  1. I like the idea of each nation being able to only build certain ship, but the current game is just too limited to make this happen. It's just not possible and will make certain nations lack any ability to fight. I've been of the opinion that when the game gets fleshed out more it would be nice the have each nation have their "own" 1st rate. Granted this contradicts my earlier statement, but could give each nation the flavor you seem to want without having to wait for it too long.
  2. I think the continued back and forth of when port timers are open to attack, and how we can't hit them at certain times due to pop really show that Port, Flags, and RvR in general still have a lot to be desired. I trust the developers to hopefully bring us some changes soon. In the meantime, if the Brits really want to put timers in the 14-16 slot all power to them, but remember the last time it happened we were able to power through with little to no British resistance.
  3. Very interesting! Good to here a detailed explanation on what to expect. I eagerly await the next few patches. Thank you for your continued involvement with us players throughout the who development process. Even if it becomes clear that sometimes we players make the wrong choices, we thank you for keeping us in the loop.
  4. (France) LBORK is staying, but the discussion to move to PvP1 after a port/asset wipe is open. Waiting for a Server merge seems to be the more viable option.
  5. Their reasoning to go to a larger server is a valid argument...but there were many other alternatives! As you say, Hispaniola was JUST becoming a battlefield, whether it's coincidence or not that the Brits decide to go to PvP1 (a few clans) still makes it seem like they are running away from the hard fight. I know a good few in Britain who are really good players and PvP well, but it saddens me to hear the cheap excuse of wanting to find PvP, when it's now right at their doorstep.
  6. Merging the Server after a wipe is a good idea in my book.
  7. I would love an overhaul to War and Peace mechanics. Being able to properly ally a nation and possibly having both nations help each other in the OW and Port Battles with more ease would be welcome addition.
  8. [LBORK] - Swedish Foreign Legion is behind this agreement 100%, we will add a personal "LBORK won't engage Danes or Swedes at all." We prefer to be as neutral as possible. We may be Swedes under the French flag, but we also respect the flag we fly under and will not cause trouble for the French as best as we can. That being said, if we are attacked we will defend ourselves.
  9. For the battle at St. John's against WIS I had personally expected more brits to be defending. Which is one of the reasons we brought such a large fleet to engage. The big push from SoH, SoB, WIS, and TCF into the Antilles suggested to us it would be a long drawn out fight. After this weekend though, we realized that it was not the case.
  10. What is next slamz? Oh great and glorious French leader. The Swedish Foreign Legion is here to help. Is our darkest hour yet to come? Or shall we find a way to make more enemies? I truly am interested in what you have planned for us.
  11. With the help from France of which I owe my thanks, we have driven the British from the Antilles for now. TCF and WIS made their ultimatum and we decided to slap it right back to them.
  12. I agree completely. I have also considered that the difficulty of a nation or possibly the population of a nation could also determine the xp/gold you get from missions and gold. I'm not saying that a huge pop would get reduced xp/gold from what we already get, rather a small nation like Denmark or Sweden (and to a lesser extent France and Dutch) should have bonuses on top of existing xp/gold gains. An exact number is not something I have, but twice the amount? three times? I think it would greatly encourage players to play the hard nations, or at the very least give incentive to the small nations to be able to go on par with the larger nations. They may have less players, but if you have better ships, it could certainly give some edge to the smaller group. I think others may agree but the fact that you can rush towers and auto win in a port battle to me, is wrong. You need to have some type of fight there for both sides. I understand the reasoning for the 2 to 1 BR since players went to the edge of the map in order to stop the assaulting team from winning, but they also reduced the map size once there is 15? minutes left. What if the map gradually just became smaller? or it was just smaller than an OW battle map? I think there are ways to make a "fight" have to happen in order to properly determine who won. If the attackers come with a force, and the defenders come with a defending force, there should be a fight. If making the map small so defenders can't just run and prolong the battle is the right way to do it, then so be it.
