  1. Please add some sort of organization system so we can move fleets/battlegroups together and they don't dissolve when entering port. Would be nice to be able to name them and after you assign the ships to them you could move them together as a single entity.
  2. I believe we need the timers back though. People getting killed in front of capitals in trader ships and and now you cant even help them despite the fact that you are 30 seconds away. The 2 minutes timer was good, you cant get reinforcements from far away but you can get help if your friends are in your vicinity. PVE missions are open for half an hour and the pvp battles are insta closed. What is this if not the promotion of ganking? I understand that if one does a hostility mission on enemy territory it can be attacked in order to stop him, but I see so many people doing missions in their capital region. There is no hostility generation there and when a single guy gets attacked by 4-5 others that is in fact a gank. I believe if the PVE missions are open the PVP battles should be open as well at least for a few minutes. It could work like it does in the newbie area, you can join until the BR limit is even or just simply have the timer again.
  3. Admin you have beat me with this comment. Was about to say the same thing. In EVE there is a lot of special edition ships, that - unlike NA - are exists in game in a limited number. Here you have the BP and you can build as many as you wish. In EVE you have a blueprint copy with x amount of runs on it so you can craft the ship lets say 10 times and its gone. They give out a few of these copies to the winner teams and thats it, never again. Those ships are truly limited. Every time one of these gets destroyed the remaining ships value goes trough the roof.
  4. 1. Wind is very predictable. This counter-clockwise rotation needs to go away. It is very annoying when you beating up into the wind but you can not take even legs because of the constantly turning wind. Please let it blow to one direction for a while then make it slowly turn to another total random direction and stay there for a while. It would be nice if its strength wasnt constant but hey 1 step at the time. That is less annoying then its steady rotation. 2. Extremely poor variety and quality of loot. I think a PvP player should be able to maintain or grow his wallet by doing only pvp. I dont do port battles, I prefer duels or small gang pvp with 4th/5th/6th rates. In those battles you dont end up with half (or more) a million of gold so you either start trading or do pve, I have found both a very boring and a dull way to spend my time in the game. I really enjoy the combat, that is the main reason I play it and I hate that I am forced to do something I dont want to in order to be able to do pvp. I believe the loot quality and/or the gold can be earned from these battles should be improved significantly especially now, that a Fine Trinco 1mil(or a lot more). Also, in my opinion, destroyed ships should drop their cargo and modules with a % chance (every module should have a 50%-50% chance to be destroyed or appear among the loot) that would make it worth risking your precious ship with expensive modules in pvp combat. Because if I take out my exceptional (or worth the quality doesnt really matter) ship with expensive modules on it I am risking loosing it. And the most I can earn from these battles is around 50-80k gold. Im not saying that we should always earn a lot more then this, but it would be nice to have a chance to loot something expensive. Like 1 of its 3 modules dropped and it was a pink one. 3. The storms are boring. I really like that we have a storm, not a single times I have complained about it to anyone, but they are so boring. We should have massive waves and winds some damage to the rigging at least. And there are no storms whatsoever during battles. That is so disappointing, it takes away a lot of immersion. I still remember the heavy sea during the sea trials, and how much fun that was, and here we are playing a later version of the same game, with the total lack of stormy weather during combat. I really enjoy this game, I think you guys have done an amazing job so far and the way you include the community with topics like this is exceptional. Keep it up guys, we are having great fun testing this game!
  5. Nope, it was counting back b4 the first round... I did had a 2:1 crew adventage prior boarding though...
  6. Same here bud! Sadly, I was in a middle of a boarding. Guess, that dura is gone lol.
  7. Very Informative and extremely useful mate, thank you!

    New Patch Hype

That would be just fine to me. Im in love with the 5th rates in our out game doesnt really matter. The more we have the happier I am! Really not really a fan of the big ships although I do have a few to make money and use them in pvp when the situation requires. Probably that is why the Surprise is my favorite ship in the game.
  9. +1 good idea mate. When you spot it you will already feel the treasure in your hands...then all of a sudden a shark bites the lower part of his body off and he bleeds out before you can rescue him... That feel of disappointment is priceless! I really like the idea, it would add something interesting to the vast ocean far from any land. There is literally nothing there really.

