  1. Thanks for the reply. But unfortunately not so much my lucky day. #1 The devs for sure gave them their own price #2 I had several ships 'parked' in expired sales which I didn't intend to sell at all -> Bad luck then
  2. I had several ships in various harbours on sale prior to the patch. After the patch all ships I had on sale are gone. Anything I missed? I guess this has already been answered, but can't find anything using the search function and I really tried.
  3. Although I am not Otto -> here we go: MADCannon's Port Ownership Map Find a list of the most common map tools: http://navalaction.wikia.com/wiki/Maps_and_Navigation_Tools o7 Sir
  4. Dangit, only 1000 letters count for comments, had to cut all my insults. ... maybe this was for the better.^^
  5. Honest apology if I totally misunderstood you, wasn't an intentional troll reply. I just brought your post into context to the ES offers regarding ending the hostilities on certain conditions 2 or 3 weeks ago. Which he been offered to P and he denied all the offers and spit to 'your' face in the same of the NL faction without talking with anyone about it before he replied. (He proudly read out loud his reply in TS, 7up laughed with him and the rest was... "*facepalm* - I need to go to bed"...) Maybe I interpreted to much into your post, still, my question stand: Why the actual f*** is anyone doing diplomatics with one NL dude who has a fleet under his command for... reasons... and this guy is not even part of the council and not even acknoledges its existence. How can his word be taken as the opinion of the NL faction?!?
  6. @CeltiberoFrog Why do you bargain with P when he is not even part of the NL council?! Why does any ES diplomat / admiral even contact him when he can only speak for himself? Why do you built your plans on what one NL dude stated?! Just because he barks as if he his the god emperor of terra himself, the eternal light in the warp? Wrong franchise...
  7. I totally agree with you and want to apologize, edited therefor my original post. Thanks for pointing it out in a civil way. Edit: I hope I take this as a reminder to not check other threads after I got unhappy by following some heated discussions. Lesson taken.
  8. Edit: deleted original post since it fueled by my emotions by another thread. yes, 'very mature' sorry for my initial post. _____ Yes, I totally see where you are coming from. But still there are the general issues of MMOs, see my post #2 of this thread. For a maxed out account the XP are pointless with the current mechanics, but an XP->Gold would for sure please the rank 10 captains, but would harm the low tier players earlier than later.
  9. -deleted by author since it would only encourage the present lunatic to freak on-
  10. All for sorting! (...although I'd prefer a manual sorting regarding the order)
  11. As much as I see your point (OP), I don't support this idea. The devs already have a problem, to drain the gold on the server (for example the 'taxes' on contracts are one way to drain a bit) because of the maxed out players. These measures have to be taken in any MMO with a self supplying market system like NA, and it always makes the grind harder for low tier players and always bores the maxed out ones. By all logics when comparing games to the real world, stuff should become cheaper the more powerful a player is. -> exact the opposite as needed as a game mechanic. And artificial game mechanics to circumvent these problems are always counter argued with 'this is unrealistic' and therefor not accepted. I personally see the 'upkeep cost' solution as a good one, since the more powerful the individual player is the more upkeep he has which will drain the gold flow directly. But I already can imagine the outcry the NA community would give on that without even thinking the global reasoning and consequences through... 'it hurts me, ergo it must be bad and I hate it'. End of discussion reached. So the gap between end game player and early to mid game increases more and more... On the redeemable XP: Save them ffs! At some point your officer will be gone and replaced with a rookie. Vôilà -> redeemable XP are a bless then. (Boy I am glad that we can only 'like' in this forum and not dislike, already see the imaginary red thumbs explode now on my end...) Edit: Why is there a need in any MMO to drain the gold flow? Ever heard of 'inflation'? Have fun as a new player when all Vets are wealthy AF. Edit #2: Regarding the unused XP for rank 10 captains: Payed out as labour hours? Actually an not thought through idea, but somehow like it already.
