  1. Hunting: Essex! Ganking: Essex! 4th rate Port battles: Essex! 1st Rate Port battles: ESSEX!
  2. I adore good frigate fights, I wish we had PBs that were simply set for 5th rates sometimes.
  3. Strange thing is that the RUDDER, of all things, had a carved head. Like on capstans and various bits of furnishings, that's pretty cool. But they clearly had such a fine vessel that they felt obliged to furnish the bloody rudder, damn son!
  4. idk bout you gents but I intend to be sailing under the P R U S S I A N flag (thought atm i dont have one so im borrowing the Dutch flag for now)
  5. HUZZAH! I am VERY exited for the future And, I just gotta say, the Pandora is beautiful!!! I adore that class of vessel, keep up the good work!
  6. In order to test the new systems the ships, upgrades, ect must be wiped. The game is in development, the devs shouldn't stop developing the game simply because people won't let go of their stuff...
  7. Random Question Are paints and ship chests being deleted as well? I can't find reference to that. I just picked one of each up from a PB, it would be a shame to not be able to use them post-wipe.
  8. I fully support the proposed reformation! It would add a degree of complexity yes, but I think it would make this fine community of ours more appealing to new players and also add a dynamic of representation from the masses in where our great clans and war efforts should be focused. Also, an elected head of state is not a bad idea. A representative for us all in the open world, atop diplomats to officially represent the nation to both our friends and our foes.
  9. This is a terrible idea. Crafting is an extraordinary asset to the game, it's wicked fun! Building your own ship is something special, worth investing great time and effort. Reducing resource gain to a mere 25 players per port would kill crafting! Clans would become infinitely more powerful as players would be forced to join in groups to even get the bare minimum of their required resources. New players would probably quit and complain about it in steam reviews; "I can't get any resources because only the clans or experienced players can get resources". I've never doubted the devs in anything, but this is ludicrous. The benefits do not outweigh the consequences.
  10. All I know is that I intend upon doing some glorious and ridiculous PVP as a good way to send off my beloved ships. Any rats or Swedes want to duel near Tolu?
  11. Honestly, I just eyeball it based off what I got in my head. I think you can add the plans as like a "background" for the scene so you can have the plans in-program, and to line up your model's points.
  12. Alright, I see that point Yet, I think gold should be boosted, or crafting made easier as a result.
  13. The game is already not very appealing to the masses for its grindiness and difficulty. One dura ships would improve PVP perhaps, but we all know a significant portion of players would end up cradling their precious ships. PVP is dry enough as it is, and I don't want to see half the server's new players hide doing PVE so they don't lose their ships. Most people talking here are players that are willing to sink a lot of time and effort into the game, who already have high ranks and crafting setups. For new players, it's already a long uphill journey to get to other ships. I think a universal 1 dura system would be a fatal blow to activity.
  14. I second. Yes, our clan is small and has nought the resources of our rivals. Yet, I think the open, friendly community and its valor makes up well. I have never felt so at home in any other clan (no disrespect to the honorable SLRN!). Many of us have switched to the Dutch, and we remain friendly with our former clanmates in Great Britain. I don't hold any spite towards Great Britain and her players
  15. idk bout you guys but i think it has too few guns on the weatherdeck
  16. I've usually had full speed to ensure that I don't get stuck in the wind, and that I can pull out of my turn at good speed. But in a catch, I'll throw battle sails if I'm trying to do a close gap or loop (for example, stern-camping a ship of the line in my Essex). It's useful to have lightweight ropes/blocks to constantly adjust your yards.
  17. We have a plugin on our server called "Movecraft", which is originally designed for airships. But, I modified it to be used for ships heavily and now the vessels I build can be sailed around on the server I had a nice battle in a 28-gun ship I built versus a pirate ship of equal armament and smaller size, and it was fun as we both maneuvered around using the plugin. It's laggy as hell if the server's bogged down, but its still really cool.
  18. I've built nearly 60 ships of the Napoleonic era for a minecraft roleplay server- yes, go on, laugh xD It's fun stuff, and I've become really good at it. But every once in a while, I'll get a build contract from a player that goes something like this: "Ship should have an iron ram, with mortars on the front." "I want a giant stern cabin with at least 4 blocks (8 meters) or so of ceiling height" "Can you make the stern cabin bigger?" Those things piss me off soooooo much! I hate it when other builders just slap these giant "box sterns" with these giant, tall cabins jutting out of the hull. Rams interrupt the smooth lines of the ships and are illogical. You also can't just slap mortars on the bow of a ship. I also agree entirely about the Jackdaw... I've hated that ship, and most the ships in AC4/3 for a long time. The spankers are always crammed on the upper part of the mizzen like awkward fans sticking out of the mast. The sterns are boxy and annoying. Jackdaw's got that ridiculous ram, way too many guns and is plain ridiculous. Ships of the line in-game have unusual hull lines and really weird spacing of the gunports. The only exception is the standard frigates, which don't have their hulls maimed by rams and the like.
  19. Looking wonderful thus far! I've been working on my own random project. Just whipping something up off the top of my head. And, I've been wondering- how do you cut in the gunports? I honestly have not a clue.
  20. Perhaps the mechanic is supposed to be designed to imitate how individual brigade commanders maneuver their own men both in competence, and incompetence. Realistically, brigades did not follow every single nitpicky order given by their general; there was no position micromanagement in that time period.
  21. The fact you felt compelled to write an entire block of text to defend yourself yet continuing to proclaim your own glory simply proves my case. And, I'm not sure what Donald Trump's statistics from Fox News, and something to do with the port of Nuevitas has to do with that. But alright, go ahead. I'll simply grab some popcorn Hell, I'm not even on the same server; I'm a PVP2 guy now.
  22. Vicious, you remind me of Donald Trump. You can't take any criticism or salt without immediately going onto the forums and spending waaaaaaaay too much time and effort to prove some kind of immature notion of superiority to your "enemies".
  23. Inspirational work! The models you've created thus far has inspired me to try taking this up as a hobby
