Or maybe someone took offence as it could be from the other end of the torso.
  2. I want at some time to build ships and would wonder if it would be good to post up in a builders thread on the forum, at least that way we would all be able to see who is building also a time they are likely to be on with the port they operate from.
  3. Well I have a basic cutter and a yacht, not sure which one I like best, but after fitting the long 6lb cannon I can capture a ship pretty quickly, the 4lb is okay but the range is terrible I think. I've not tried pvp yet still learning the basics, like finding my way about, but I don't get lost mostly about 50 miles out across the sea's after 4 or 5 days with no land.
  4. I'd like to know where I am on the map its ridiculous that you can't see where you are.
  5. I have a new computer, so don't have anything from my old one to this one. I'll email them anyway, Thankyou for your help
  6. I haven't played for quite some time and I have lost my key, what can I do?
  7. I just remembered and like so many others its not a film, The Onedin Line
  8. Take a look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carronade
  9. Mines based on the ww2 North Atlantic convoys "The Cruel Sea", brilliantly acted in by Jack Hawkins and Donald Sinden. As a non film Das Boot was equally fantastic (I'm glad I copied this to dvd)
  10. I would have thought that bomb vessels IRL would have been useless against a moving ship as the reload time was measured in minutes and a shell fired 1 mile would take 10 seconds or so to arrive especially as distance was worked out on the amount of gunpowder in the charge.
  11. I have one problem, its when you fire single shots and use the telescope it fires all guns then.
  12. Thats a good video considering its age Here's another but a lot more recent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkkgKb-J3ic
  13. No I mean the small triangular sails at the foremast to the bowsprit, they're called staysails. From what I seem to recollect the staysails were raised 1st then the foretopmast sail. The mizzen would have been last. Weren't yards only struck down when the ship was laid up or removed for repair?
  14. Admittedly I've only progressed to a privateer, but as all of the ships to this one are fore and aft sailers (ignoring the foretopsail on them) wouldn't it be better to have the sails hoisted in the regular manner that was (I believe) common at that time and have the staysails utilised for getting underway? Or is this something that will change at some point in the future?
  15. Agamemnon for me was Nelson's favourite and it'd make a very good commerce raider as it was almost as fast as a frigate, but with about twice the gun power.
