  1. Besides "Bots will change and will start changing from January" are there any other timelines of when deployments will happen?
  2. But will this end up being like sealed bottles, where those who play hours upon hours will just search the seas for all these new features and those who can only play an hour a day or on the weekends, miss the opportunities? The rare NPC ships, be great to put that way off shore, someone needs to sail 15 mins into the big ocean hoping to find it. Makes people sail farther away from lane and opens up the opportunity for someone to get attacked on their way back
  3. If half of them 20 are NPC battleships and 2 are part of fleets, that leaves just one single NPC sailing around. Break up the fleets, or at least leave one big fleet and more single NPCs. Make the world more immersed with NPCs, you don't have to attack them, but it would be nice to see more ships on the high seas. As someone who won't get to first rate, seeing a fleet of first rates, sort of stinks, doesn't give me anything to do.
  4. This idea should be implemented into the game with NPCs. There is a convoy of 1 Indiaman and a couple LGVs protected by frigates, then a group of players have to attack the convoy and some take out the frigates, while others attack the trade ships. Up to the players of how they want to split the loot.
  5. It doesn't feel that way though or may it's because ships are more in fleets now, but the ocean is empty. Maybe it's because the regions are so large now, 20 ships feels very small. Be nice to get more action on the high seas!
  6. With recent changes, I'd love to see more NPCs traders, single warships cruising around the coasts. It's boring to sail from one port to a port 30 mins away and come across one trader and two fleets, one being 200 battle rating or 1500 battle rating. I know, sail long enough you'll come across a trader or two (oh wonderful). The open world, is just overall lacking any excitement, it's disheartening to open into the world, sail and hardly come across any ships. This world is too larger, to rely on PVP, you have to open it up to more NPCs, otherwise make the map smaller, and consolidate the NPCS. I can sail up and down the west coast of FL, never see a player and only a few NPCs, that doesn't seem right. What's the point then?
  7. As the union, I just kept my troops in place and waited for the Confederates to attack me. It took up most of the time, by the time they arrived, we exchanged volleys for a short time and I won that part of the battle. I'd recommend you get the confederates more engaged sooner, otherwise the player can wait it out and win pretty easily
  8. Started as confederates and took the fort and now I have to defend it. How do you defend against all those union troops! By the time my reinforcements come (and it's only 150) the union army has nearly 700 men at the fort!
  9. How do you save a campaign? I started a campaign as the confederates, but wanted to save the battle as I had something else to do, but the save feature wasn't active.
  10. I think it's risky play, the player count seems to be anywhere around 250-750 on PvP1 (the high on Friday nights and weekends). But by removing all these assets, how many of those players say "I'm done with this" and leave? How many new players will the game bring in? I would ague that due to the length of the alpha, those who enjoy this style game have already bought it and when it's release there will be a slight pop, but population won't double. Those players that have left, I'm sure they come back and check it out, but finding their ships are gone, probably say "eh, not spending my time and leave." While I understand where they are coming from (everyone starts at the same level) and there are those who say "yes I can start from new again," I think it's a very risky risky strategy, to a game that requires a lot of time and is a niche category. My recommendation would be to allow each player to keep one ship and everything that is in that ship (modules, goods, etc). And if you want to start from new, don't select a ship, but for those of us, who don't have the time to grind out new materials, it gives us a good starting point.
  11. Prior to release all assets will be wiped (with the exception of xp and crafting xp). In my opinion, to the weekend warrior, to the person who can only get a few hours in each week, this is a death blow to that community. Those who can't spend 4 hours a day, 6 days a week playing, have lost months and months of work. If your target audience is the hardcore gamers, so be it, but I think any of us who can't spend hours within this world and have spent months, just getting a few ships and mods to our liking will likely be gone. Please remember the community of gamers who can't spend endless time on this game, to lose our ships and other assets, it'll take us months to get those back and more than likely, many of us will leave because of it.
  12. Speaking on behalf of those who only can play a few hours a week, if my exp gets wiped, I can't see myself coming back and playing. I don't have the time to start from ground 0 and I'm sure there are others who feel that way too.
  13. Exactly, I have a port in the enemy port, so I should be able to craft my resources (maybe at a premium), but should have that option.
  14. When the patch was first released, as a smuggler you could go into an enemy port and craft your resources. Now it seems that feature has been turned off. With it off, not sure what the point of smuggling is. Especially for the US where we have no ports. How are you supposed to smuggle when you can't build anything? If you have the smuggling tag on, you should be able to craft in enemy ports.
  15. I've said it before and I'll say it again, for a map so big, there has to be more NPCs ships sailing around to make you want to explore. And to the agreement, "well this game is really a PvP," then why did they make the map so big? It's rather pointless to have such a huge map and not see many NPCs at all. My suggestion, where there is less human ships, add more NPCs to the environment and when there are more humans, lower the NPCs in that region.
  16. No apologizes necessary. But we both paid for the game, because I don't have the same amount of free time as others, the game is then at disadvantage to me? The game world is too big for this game to be focused squarely on the hardcore gamers. The game needs to allow the casual gamer to have some influence and by speaking to a rep isn't it. They will quickly dismiss you for their own clan goals. I'm currently playing in a region of the map that I rarely see any players, so if those ports are captured by some hardcore gamer, but he is NEVER back to that area, should he still represent that region? Where as I get my couple hours in and play in that area and should be able to get land, especially if players aren't active. The map is too large, there is enough ports for many of us, if the owner of the port can't produce, buy, sell, they should forfeit the right and someone more active should get it.
  17. As someone who enjoys playing the game, but can only get on a few hours a week due to family commitments and mainly plays PvE in the PvP server, how does this help the more casual player? Is this mechanic "If you don’t have heroic feats you can marry into the Lordship by buying a special item" meant for the more casual player? I hope so, I'd like to take part, but when I play, I have to make the most of my time (be it economy, missions or picking off NPCs). I enjoy the PvE aspect in the PvP world, because that fear of going up against someone is always there.
  18. I was sailing between Victoria and Puerto Real and didn't see a single Trader yesterday (I was sailing between the two for a good hour).
  19. Just started this game on Thursday and I've tried to explore more of the map, than stay close to my capital. Things I've noticed, most PvP action happens around capitals (or close to them) but the farther out you get, the less people you see. It'd be nice if we could see more NPC activity at those distant ports (from enemy fleets scouting your coastline to traders). I'm down by Key West often, where it's a jumping off point to Habana, but it's still quite (players and NPC). If most players aren't going to venture far from their capital, having more NPCs in those areas will really make someone want to explore more of the map. I'd love to go up to New Orleans or cross the ocean, but knowing it could be an hour journy and all I'll see is a Trader with contraband, sort of makes me rethink it. So in the end. more NPCs! Great game!
  20. Maybe I'm not playing enough, I only got the game Thursday, but I haven't experienced this or fog yet! and I want too!!
  21. I can sail in the OW without a problem but there are some battles, where I'm trying to enter or exit and I'm kept waiting on the "Entering Battle" screen. Nothing happens, just locks up the computer and I have to end task to close the game. Windows 10 i7 6700 16 RAM GTX 980 ti
  22. How do you get the ingame data to update the map so frequently?
  23. Hi All, Looking to get this game in about a couple of weeks once my new computer arrives. Based on the feedback on the message boards, PvP US is overpopulated with US players and any country I pick should be anyone but them. As for PvP EU, to stay away from the British, as they are overpopulated as well. Does that sound about right? Thanks for the help!
