  2. I always said that each nation should have their own Mods to keep their own national chats at check. Then mods from RE for example cant be blamed for silencing players from other nations by over using their power. With removal of global this is an automatic thing. 3 mods for each nation and its sorted, plus what you have said up there
  3. Well actually lots of newer game companies do have their own discord with support channel. But I havent heard of the large companies that do that
  4. This change was needed for so long that its almost too late to have now. It would work for a title that has strong direction and is being developed in that direction. Direction of NA have never been hard set. For the best or for the worse, in a way its been a community project, not the developer's. During the development of the NA its direction have been taking very sharp turns (even after the release). Does this mean that now you will be making decisions not based on community opinion? But only ask community opinion to help to improve the results of your decisions/implementation? I dont mean this as negative at all. In fact I think thats how it was supposed to be done from the start. I'm just trying to understand if we are on that road now?
  5. This will not work for a number of reason: 1. Alliance leaders are always going to be prejudged representatives trying to "protect" members of their alliance or clan; 2. Cases of unity in the nation is far and few between. You will simply give power to troll with immunity to members of larger groups that will lead to #1 point 3. Voting also will not work as largest groups of people/nation/clans will be able to "defend" their cases or attack with never ending tribunals those whos numbers are low. But that does not mean that the large group cant be wrong or prejuded Unfortunately I dont have an answer as to how make it work for you in the current game state. The game that implies so many rules is doomed for players to exploit them with enthusiasm. The ONLY true way to reduce or eliminate tribunals and take that load off Developers hands is by changing the entire game mechanics responsible for how players interact in the game world. For example... Green-on-Green exploit is not possible when all battles are Free-for-All and everyone is sailing under his own flag in the battle. Therefore FFA will eliminate GnG tribunals like a surgery. This is just an example. I have proposed for 1 week FFA attached to a special occasion. Maybe to celebrate your (admin) birthday It can be just fun event with locked RVR for a week. See how it works for the OW which in fact could do with a bit of reviving right now. Just sayin
  6. I believe this is not working as its intended because you cant tell me I can NOT redeem the redeemable ship if I have crafted one in the port. I mean most of us have crafted Trincs because they are good OW hunters. This means that none of us will be able to redeem the DLC Trinc??? Redeemable Trinc should be treated separately from crafted ones. Just like the Vic. I really hope this is just a code shortcoming thats going to be fixed. Else this redeemable "reward" is just as useless as tits on a bull.
  7. Being a hunter and a sport shooter who reloads and develops my own ammo loads, a lot of gun pen comments missing two important factors when address penetration. There are too main factors. Kinetic energy of the projectile and the area size of the impact. Im not even touching the ballistic coefficient. We are talking about when your projectile have made it to the target. On normal conditions (no angles or stable target) its the kinetic energy mass by area. Kinetic energy calculated from speed and the weight of the projectile. Area of application (in our case) is the size of the cannon ball. Thus, where 42pd cannon ball would bounce without a dent a small musket bullet would penetrate some portion of armor and stuck in it. So on top of the initial penetration there is also a factor that tells how a specific projectiles saves the energy. Small projectile might have higher initial pen due to high speed and small size of the projectile, but soon as it makes impact it looses all its energy and stops getting stuck in the armor. Large cannon ball if pen will carry the energy further through the armor due to its weight

Куда им в захват территорий играть?
  9. Мешает тот факт, что телепортом "владеет" тот клан, который поставил флаг. А что мешает сегодня?
