  1. I like bananas. What I like more than bananas is the idea of ships that you can build and that have some personality to them - as opposed to cookie cutter capped crap populating every single outpost of yours en masse.
  2. Does it? Can player not buy player-produced good by contracts?
  3. Your logic is awfully idiotic. Because I find it curious a player decides to randomly roam in port battle right before the server maintenance means I know there is a port battle bug...? But I invite you again - if you're willing to accuse me of knowing about the bug, make another trial about me. If you're unwilling to do that - knowing your logic couldn't hold - please, stop accusing me. My proposition of the warning comes from the inability to decide whether it was or wasn't an intentional exploit. It's symbolic moreso than anything else and hold no real weight. You would understand that, if you spent less time screaming and trying to connect the unconnectable. It's a way of saying "wow, you got into a bad place at a bad time" while assuring the accuser the problem was notified. And my intelligence is insulted for the need to actually explain that - no less under the accusation, that SOMEHOW I'm some criminal mastermind behind a port flip bug. Now, I am NOT willing to discuss my viewpoint any further. If you would like to present yours - for a nice change, instead of throwing around idiotic accusations - please, do. The problem at hand is not my advised course of action, not should it ever come under discussion and even the less - counter-accusations. This is where you say "I think he's 100% innocent, no penalty should be admitted!". And I assure you, I will NOT accuse you of some underground, illuminati nonsense if you do so. THE END.
  4. Are you saying random words and hoping to make a sentence? Because if you try to accuse me of something, please make a topic for that. I will stand trial with pleasure. And if you plead innocent due to ignorance, SAY SO. It's much more efficient than accusing others for no reason.
  5. It was a brilliant tactic and I salute you on it. Now French offense is weakened, because our Admirals spend more time trying to pronounce your stupid city names than planning next moves
  6. You get 8 new slots (spaces) in warehouse when expanding. Compare the warehouse area (number of slots) to other outposts you have. As for the docks space, I do not believe you get any increase with increased warehouse space.
  7. I think a warning is in order. It's impossible to judge one way or the other, so either forgetting the accusation or resetting gold or XP are both bad choices. I would say - keep an eye out for the name Koxan. If he's a bad seed, he can be punished on the next offense, and will get no chance to explain himself with ignorance. If he had bad luck, well... he looses nothing, but a bit of time and stress. Nothing a typical Dutch raid doesn't do.
  8. Could also affect AI aggro rate... Im tired of getting pulled away from my forum posting with sounds of cannon fire when deep in friendly territory ^^'
  9. How much time do you exactly need to explore the map that has nothing on it? Two weeks was not enough? I was impartial to the case before reading that line.
  10. Quick! Buy stone blocks before Lord Roberts contracts them all up!
  11. Do you think you're funny or smart by using such an obvious lie? Seeing the behavior of this captain I would guess there was an intention to exploit the problem. I would say an example is in order.
  12. It is already abused, with smaller nations being suffocated and cleared off of resources. So there. First fix a mechanic, then ask about more contracts.
  13. And this is a good reason to make the mechanic even more abusable? Please!
  14. Idea: Ports produce area of protection - affecting battles and free towns within. Friendliness / hostility of an area is determined and controlled by a sum of all ports areas of protection. These are reliant on port's class and upgrades. Goal: Enforcement of risk vs rewards mechanics. Strengthening of national waters and lowering the strategic value of deep-in-enemy-territory free ports. Breakdown: So there is how it works - every port produces an area of protection as it does now - with the reinforcements and stuff. Depending on port class - shallow / deep / regional / capital - and if nation keeps weekly maintenance on upgrades the area has a certain X value. These values can add up or negate themselves, thus deciding on how safe any specific area is. Ideally front lines are neutral and real hostile waters start far in enemy lands. Here are the different types of safety rating: National waters - mostly next to capital, the "new guy safe heaven", otherwise clusters of well developed ports Friendly waters - most of national territory bar the frontlines Neutral waters - frontlines or open waters Unsafe waters - enemy friendly waters Enemy waters - enemy national waters The rating just means the threshold - for example, Friendly Waters start at 100 influence and National Waters at 200 - but the real value can be anywhere inbetween. This is to make it possible to nudge the rating one way or another. Bonuses (and debuffs) should scale either with the exact number or with the threshold, depending on bonus in question. As for the bonuses: PvP XP and gold reward for attacking (the tagging side, or the side invading missions) increase in hostile waters - this is to reward brave souls willing to go far, far into enemy waters, despite the risks. PvP Xp and gold reward for defending (joining the battle on the tagged side) increase in friendly waters - this is to promote defending and national coherency - answering and helping attacked captains. AI Trader cargo buff in friendly and neutral waters - to promote spread away from capital of non-pvp oriented players. No cargo buff beyond neutral waters (as in - in enemy waters) because that's promoting AI hunting in enemy territory, and that is working against the nation coherency. People going into enemy waters should do so for PvP, not for farming compass wood... Increase repair kits cost, repair cost and reduce dock size in enemy waters free towns - this is to limit the attractiveness of deep strike outposts and make waging hit and run tactics tedious and bothersome in long run. You can earn a lot unless you stay there too long... you should take your ship back to replenish repair kits in national waters from time to time. Introduce a cooldown on repair kits in OW in enemy waters - this si to make battle scars hurt much more if you're in a deep strike. It's not enough to run out of battle instance to regain full HP - you need to survive in OW too! ? Mess with in battle repairs in enemy waters ? - not sure if this sin't going too far. Increase/decrease port defense according to area rating - this is solely to promote "influence wars" and introduce another strategic aspect to port battles - this time an overworld one. Increase/decrease port production and maintenance costs according to area rating - war is exhausting and maybe it's time to make peace if you want that economy to flourish? You can also choose to attack a port of the enemy solely to mess up his economy by moving the frontlines Add a m*****f****** jet engine powered flying Richelieu - just because french people are awesome
  15. The more of this I read, the more I want to slap anyone and everyone who brings "our faction" and "your faction" to mechanics discussion. Eh, what the hell. <slaps dumpert>
  16. Try not to chug too much at once. Don't drink more than you need. All in all, it's just practice and breathing. Do some breathing exercises and air holding exercises if need be. In 4 to 6 months you will be able to go onto beer chugging training! Sorry... I had to... XD
  17. 1. Agreed 2. Super easily overriden by keeping fake clans or non-clan members. 3. Meh. All AI is meh. 4. Sounds good. 5. Sounds good. 6. Hell no. Cue nation jumping is one, two is - I want to have the intended experience, no matter if I choose a big or small nation. 7. Still rich gets richer mechanic. 8. Math - the game, also You Cannot Play With Friends . Such balance needs to be introduced by mechanics, not forced by math.
  18. Couldn't agree more. This is a game and your virtual conquest is virtual. Let's start talking how to make the game more fun instead of crying over lost virtual "sweat and blood". For the latter, I advise the gym. Your wife will thank you.
  19. 1. But large faction will always be able to get MORE of whatever the small faction gets... 2. Using artificial AI defenders is never a good tactic. The system should be one such that it accounts more for skills and less for numbers. 3. Big nations could spam front lines with super-duper upgraded ports, easily making any counter-push form smaller nation impossible.
  20. Pffff. Undercrewing casuals!
  21. Sorry, but it sounds useless. I don't see how this is affecting any of the problems we have right now...? What of the governors? How will they help, if their ports are taken?
