  1. At the moment open world battles are locked at the start to not exceed the higher battle rating. I am proposing a change that BOTH sides of the battle can escalate the battle to 1.5 times the lower br continuously This allows the battle to escalate from 300 vs 300 to a battle of 2000 vs 2000. Allowing each side to recieve reinforcements once they have lower BR. This allows the fight to stay competitive and involve more ppl and even discourages outright ganking. Any suggestions to build on this ides pls share
  2. Wanted to discuss the strength and damage rate or town forts after last nights embarassing debacle. On Tuesday The Spanish and French (25 ships ,1st-3rd rates)came to Kingston for a late night fight.Unfortunately England was only able to muster a small defence ,of mostly 4th-5th rate ships and 1 Black Painted Santisma.   3. My idea was about to add another gamemode seperately to the open world similar to what the game was like at Beta, because most of us are only interested in battle. What do I mean? Like when you enter the PVP2 server you will get to have two choises: campaign and battle. Campaign will be the open world as it is but battle will be the new system -no open world- and ranks but this won't be working by unlocking more crew space but by unlocking new SHIPS which you no more can lose!   4. Hi all, Just a thought here. Obviously, it is a good function of the game to represent the decreased effectiveness of a brigade when its commanding officer is killed or wounded. However, in battles that represent multi-day affairs, there is historical precedent to allow officers to be appointed to fill those positions.   5. To all captains of PVP2 server, PVP events are designed to bring people together and encourage fighting by providing rewards to top 10 captains on the list. As you all know our server is greatly suffers from loss of population. On top of that people do not show up to those events in fear to be ganged. The common believe will be that if I'm not surrounded by friends there is no way I could get a fair fight.   6. I noticed in battles, the battle screen map (M command) no longer shows the ship health when you click on a ship. Was this intentional or an accidental change?
  7. Can anybody tell me, where a Divisonsgeneral is in battle? In my campain i had a few wounded or killed divisonsgenerals...but how is that possible? Did they fight with my 1. Brigade or where?
  8. A suggestion: Three of the indicators in the battle screen are horizontal: the cannons, one's own life, and enemy's life. I would strongly suggest that all three of these indicators be set perpendicular, so that captains need not do mental gymnastics to translate which cannons are loaded, which side they need to defend, or which side of an enemy they need to attack.   9. For me pirates attacking each can be an exploit. The way i understand it is that Pirates are considered a nation of their own, and nationals attacking each other is penalized. The reason I find pirates attacking each other as an exploit, is because in certain circumstances, it can be used as an escape mechanism. I also find it unfair that pirates can attack each other without penalty, and is a privilege that is not extended to people of different nations. We can very well determine who we consider to be friendlies and who not. So let us just duke it out. The silly double Pirate joining circles would also be "fixed" then. It may only need a means to say, we are done battling. (And if Nationals join in, even better. )
  12. TL;DR Hard work and skill needs to be rewarded. Hearing reports of a British 6th rate fleet near Baxo Nuevo, I quickly readied my Suprise and set sail to intercept. With The Lone Wolf scouting out their movements I had no trouble lining myself up for the gank. There I was happily fighting along side some British flies. I almost had them, when I was forced into a surrender. Then gasp, only 16076 gold and 189 XP for such a good gank, fight and general entertainment?   13. Battle ready all the time? I rerally like this game, and the feel of sailing the carribean... however, there is one thing that it lacks.... the differenciation in ships appearance between open world and battle. In the open world have the impression, as if I always sail cleared for action. Gunbs ports are always open, cannons are run out, not boats are visible.... on the other hand huge bright firery lanterns are burning in the middle of an ship to ship engangement.!!??   14. A little while ago I accidently hit the small battle button (yes it was unintentional); before I had a chance to esc out of the small battle I was thrown into a battle. Finally I decided to out-run the attacker with hopes of escaping and ended up outside the engagement area and was program sunk. The button to escape or cancel the small battle seemed outside my screen area if there was one at all. As a result my new Bellona lost one of it's few durabilities. I have asked for the dura back and so far nothing; what am I missing?

Hi everyone, I don't know if this was just us, but we started a 200xp mission today and while the matchmaking worked well ( 6 players => about 12vs12 ships, a fair match ship-wise) the new damage system had some implications. 1) It is very hard to penetrate over long distances (which was the aim I guess) 2) Even at close range with an angle you barely penetrate These two issues have the following problem: The battles take FOREVER! Two of us had to leave because they didn't have enough time, the others fought for 1hour and 45Minutes (mind you, battle timer runs out at 1:30)

  18. This game in my opinion has an issue regarding port timers. In its current form a defender can simply set a window for times where the server has a low player count. With servers having such a large swing of players from down time to peak times this has created a situation where almost all port battles will be left to a small number of players around DT. Leaving most players to only spectating, opening the map when they log on to see what has changed on the map. I am sure this could be verified if devs have the ability to see when port battles have been fought which I am sure is the case. S
  19. Many people in the English Nation are getting dragged into battles by 'friendly' Basic Cutters attacking enemy PVP player fleets that vastly outnumber the Brit players that get dragged in. It is thought that the Danes and Pirates are using ALTs in British Basic Cutters to hang around areas where they can attack Danes or Pirate fleets, dragging in unsuspecting Brit players in the area into a battle where they are heavily outnumbered and CAN NOT CALL REINFORCMENTS. The usual deal is that it's a Basic Cutter, Midshipman, No Clan etc. This is happening very often and is becoming a pain
  20. Before the patch this was a problem, after the patch it seems to have gotten worse. Shoot an NPC ship to bare numbers: sails < 65%, crew < 10, hull < 50% and that ship can still turn fast through the wind out run me and has become nearly impossible to board. Last night, I was in a battle with a trader snow, had their sails down to 63%, hull was probably about 30%, crew was 2 and that ship was flying around as if it were 150% manned. Before the patch it would take me 30 to 40 minutes of careful chain shots and grape to get the ship to boarding stage. Last night I almost ran out

  23. Ahoy captains, I asked this question many time on the three different chats in game and I never received an answer. So I will try here. When in port, selected menu "equipment," on the up right corner of the UI there is a box, labelled "Upgrades." I noticed that I can see the upgrades I put there with any ship I am sailing. So my question is: if attacked and defeated, will I lose all the upgrades in this box? Or it is something like a safe where one can have easy access to many upgrades but cannot be plundered if defeated? I looked all over the forums but i couldn't find an answer. I hope
  24. Hi Developers, i realy like to thank you for the content already there.And i want suggest an endurance value for the crew while battle. I've done some sailing and i know how much force is nessesary to pull a full set sail through the wind. Same with set or shorten sails. To move the guns in wide angles and pull them out again isnt a walk either. I imaging a permanent regenerating endurance bar while combat. The more force a action needs the more endurance should be used. If endurence is consumed all actions should be slown down to the regenerationlevel of this particular crew. A bit like
  25. Awesome fight last night guys. Even though we lost it was a great experience. Next time SOL will not be fighting 2:1. Shout out to all the Brits that showed up.