  10. This is all sounds great, but people will hold their breath as this update will have huge effect on gameplay. "all guns will have a role" what does it mean? Does it mean that swivels will be able to do extra crew damage to lower ships when shooting from the top? will we able to have different controls for the guns? Thickness of Masts vs Hull. I think rebalance wise we should be comparing more Demasting tactics vs Leaks. Leaks are so nerfed that this tactic almost does not exist. Hopefully masts will get stronger and harder to drop. Accuracy. My vote is for reduced accuracy. So if you planning to increase accuracy with caliber then make best accuracy equal to what we have now and reduce with lower calibers. Range shooting is great! "Define effective range better" - does it mean more or better tools? Will we be able to finally use spyglass for range estimation? "Make more guns usable (including small calibers)" - this one really makes me shiver. Can we please have more info on this? Leaks are also part of gun update same as masts. Will those looked at as well? Currently leaks tactics dont exist therefore winning windward position is irrelevant in the fight
  11. Поможет. Смотри, твоя логика получается односторонняя. Ты говоришь, что скрин помогает отцепить зерг нацию. Но тогда, принимая те же условия, тот же самый зерг имеет куда большие возможности остановить твой скрин. В теории все хорошо, но на практике, тех кого больше почти всегда доходят до ПБ. Но даже если отскринить, это далеко не гарантия, что ПБ не будет. И уж совсем тяжело пробиться к порту малой нации. Фактически не реально. Давай возьмем порт который имеет значение. Атака на Новый Орлеан или Вера Круз. Сколько русских выйдут его защищать? ПБ флоту туда просто не реально добраться. А вот с новой механикой такая возможность существует. Не важно, сколько у нации людей, когда в бой максимум заходят несколько человек. Не важно, сколько там сотен русских переживают под стенами Вера Круз и заламывают локти во время боя. ПБ 25 на 25 максимум. То что происходит в самом бою это справедливое равное противостояние. Если одна команда не привела достаточно людей или села на "недоделанные" корабли или привела неправильный сетап, то это уже их проблемы и часть причины их возможного проигрыша. Но никак не из-за того, что в одной нации больше народу. Если нация не набирает 25 человека для ПБ, то это уже мертвая нация. Если нация не может скрафтить 25 1х рейтов нужного зафита и привести нормальный сетап, то это мертвая нация. Если в нации нет толкового командира, то такой нации нельзя воевать пока он не появится. Но, это все никак не связано с тем, что по другую сторону есть зерг. На Global сервере, наш пиратский клан единственный во всей нации противостоял сразу US and GB, которые были в альянсе и на них приходилось 75% населения всего сервера. Только на нашем сервере скрин не был фишкой. Мы все просто воевали в ПБ. То есть когда наш клан смог заполнить 25 человек ПБ нас было уже не остановить. Есть скрины как мы довели до одного порта и US и GB. Зерг им не помог.

Но захват территорий должен быть более уравновешен. Сегодня большая нация может легко отскринить и не пустить малую нацию на ПБ. Отсюда у малой нации меньше возможностей быть конкурентно способной в борьбе за города. Телепорт уравнивает шансы. Никто и не говорит, что господство должно давать преимущество в бою.   13. Приветствую. Нет, мы не говорим о том, что бы подрезать многочисленной нации ноги. Дисбаланс будет и должен быть всегда. Но, противостояние за господство на карте необходимо сделать более доступным для малых наций. Телепорт это хорошая фишка. Кстате, когда мы его дождемся? Думаю, что телепорт сам собой решит большинство проблем малых наций. Стенания были из-за невозможности попасть в ПБ. Сейчас это будет возможно. Обратите внимание на leaks пожалуйста. Я до сих пор считаю, что лики слишком занерфлены. Сейчас получил под брюхо и не паришься особо, когда наклон корабля должен быть частью стратегии боя. Вы очень много делаете в направлении боевки. Даже wind shadows рассматриваете. Получить пробоину ниже ватерлинии, даже одну, могло быть смертельно для корабля. А у вас друшлак плавает

  16. I think you nailed it mate. If they allow pirates to stay unchanged then I’m all good for this patch. This COULD be the difference pirates needed for a long time. Glad someone thought of this while I was upset killing a good drop of whiskey over my issues 🤣
  17. Thats right and any change of mechanic that leads to further decrease of player population IMHO is wrong priority. When RVR is done and does not drive people away. When players start enjoying crafting without even fighting. When players will have fun doing econ. When online population gets on a rise. When alliances done and make sense. THAN such a change would make a priority. Until then its a wrong time for it. Also proper mechanic should be implemented not as Karma. There should be properly done criminal mechanic for green-on-green for example. Not hard coded, but with game consequences, such as getting criminal tag that would allow your own nation to sink you without penalties etc Besides 600 players in your timezone is also pretty low to keep players happy.
