative not seen in the rigid battle lines of the earlier period. When new players join the game for the first time, they are presented with the choice of nations to select from. At this point they are informed some nations are harder than others, and there are hints about who is fighting who. This information is inaccurate and very misleading - and really needs to change to reflect what is going on with each server. It is also a prime chance to help balance nations going forward with incentives for players to join nations needing new recruits. Back when I first joined, I selected the Pirates as I expected it to be hard - only to find the Pirates ruled most of the map - and I rerolled within a few weeks to France.

The French nation in PVP2 are looking for players to help bring up our active player numbers. We are an extremely friendly bunch who are always willing to help a fellow country mate out. We'd appreciate anyone who would like to join the French ranks, doesn't matter what clan you join, there are some good ones, and we all help each other out.