  13. Soul pretty much sums up our viewpoint of the history of what brought us here. I told the British (TCF and WIS), No British ports east of San Juan, and I'll give ports back to the Danes. Their response? To take San Juan. I'm done with talks. I was handing over Road Town to the Danes the day San Juan was taken. Here's the thing: TCF/WiS whoever you are, want Sweden to give up these ports to give the Danes and Brits resources they don't have in the area to properly supply all resources that a nation needs to fully function. The irony of this is that they completely ignore the fact that giving these ports up means the Swedes, a bigger nation with more players now, will not have the resources to "properly function." So taking San Juan took out the Swedish Stone/Silver port. With the Brits moving their port windows to a "wonderful" time I had to make a decision in order for Sweden to have the resources it needs to continue production. The consistent attacks from [CN] group of Danes and attacking our ports twice now has proven to me that I cannot willing give up ports to a nation that has time and time again shown they support a nation that actively is at war with Sweden. My agreement with Bjergsen, a Danish leader/diplo of [DNN], was to give Denmark Coral Bay and Road Town back on the agreement that the British forces who were here to "assist" Denmark would leave the area and stop attacking Swedish ports. With later thoughts to give Pasaje or another port back, AND i'd still be open to this agreement, but the Brits ruined it. From this moment, I and the Swedes will not give up ports until the British in the east have been driven back West of La Mona. My decision and thankfully agreements from my officers was a decision I did not like to make, but the "peace deal" the Brits wanted to offer that would lead to Sweden being crippled with less resources and in a more dire state than the less populated Danish nation and the aggression from the Danes (if only a few) led us to where we are now.
  14. I concur. The original post from Admin stated that some parts of the patch were still in development and may not come with this patch, but spoke that they would come in future patches. At this point when my friends ask what is coming in the patch, all I could confidently say is crew changes, after that I find myself constantly say "and this is probably coming, but I'm not sure...oh and that was said, but I'm also not sure" and "Blueprint changes I think, the devs said they are coming, but I don't know if it's this patch or the next." A clear post would do away with all the rumors and inform us of clear changes coming. That being said, I love that the developers have been extremely considerate of our feedback and take into account what we suggest and ask to be changed or added into the game.
  15. DEFENSE OF PASAJE #2. The Swedes first hard fought defense against a larger nation. Even numbers. Good fights, This was truly a fun fight for the Swedes.
  16. I do not know the remaining numbers of Danes left, but as Chet said, we could have some negotiations to keep the Denmark nation sustainable. Our intentions of capturing Danish ports was to secure resources that we do not have. When it was noticed that the British were also taking ports, we acted quickly to secure our border and subsequently the Danes lost more ports then I had originally planned.
  17. If the Dane's would seriously like to talk about port terms. Then I am open to talks. However, Information was given to me that states the Danes do not have enough players online at any time to successfully defend a port, nor even take a port. On the subject at hand, you are sailing in a warzone and in the Open World. If you do not want to get attacked, lose your ship, or be threatened, then I suggest you stay in port.
  18. we took the ports near our Capital, Every nation has done that. I don't find it aggressive, more expansionist. The battle with British fleets near aves was due to Roberts from SOB stating his intention of taking all our ports once they were done with the Pirates. The threat of British fleets in our water is something we take seriously and will spend every moment in eradicating hostile fleets within our borders. The continued expansion of Britain westward when they have a bigger threat to deal with is mind boggling to me. If the British don't want to create conflict with the Swedes, then stay East of San Juan.
  19. THIS JUST IN! A first hand account of the battles that took place Thursday night as some swedes and French attacked British players around the Danish capital
  20. I see this got ugly. well how about this. before the British (I guess we can call it just SoB, who cares) took frederickstad, they were sighted in danish waters. At this time the Swedes and Danes were friendly and we were notified of their arrival. the Swedish diplo at the time got on TS and talked with the Brits and Danes. the Brits told us they are going to take our ports to fight the Pirates so that they can get rid of the menace. We told the brits to buzz off, you're not taking a port without a fight. I'm sorry if it looks to you as though we declared war. How would it look to you to have a big enemy come into your territory and tell you "hey don't mind us, just taking your stuff to go get 'this guy.'" The Danes largely became inactive or left to other nations (it is said most went British) and boom. open land that no one is using anymore. Yeah, no. What may look like a declaration of war from the Swedes to you, was a direct response from the actions of your British countrymen to which the Swedes considered extremely hostile and therefore we must defend ourselves. Since then I have had my clan mates engage in battles where we were outnumbered and outgunned by the Brits.