  18. Sounds like a Tall Poppy syndrome to me. Ram was accused of anything but not about being unfair to what he brings to the fight as he usually faces more than one opponents on larger or equal ships than his. Your arguments about OP ships or OP players have no relation whatsoever to the issue at hand - reduction of means to attack other players. We have already been through this many times since players "like you" dont like being attacked by "players like me" and you want immunity and hard coded mechanic to protect you. - Hence why we had rebalance after rebalance of ROE. - Hence why we had green on green removed - Hence why we had implementation of coastal defenses and soon after their removal (because guess what? removal of coastal hunting also reduced ow hunter and made game dull for everyone - Hence why alliances were created and then removed again as they didnt work - Hence why map grid was removed so ganking would be harded - Hence why join timer was reduced so it would be harded to gank, but it bite back as ganked could not get protection - Hence why self balance join was introduced The list can go on and on and on. Maybe we should just go primal and remove all restrictions and make it free for all to attack, anywhere, anytime, anything. Maybe THEN more players will comeback (again). Changing the game aspects THATS what reduced player base! I remember when we had 2000 players online and it was normal. We were very vocal about warning that implementing more restrictions will damage the very core of the game model and therefore reduction of interest. I dont want to sound like "this is the last nail" or "this patch will kill this game", but it surely will make it no better. We all care for Naval Action as we invested plenty of time in it (Im personally over 10k hours). I have seen it all from all angles and directions. Lets be honest here and look at the hard facts. Today we have 300-600 players online. If you believe that with online like that this game is playable you are kidding yourself. Its just dragging on. You could still play Asheron's Call after 17 years but it felt like ghost land. Especially to those of us who remember trade hub being so full you had to jump so people would see where to come to trade with you in the crowd. I stand my ground - I'm against this Karma patch for the reasons explained above. It reduces PVP further. It kills the very basis of the OW hunting. While proper RVR mechanic would have easily fix current issues while creating lots of PVP content. Period. But fails or wins is all about the choices people make
  19. Make all battles free-for-all. Everyone join under their own flag. Let players to police themselves. If British guy cause damage to British player in a battle he gets reported to players and soon the traitor will find out the hard way that the whole nation will start hunting him down. No pvp denied to anyone. Players take matter to their hands. No more green on green tribunal posts. Issue solved During green on green in pirate nation that made nation chat the most friendly chat pirates ever experienced
  20. I beg to differ You should never stop carrying about players who make the game glorious. They are those people who carry this game through time. You remove them by making their game less enjoyable and rookies will exit the room soon as they entered it. Instead of bringing everyone to rookies levels you should bring rookies to everyone's level.
  21. My issue is this. Since this game only has 300-600 players online (specifically on the lower end during my prime playing time) it greatly limits me of finding targets to attack. This might come as surprise for someone, but about 1/3 of my engagements are joined someone else's battles. I dont really care which side I join. I only care to get a kill. Exiting battle I might re-engage my "ally" and kill him too. There were nights where I couldnt find anyone and all I saw where already started battles. Since everyone is an enemy this means that as a pirate I will never be able to join any battles if there are no pirates involved. Any hard coded mechanic that limits or grants players some kind of ability or inability will only cause more issues on the other end let alone finding way to exploit it. One of the things comes in mind for exploit is picking up an alt that is enemy of your enemy and attack him in OW to prevent being attacked. Easy solutions to complex problems DO NOT exist and will never work. What works for Fallout 76 with their online average of 30k players will kill rest of the PVP for solo hunters in NA with its 600 online players. That is my issue
  22. wtf? can you enlighten me what is my agenda? This will negatively affect OW hunting. This is a PVP game. With RVR mechanic so much lacking that its content driving people away from the game what else is there left? OW hunting. But with 300-600 players online you dont have a choice of hunting one nation. I have outposts to visit GB, US, RE, FR, SP, SW, DN... Not always you can tag someone in the OW as they are already fighting. Now this is gonna limit me even further with PVP...