    New Patch Hype

I dont keep my hopes up haha! Just looked up her armament yesterday and I saw that she was indeed a 24pounder Frigate. I was really worried that it will be like the Essex, a very nice ship, a good sailer but sadly, no chasers . If it comes with 24 pounders it will be a really strong 5th rate and I am really curious how will her stats looks like regarding her balance. I will probably end up using 12 or 18 pounders in order to keep her fast and just run down all the things...

    New Patch Hype

Chaseeers!! And its known to be a "flyer", the fastest frigate of the Royal Navy! And it is a damn sexy looking ship even with the original paintwork! I really raise my hat over the quality of the models in this game they are really-really well done. With this ship I hope for a little heavier Surprise, an excellent sailing vessel with a bit more HP and better armament. (12/18 pounders maybe?) But chaaasers!! Im off to the corner for a quick wank...
  12. ^^This! My biggest pain in this game is the lack of rewards for PVP! I dont like direct comparison with other games but here I must do it. I play EVE Online since the beginning ( 2003 ) and will going to play it for a while I am sure. I've tried everything from Power-Bloc alliance warfare ( few thousands of peoples each side ) to solo/small gang pvp and I found the latter more enjoyable, at least for me. I always wondered why new players, relatively newbs going out and blowing their ships up, dying a horrible death day after day until I've came to the following conclusion. There is only 3 reason to do this: 1. The excitement of the fight itself. It is quite fun to fight against another player, especially the first few hundred encounter. You really feel the chills and the adrenalin. 2. The killmail. In EVE you will get a kill/lossmail after every win or defeat, containing the details of the encounter, weapons used, damage taken, damage dealt ( every person who dealt any damage to the victim will be on the mail ), modules survived/modules destroyed. These mails can be linked into chats and will be on your character sheet ( your details, employment (clan) history, kill/lossmails, etc... ) and can be uploaded via API to a website called killboards so you can follow your kill/loss counter and you can track the details of the campaign/war. 3. The possibility of FAT (expensive) loot. <<<THIS! Every ship that destroyed will drop loot, no matter what. It will randomly drops its fitted modules AND cargo with the same chance. If it has 10 useless + 1 expensive modules fitted, all of them has the same chance to drop, but you will certainly get some of its modules after the fight. This brings a lot of player into PVP. You can loot a module that worth more then your entire assets you have on your account. This will drives you to take risk, go into fights that seems impossible with a broad smile on your face because you know that these guys usually have very expensive fits. In EVE there are no durability, everything that gets destroyed is gone for ever. You will learn to accept that the ship you undock will die so better not worry about it. But you have a chance to loot something nice so you dont risk your ship for nothing. The Risk-Reward ratio in NA is just bad if I want to put it mildly. You have a tiny bit of chance to find something worthy but thats about it. You buy a ship, outfit it for millions knowing, if you lose it its gone, and you only have a tiny chance to find something that maybe worth as much as ONLY ONE of your modules on your ship but we all know that this isnt really the case. We usually get nothing or something grey maybe green in the majority of the time. In my opinion at the current state of the game ( unless you are exceptionally rich and you dont care about losses at all ) using anything above green modules on your ship for pvp is just doesnt worth it. In port battles maybe, because there you will take the port (hopefully) and that is a sort of strategic resource that will benefit your nation. But in every other occasion you risk your ships for nothing to gain. A few ten thousands of gold?? That will hardly cover the modules+ship that you risk fighting the battle. This game needs mooore rewards for pvp, and this can be easily solved by adding the modules fitted on the destroyed ship/ships to the loot. Obviously they should not drop with a 100% chance. A player should be able to cover his losses from the loot from pvp. Currently we are forced to trade (meh) or PVE (meh) in order to avoid being broke after a loss of a ship. This would make the ship losses less painful but still hurts, would increase the number of players that do pvp significantly as pvp would become a viable source of income. As a result of this, those players who plays this game for the PVP content would not be forced to trade anymore. When you have to do something you dont want to do just to be able to do what you like it isnt really fun. Will link a few pics here how does this works in EVE. http://image.prntscr.com/image/83afcdd0607c43ed9e8fc695e98672e3.png http://image.prntscr.com/image/58dd6f0e704243b28c75aae7629eb498.png And finally here is a link for a killmail: https://zkillboard.com/kill/56472904/ Sorry, for the wall of text but the sentence I have quoted triggered me to write this down.. Maybe I should have put this into the Features and Ideas but I doubt it hasnt been mentioned there before... o7
  13. Very nice idea and would give us a little more control over the ship while further extends the tactical opportunities during combat. +1