  21. Seriously though. We won't tolerate this! The Swedes will fight with everything they've got to claim what is rightfully ours. the Swedes are united against a common foe, are you?
  22. Update to Sweden's Diplomatic views Sweden: Spain: Neutral British: War Dutch: Neutral US: Neutral French: Friendly Danmark-Norge: War Pirates: Neutral
  23. Happy to hear Brucy and his folks moving to the nations. Good luck in your future endeavors!
  24. I'll clarify what I said when I talked about starting a coalition to fight the Pirates. 1. This was before I ever became part of diplomacy for the Swedes, since then the people who tried creating it have gone afk or are not invested/interested in the game at this moment. 2. I thought I made it clear that before the Pirates ever amassed into a large force we did have intentions of helping the nations near us to get rid of them, when it was clear that those talks were breaking down, we decided it was in Sweden's own interest to make sure our borders were secure. Henceforth a Non-invasion pact with the Pirates. 3. The dutch made a clan that literally was "Fuck Sweden" and the French then said we betrayed them. Honestly, I wasn't part of these talks, but I don't take kindly to threats like this and I suppose the relations have been turned sour since then. A week later, the British (Mainly SOB) were sighted in Danish territory and only after asked why, did they start talking to us and the Danes about their intentions of taking ports from us to fight the Pirates. At this point is where I started joining the conversation between nations. The Swedes told SoB to screw off, and Roberts reply was that they were going to take every Swedish port we owned after they dealt with the Pirates. That threat made it clear we needed a friend that wasn't going to dissolve at first sight of a big enemy. We created a temporary truce with the Pirates, to rid the threat from our waters and as you can see the Brits are back home. To us, it's not trendy to say we are at war with the British and hostile with the French, it's the direction we chose to make. Actions DO speak louder than words, and all I can say is that I was not part of the coalition making, therefore I can't give you a clear comment of what happened then. Only what happened when the British came in and after. I had a fleet go south yesterday in the intentions to PvP against the Pirates, after a few minutes we couldn't find any pirate to fight. So my next line of thinking is to continue south to the French capital to see if we could fight a french force. Nothing there, and a couple pirates notified us that the action was further south towards Perdenales. So we went south and fought some French. I would not lie and say we aren't friendly with the Pirate groups south of us, we are relatively friendly with a few. After all, they have been the only one to honor a pact we've made, as opposed to other nations who have either threatened us, or accused us of backstabbing. To say we are fully allied though is not the truth, we constantly fight them throughout the day in OW PvP around Plymouth and the Pirates have made it clear to me they don't want anything of an alliance. On to why we haven't attacked a British port or fought them. We actually have come into conflict with a few clans north of Haiti and South of Haiti. We probably take a trip West every 3 days and see who's out there to fight. I have personally been in 3 fights west in the past week or so. 1. Went with a scouting force and got into contact with Roberts in a 3rd rate of his. We ended up capturing it and giving it to our highest ranked player at the time. (before the British took Frederikstad) 2. Went with a small force to the north side of Haiti and fought the MT6 (Meme Team 6) clan. outnumbered, we were handily defeated. Props to them, as I actually like their leader a lot. 3. Went with a force of 10 players along the southern coastline and found a number of British players in the HOSP clan, we immediately engaged and had a really fun fight and won. I suppose it's more accurate to say that any British player we see will immediately be engaged regardless of the outcome. Sweden isn't one of the 3 big nations, It's not like I can call out in nation chat "port battle" and get 25 dudes, It needs a longer planning process. So our effective fighting ability comes with the OW battles. Essentially, this is the truth. We are looking where we can have the most fun WITHOUT being utterly destroyed in a blink of an eye. Seriously, if the original equation of keeping the pirates out of the south had stuck and relations stayed positive, this would be an entirely different story.
