  1. the sea trials also don't have the updated damage model in them, so you can only test it on the open world build
  2. I dunno, I've been using it to navigate and it seems to be ok... Although I've only been sailing about the coast of venezuala since I started using it... It's interestingly more accurate than google maps is for that area Edit: please ignore me, only just realised that it doesn't cover Florida or the gulf of mexico at all
  3. You definitely get the option to, but I've not had the need to actually do it so I don't know for certain that it actually works. Also whatever you do, don't delete your original outpost because it's currently bugged if you do and it'll cause you no end of troubles
  4. Pretty sure you can remove the outpost from any port, you don't have to be in the port itself to do it
  5. The same way you opt in I believe. Right click naval action in your library, select preferances, then go to the beta tab and use the dropdown box to opt out.

  8. Just run into a mildly frustrating bug. Started a fight between myself in a lynx and 2 french lynx. Managed to board and take Praters lynx, but had taken so much damage doing so I had to take control of his. As I did so I watched the lynx I brought to the fight sink alongside me. At this point I had all of 4 crew left and decided to try to escape. Luckily for me another british lynx had joined whilst we were scrapping and was able to buy me time to get away. However, when I left the battle in the captured lynx, I was informed that I'd sunk and as such would gain neither any gold nor xp and would be spawned at the nearest port. It's not exactly an issue as all ships involved were basic lynxes as far as I could tell, but surely that shouldn't have happened? I should have spawned on the open sea in the captured vessel and gained xp if not gold as well? I've already F11'd this bug but was wondering if anyone else has run into it? Edit: Found another one. The shops at different ports all sell different ships and modules, but the same cannon selection is present everywhere at the moment.
  9. You might find that the indicator doesn't say that there's anything infront of you but you've gone aground at a very shallow angle instead. I did that a couple of times last night. Especially when you're trying to get through a narrow gap.
  10. When in a combat instance, whenever you use an apostrophe in the chat you open the console.
  11. This game definitely needs variable wind strength. Like several people have said, just put a minimum cap on the wind strength, F1 or F2 or something like that, and make it relatively infrequent that it goes that low. It's already quite strange to have the same wind speeds in the calm map and the storm maps that we have at the moment.
