  1. Hello good people, I'm going to be brief this time, because I'm preparing a super-post of suggestions on the subject of modifications on the boats... I recently realized that the real HMS Victory has changed its color to a little more clear. Not the one of its majestic black lines, but the one of its "yellow" lines/stripes as well as the embrasures and portholes of the cannons (to a lighter and brighter red color) as you can see in this video: The change of color of the lines caused a stir in the English population, because they liked the previous one, but many researchers say that they have changed it because that is how historically Horatio Nelson and his shipmates of the 19th century saw it. As in reality, in the game there will be people among you who would prefer to have their Victory with the yellow lines (as it is now), or rather, a kind of light salmon, terracotta off or a bit pink, as you prefer. At pleasure of the one who pays it. (This is just a small suggestion/example of ship skins, thank you developers for your daily work) In the top side, the oldest/unrrealistic version. In the down side, the new/historical version. In the left side, the oldest/unrrealistic version. In the right side, the new/historical version. For those who want a trip inside the Victory, with its new colors:
  2. I asked this question some years ago now and never really got an accurate answer, I'm now wondering if any of the history buffs of these dear forums could expand upon what info I was offered. The Question: What first-rate ship of line sunk, then had it's cannon recovered and melted down? I've been reading about the HMS Victory (1737) found by Odyssey in the English channel, 2009. They found 42lb bronze cannon, the only existing cannon of this type on dry land. Though they mention another ship with similar ordnance that was recovered and melted down as scrap. discovery.com - "The site Odyssey has identified is one of only two first-rates whose ordnance has ever been located underwater. However, almost all of the bronze guns from the other site were melted down as scrap in the late 18th and 19th centuries." I want to know the name of the above mentioned ship and have read-up on several first-rates with similar cannon but none mention the fate of the cannon. Was it the HMS Royal George (1756), HMS Sovereign of the Seas or some other ship.... Can anyone fill me in here? Some updates since I asked the question: Now, I don't claim to know any more than you guys (In fact it's very likely, much less) but the quote states that the guns were melted down in the 18th century. This would rule out the Cambrian (wrecked in 1828) and probably the Queen Charlotte (sank on March 17, 1800) ... It also states the other ship was, like the Victory, a First-rate, ruling out the Colossus (third rate) & Invincible (1747) (third rate). "The wreck is one of only two first-rates whose ordnance has ever been located underwater, the other having been salvaged in the late 18th century. However, unfortunately almost all of the bronze guns from the other ship were melted down as scrap in the late 18th and 19th centuries. 3. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-30926084 Ladies and Gentlemen, here is a rather heart wrenching look into one of our favorite ships. But so it for a great and rather old titan. It is however an interesting look into the guts and under-skin of her. Here's hoping that they can get things taken care of.

If you get a chance take the tour, I did as a child and recently renewed acquaintance with this south coast landmark. There really isn't enough room to swing a 'cat in the quarters between cannon and only senior officers quarters of office size. The holds are massive and wheat and grain after drying was stored as ballast would you believe, also the reason they were overrun with rats on occasion! Feels great on board even in December 2009 when I took this. htttp://www.hms-victory.com/
