  2. Very Nice! I think you need to add more up/down/left right ship movement and it will be insanely realistic. Also, larger wake and waves that hit the ship! Great Work!

  5. Remember - Making it difficult to control will force players to quit. Game must have: Auto mode. Easy mode. Manual mode.
  6. 7 angles should be enough I think. At each angle player gets a little message next a wind/speed meter. Could be a little square that changes colors for each angle type. Example: Each angle (color square), can hold a % of a base ship speed. 80% - angle 1 70% - angle 2 60% - angle 3 50% - angle 4 40% - angle 5 30% - angle 6 20% - angle 7 So, if a player is at angle 1, green square color appears, (message says -press an assigned key once) to make a best possible tack/turn etc. if a player is at angle 7, red square color appears, (message says - press and hold assigned key for 5 sec.) Simply each angle has different key action assigned. I would only put 2-4 angles. Linked images under this post.
  7. Very nice! ---So, if I got 32 lbs on my ship it will take longer time for them to line up to get the max accuracy? (from full spread to 0 center spread). This means I will need to wait 5-10 more seconds compared to smaller guns, before I can order my crew to fire at optimal accuracy? ---Mortar shot will travel diagonal? so , this means we will need an aiming circle like in AC Black Flag? ---Where is a 100% accuracy on: Circle (determined by cannons) Ellipses (determined by gunpowder) is it a center of those 2? Circle (determined by cannons) - means the center of the circle is 100% accuracy and edge is 1%? same for Ellipse? or is it simply a cannon ball spread? Red aiming point, will it be added to a game? Current aiming is very unclear, it is hard to determine the distance to a ship and where am I aiming. Not sure how others feel about it, but I would like to see a marker or a pointer that can be aimed first. Using an aiming pointer I then wait for my guns to line up for max accuracy.
  8. Ship combat is ship combat, what else can I say? You focus on firing cannons and not running on the deck with a musket. I believe developer already said, there will be no sprinting on decks. They also have canister shot for killing crew. Not sure how far they want to push the game, but adding avatar on the deck will require a massive amount of work.
  9. That is so cool!! My soc also was created in POTBS, and now we play all games together as SnD (Seek and Destroy). lol...Our guys are waiting on this game to continue a fight on the open seas.
  10. It would be bad for a ship combat, but would be totally acceptable for land action.
  11. Great work guys, I will definitely spend more time on this one. One request: could you limit npcs sailing away from a battle into nowhere? It looks like when in battle they shoot,but tend to sail straight away from a battle and that makes battle useless. I had few cases where I had to chase some ships , so I can fire on them. That kept me away from a game. Other than that all seems to be normal for current lvl of the game. Can't wait to test this new patch!

  13. Check it out, Unity engine: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/#/content/14706 I say, simply hire that guy and let him design all land and game items for you, simply beautiful. I would buy a ship game with those textures asap.
  14. How about offline story mode? like bf4...other than that it is an online game...
  15. This might be an issue, 1. Name database will need to keep track of all names and remove those used, 2. Database will need to be constantly fueled with new names. (Players will be creating multiple accounts and or leaving accounts sit when they quit for some time, so those names will be taken forever) In this case 2 names must be used (like in POTBS avatar random name system), much easier to control.
  16. Well believe me, if you take that option away you will see 100s Victory rates in 1 battle which makes no sense. I believe you will leave a lot of players upset if you will not include name option, trust me...same names over and over again...boringgg.
  17. You should keep the real names , but add ability to change them as an option. Back then people named their ships the way they wanted, so why we can't name them the way we want them these days? In addition, if you want to add sail, flag, figurehead, cannons customization, this will not be the same looking ship anymore and will require a new name))) SO, its up to a player to decide if he wants to stay classic of go create a new looking ship with a new legendary name..!! In case someone names their ship XXPwnmasterXX, well this will only be visible if you get close to a ships stern and/or use a spy glass to read it. Ship name should not be stated in a ship info window (spyglass feature). I do not see a big issue here...
