WASA why so over powered?

I aim to please And if the example of the Endy is anything to go by, a 18/24 combo should make her a bit faster *runsaway* -
WASA why so over powered?

Nope, 10 3/4 / 13 were the speeds recorded in sailing trails of the Gustav Adolph in 1787 and she carried 24s/36s since her launch. -

WASA why so over powered?

Sorry, but what you´re talking about? Which ships had their upper deck removed? The Wasa/Cronprins Adolphs were very stiff ships and certainly didn´t have stability problems. EDIT: You do realise thats´not the Wasa we have in-game, right? -

WASA why so over powered?
Malachi replied to Sea Fox's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
While I totally agree that she needs to nerfed for gameplay reason (best by reducing her 24s to 18s), I have to say she´s one of the ships that´s most accurately portrayed in-game. If you want ships that behave like their RL counterparts, no one in their right mind would want to sail a Santi in her 140-gun config or a Surprise. -

May I ask what do you think is out of the time frame for the Wasa? -
WASA why so over powered?

13 1/2 Lowestoffe ran 14. And pretty much every ship had a higher L/B ratio than a Niger (3.6?) , Slade liked them ships 'boxy' -

Wanna bet? And please, don´t mention the Wappen and lineship in the same sentence. That thing....ugh. -
Leeway warning! Important!
Malachi replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Dunno if that´s intended (I'll give @Hethwill the benefit of the doubt :P), but it looks like the black line is 6 points to the wind, so the absolute max a square rigger could manage. Closer to the wind...c'est impossible, monsieur.- 187 replies

Forthcoming patch 14 Part 3
Malachi replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
The run (i.e. the area amidships to the stern) usually has finer lines than the entry as the bow had to be fuller to reduce pitching. And the rudder 'floating away' made me laugh. Hard. -
Andersrum. Ulme) Und Live Oak...naja.

The only time I read about this cruising/ wartime armament was Gardiner´s Warships, I think. A handful of Bellonas and Gustav Adolphs carried a lighter armament prior to the war of 1788/89 but the reason for that was there simply weren´t enough 24- and 36-pounders available (390 36-pounders and 420 24-pounders were ordered in total in the early 1780s), not a deliberate decision by the admiralty. 24/24 sounds good, though

He, you were faster than me! me neither, except for modelling pixel boats. But this comes handy for us meter-lovers: https://www.convertunits.com/from/feet/to/Feet Converts to meters, feet, pied de roi, danish feet. Pretty cool

That´s the spirit I didn´t know you can set Blender to show decimal feet *scratcheshead* Your 4.39' are 4' 4 11/16'' compared to my 4' 4 1/2'' so that´s reasonably close, I think. That would also explain the extra 4'' for the length p/p in your pic @Seraphic Radiance Thanks! I uploaded the important pics to this site, the only imgur one is the slide carriage thingie, right?

Square riggers could manage up to 7 points to the wind (11, 25° / point), that would be around 78°.

@Rob How long is the plane with the sheer texture on it? It should be 145' 9'' ( I added an explanation why it´s 145' 9'' to the top of my 2nd post, should have done that yesterday) If that´s not the problem, please upload your .blend file so I can have a look at it

The speeds I quoted are from a sailing trial of the Gustaf Adolph and the Sofia Magdalena, a 74-gun ship, held in 1787. As far as I know, she got her 24-/36-pounders right after launch in 1782. But I still think 18s/24s would put her class in a much more reasonable position in-game.