  14. I like this. I like this a lot... The autofire would be way too OP I agree. But based on this ^^ a custom rolling front and back fire mode would do it. The player chose which one (front or back) he wants to use, but he has to aim manually, and shoot the sections manually, by the left mouse button as usual. But instead of releasing the entire broadside battery, the sections would fire one by one in order of the selected fire mode. Player skill still needed and it would allow the timing of your shots, thus more control over your guns.
  15. Recently I have looked into crafting and trading a little bit and would like to list a few things that are really missing at the moment. "stack all" option in your warehouse - could be added as a rightclick option on an empty slot and would merge the items into 1 stack. For example if I have 2 stacks of Coal it would merge them into one some sort of wallet where I could backtrack the money movement. Would be nice to know where the money came from, what did I have sold and where. Every income and expense would be displayed ability to modifiy contracts. If I want to adjust the price in my contracts I have to cancel them and put it up again the Traders Brig's cargo (2450) should be smaller. The GAP between its cargo and the LGV's cargo (3100) is way too narrow. The LGV's stats (structure/sail HP, armor thickness) are roughly the double of the Traders Brig's stats and I believe the cargo should be adjusted accordingly. Either decrease the Brig's cargo or increase the LGV's and the Indiaman's as well to maintain the size ratio. extend chat functionality. Every player should be able to create chat channels and invite the people he wishes to be there as the creator would became the admin of that channel. These channels should be permanent, and the invited players would auto-join after logging in. This would help organizing groups from different clans and nations and greatly help the players to socialize, and get involved in different activities. These chat channels could also an serve as intel/organization channels in different theaters for allied nations/clans or individuals. Not sure if any of these had been mentioned before or planned already but I found the lack of these functions very painful.
  16. The lack of this option is very painful. Could be very useful for training and testing purposes. Just have a button like the teleport or pray that would drop you into an empty instance. It could have a standard battle marker on order to prevent escaping from chasers. Would be nice to have something like this. Great post by the way, thanks for your work mate!
  17. You are right sir, I watched the movie again because you know...why not? The exact same model especially it's stern. There are some shots where you can see her stern and no doubts, it's the Constitution.
  18. I think it should be around the Essex/Trinco. It was a large frigate with 44 cannons (mentioned in the movie) and the Constitution had over 50 cannons. But its a fictional ship the ingame Essex does not have chasers for example but close enough. As for the Constitution I think its a beautiful ship with a terrifying armament and a very strong hull. Its a beast really. I do not care much for Lineships I am in love with frigates and the Consti is one hell of a frigate. The 3rd rate (the generic one not the Bellona) is a slow, sluggish whale, the Consti can easily out-turn her so I would not say she is useless against a 3rd. But she isn't a lineship so dont try to fight like one.
  19. It's a fictional ship but her actions were inspired by the USS Essex (linked above) which was portrayed in the book as the USS Norfolk.
  20. Yes! She had 12 pounders during the Sea Trials. Would love to have them back. The Acheron is already in the game but not the one you saw in the movie. If you have read all the books you realize that the movie is quite different. It contains events from several books of the series (20 completed + 1 unfinished). The main plot is from the tenth book but the enemy frigate was not the Acheron, as a matter of fact it was not even French. It was the American USS Norfolk and they never get to battle each other. The Norfolk wrecked on a reef by a typhoon and thats where the Surprise found her remaining crew. A quote from the wiki page: "In the Author's Note, O'Brian says that the USS Norfolk recalls the historical expedition of the USS Essex. Essex sailed in South Atlantic waters and along the coast of Brazil until January 1813 when Captain David Porter undertook the decimation of English whale fisheries in the Pacific.[1] Although her crew suffered greatly from a shortage of provisions and heavy gales while rounding Cape Horn, she anchored safely at Valparaíso, Chile, on 14 March, having seized schooners Elizabeth and Nereyda along the way. The next five months brought Essex 13 prizes." If you check the Essex's wiki page you will see that it's the same ship that had been added to the game a few weeks ago... So basically the Acheron is already in the game.
  21. I would really like to see a grid on the map, ability to draw on it and some drawing tools. Ruler, protractor, eraser, marker, compass, so basically the essential navigational tools. Im not saying dead reckoning isn't fun but it would be a whole lot easier and fun if I could draw a line between two ports and check the exact the angle between them. If you guys are familiar with the Silent Hunter series I am sure you know what I am talking about... I will attach a few pics and a video for easier understanding.