  12. I just talk for myself here and for sure not in the name of anyone else. But you can stick that one sided alliance up your happy place. The behaviour of the British Fleet was a disgrace and a slap to the face. No matter how i turn it, I cannot see any reasonable point why anyone could ever consider the Brits as allies in the future. (I am really sorry for the handful of British captains which came to help and sailed reliably with us, but you know yourself who you are and I am pretty confident that you don't see yourself included in my attack. @British screening group I was unhappy to be with in TS and listen to their comments the evening where you left your position: Man up.)
  13. Kudos Sir, the first part of the campaign was great fun to fight and I for myself will happily face you again in battle once the dutch high command has sorted out the internal quarrels. What got my respect fighting the Spanish fleets was the fact, that there was lots of fair play involved and the chat (even in battle) never got disrespectful and many fair offers where made and hold. o7
  14. Probably a broken ship. Have some patience, some mod will check your account at some point and fix it, you will be contacted at some point in the near future. They do good work here and will take care of it if it is a account bug, no worries.
  15. Thanks for the very fast reply, I just couldn't resist to check for a reply before I finally close my browser. And you delivered! I see, maths is definitely your strenght. Well played and gn8 Sir, you just made me a happy chap. This is pure gold.
  16. Correct. And the short timer is an insurance for the hunter to not become the prey himself. But sorry, I am not interested to get into any pointless discussion on this topic, manturins statement was just... erm... 'streched'... that I couldn't resist to not quote it. Already regret it. Although I look forward to his rant against me or how he will insult me or my mental state or what ever in his world is associated to my reaction. Edit: Dangit. and it just overlapped with my post. And I am disappointed. After his strong start with his in general insulting statement (insulting to everyone who dares to disagree with him) he totally let me down now, just an self biased statement from his point of view sold as fact. I am too tired now, I hope when I check tomorrow he will elaborate the topic deeper to show off his brilliant train of thought. Fingers crossed & gn8. (and maybe even some well phrased insults as a bonus? the years of fruitful internet discussions surely have sharpened his social skills as already showcased above, want more of it)
  17. Short timers do not help gankers, I totally agree on this one. But short timers really hurt possible defenders.
  18. First time I dare to have an opinion on this heated topic. Just for the record, I am on the side of the folks which suggested, that the first grape does more damage then 'as is at the moment', but the 2nd+ grape does significant less grape damage since the sailor-minions are prepared and in cover. Will be reset once the 'graper' has at least fired one regular salvo in between. What about a 'duck & cover' order, which lowers grape damage but slows 'setting sails' down by for example 70% and loading cannons by 50%?
  19. ...and on top I'd love to have the option to save 'my' sail settings as I desire for each ship individually and replace the default ones with them.
  20. This. But I'd love to see a ingame system for 'creating missions'. A system where player can set up a contract for other players incl. the insurance of game mechanics. In this case: (trader escort) Want to go from KPR -> Barataria (system automatically displays the range and the expected travel time) At date: set by player I offer: set by player (incl. 10% fees to drain the gold on the server) The trader pays the system before they head off (start automatically validated by both parties when exiting port) and the escort will be paid by the system when mission goal is met (end automatically validated by both parties when reaching defined target port) -> The system can handle the security for both sides that the money is paid & the escort is delivered via a simple voting system and a mission tracker both players update automatically depending on actual status -> AI could be hired as well (or send -> AI fleets actually have a job besides 'being there') -> convoys can be formed "....but but but pirates with an alt account can easily set ambushes then and could even be disguised as escorts" And? Cheesy fuckers abusing alt accounts will always be there. And for the disguised pirates as escorts: Therefor the rating system, when you smell something fishy -> rate accordingly. "...but but but then I already got raped by the." Right. No way around it. But he won't pull this off to often since ratings -> tendency over time. These (lack of) characters will always be around in any MP game and they will always see it as 'a valid tactic since the system allows it' -> no use bitching about it, no use talking to them, they are just that handicapped, they will never get it and will always think it is fine what they do. Still a system like outlined above could help 80% of the time.
