So i ve been leveling my avatar with combat missions (as it is common) and i managed to get to 5th rates. I know basic and some advanced tactics in battle but when it comes to balance of the missions, AI gets a stupid amount of "help" in order to fight back the human. I had cases of me haveing a snow (6th rate) and a triple (3) armada of snows apear in battle as within the level of my mission guessed i could take em head on... well that was not the case. other time had my Cerberus (5th rate) and a frigate fully armed with carronades and stuff got my hull breached like a swiss cheese. Even with a pal i found to help me we totaly got owned (he had a cerberus too). i find this extremely hard for a new or even a somewhat experienced player to deal with such early firepower and hull to get through.. Dont get me wrong the first levels are easy but when i went to second and first lieutenent i had really bad spawns (i dont know if they are fixed or random spanws but thats what i had to fight) anyway hope you guys get what i mean, good luck and keep up the good work!

I am levelling a character but yesterday, when I reached the limit of 3000xp (BTW I did it with the travel XP) instead of getting the new rank, I kept the old one with the indication "XP to next rank 3004/3000". I will check today if it is fixed, but I wanted to highlight this weird bug that occurred yesterday (and maybe ask if you can fix it)

I like the introduction of the 'Honour Kill' system, but like many I think the release version should be modified somewhat. What is an Honourable kill.= Destroying or otherwise doing the most 'damage' to a ship of equal or greater strength. Suggestion. Long Term. The ship you are sailing should be of a suitable Rate to your RANK. The targeted ship should be of an equal or higher rating than the SHIP you are sailing. In order for suitable ships to be available for this task, I believe at least 1 basic recipe ship should be available for each Rate. Players should have the option of using this basic recipe ship or a special drop recipe ship if they can build or have one built for them to use. Temporary fix current build. If insufficient rated ships are available in game to test this theory, then there are a few ways this can be rectified. 1) Provide a basic quality redeemable ship at each rank advancement of a suitable type per character. 2) Temporarily move a ship into the basic recipe tree so that it can be built by more crafter's on reaching crafting level 'x'. 3) Allow undermanned ships of a higher rate to be able to accrue honor kills. (eg undermanned 74 instead of Constitution)

Most Nations of the Era also used this system or one extremely close. I get a twitch every time I see cutters, labelled 7th rates, or Brigs labelled 6th rates. Rated ships were 6th rates and larger and were 20+ gun Sloops/Corvettes of war/small light frigates. Brigs etc were unrated, but for gaming purposes you could argue extending the rating system to 7 and above could work, but in my honest opinion 6th Rates should be correct to history and game-play allows 7th rates and higher. Perhaps something along these lines. (Note this also roughly matches the rank advancement in steps for like for like ship progression) 1st Rate 2nd Rate 3rd rate 4th Rate 5th Rate 6th Rate <400 tonne un-rated vessel 7th Rate <250 tonne un-rated vessel 8th Rate <150 tonne un-rated vessel 9th Rate Royal Navy rating system in force during the Napoleonic Wars[edit] The chart corrupted in my post so include the link below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rating_system_of_the_Royal_Navy
