We talked to Eric and many other officers from other clans but no one cared. I think we should have organized a small meeting a few days before the wipe, like I did for my clan.

I said this patch I wouldn't get involved in any organization and would just follow the moves. I told the clans that the patch would snowball hard and went straight for Haïti solo. I cared about your concerns but wouldn't have tried to persuade the Haïti clans to go back to FR, not only because I usually support any fresh initiative, but because the FR clans should have been able to defend from the Swedes if they would have organized themselves. The first meeting, after having fed the Swedes for 5 days, was already too late to get back on conquest. The Haïti clans helped to flip Dominica and to tried to counter-gank the Swedes, but against full Gazelles there's no point. Why should they be taken responsible for and why should they have compensated for the lack of organization in the Antilles ?

Yes with the Council disbanded, any clan could have taken the lead in the Antilles, either about meetings, defense or diplo. Didn't happen. Fair game.

so do you think the island/port hopping strategy is better than unlimited region capture? (where you can sail anywhere and capture anything?)
also do you think ability to capture all ports was better than capturing regions?

I'd say both should be given the right spot.

    • Conquering far from borders should be possible but require a special organization (planning, maybe logistics and help from allies)
    • Capturing all ports (or raiding them) would expand the conquest gameplay. But capturing a regional capital has some added epicness. When all ports could be captured, many players left because the conquest was too intensive. With only regions, the conquest lacks dynamism (but that also depends on other factors such as combat balance and PB victory mechanisms).

  5. May I remind you that France started the "lets pull 15 flags at once to avoid fighting" BS when attacking the Dutch.

I am starting to get concerned with your short memory span. You might want to seek a doctor

    Propaganda on ?

On the first monday we bought 4 flags and placed 3 one after the other. The Dutch bought 4 and sent 2 together which were sunk on the open sea.

We have no problem with that btw. It gives some small scale actions for scouts, screens and new players.

  6.  In fact  they payd SORRY for attack Swedish territory under Brit protection, and never payed the second half of the agreement (they only paid 50%)  , and the second part included a SORRy deployment near Swedish capital for 2 weeks.

Who paid the first half ?

  7. Yes it was maybe one ship, but the one after all the others, after we thought everything was eventually settled. But tbh those DRUNK events in the nation chat just gathered some of the French player base against Sweden. I mentioned them to explain the reasons of the deteriorated relationships, but those didn't trigger the war by themselves. But they contributed.

I never heard about changing the name of DRUNK, personally I don't mind, but I'd guess Kierrip asked because he thought that might have improved our nations relationships by removing the DRUNK = anger warning in the mind of many many French players. As a sign of change or something ? He didn't meant it as offensive or anything.

  8.  Drunk did not attacked you as long as they were in the concil until your "rogue" clans attacked us. You had no screenshot to provide to us. (at least you told me so at the 08.05.2016 when the Drunk diplomate were also in the channel)

No, the DRUNKs ganked first and that triggered our rogue players on Basse-Terre and Saint George's. French players told us they had been ganked, but they had no screenshot, so we thought we had none (no screenshot = didn't happen rule). However, we checked the date of the screenshot we had: http://prnt.sc/b6j5hk. This one happened on the 5th of May, i.e.

    • after the DRUNKs joined the Swedish Council
    • before our rogue players retook the ports

There's also the video with the date and the respawn at Grand Anse showing how south the DRUNKs had sailed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tuc3eICCspQ&feature=youtu.be. We can see the DRUNKs lurking around looking for juicy targets.

Still, in the agreement was also the part that French will not interfere in the war.

But that part is just "gettin no attention" or what? That and only that was the reason why Sverige accepted it in the first place without making it a big deal - Even though it felt like bitting in a sour apple.

The agreement was made of the French fully aware that we are gonna fight the Danes which were already in war with the Brits.

So to not respect the agreement directly done before is backstapping. And is just an act of treason.

Edit: To say that "continuing attacks" is crap. In 3 Weeks they attacked you once.

The agreement was that we wouldn't declare war to Sweden if the ports wouldn't be defended. Denmark-Norway hadn't declared war yet - the agreement wasn't that Sweden could attack Danish ports.

next point "no Pvp in homewaters"...there is NO down written Stuff about this point. Even when Drunk joined the council we didnt got this Information that PvP with the French is forbitten in homewaters.

Common we've been complaining about those ganks for weeks, talking about them with diplomats for dozens of hours.

And for those saying that we weren't friendly and loyal:

    • 28th February - After Black Friday, we propose some ports because Sweden is a great ally and we had joined the First War with the main goal of providing ports to Sweden
    • Sweden launches a flag against the United Provinces despite our ask to not drag us into an unbalanced war against them
    • Sweden conquers a pirate port despite our ask to talk about it first - we refuse to declare war to the pirate coalition
    • Sweden gives the port back
    • We cancel our alliance with Sweden because we value an alliance as a partnership, and we don't want to be dragged into wars without having talked about it http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/8715-political-situation-pvp-1-eu/?p=206357
    • We maintain our proposal to give ports because we consider the Swedes as friends
    • 10th March - Sweden attacks Saint George's (and declares war to the United Provinces 2 days later btw: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/11889-pvp1-sweden-at-war-with-the-dutch/ )
    • France stays neutral, and lets Saint George's to either Sweden or the United Provinces for their war
    • 22th March - France gives Basse-Terre to Sweden because it is a live oak port close to their capital
    • 1st April - French independant players retake Basse-Terre which served for DRUNK as a base for gank operations
    • 8th April - Sweden accepts the French proposal about Basse-Terre: any Swedish warship can be attacked near that coast, the traders can't be attacked and we'll use screenshots as proofs
    • Sweden asks us for a silver port because the Dutch don't agree on letting them Saint George's
    • 9th April - Sweden and the United Provinces sign peace: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/13041-swedish-and-dutch-declares-peace/
    • 10th April - France would accept to give a silver port to Sweden if the Dutch would give Saint George's back to the French, since we are now allied - otherwise the French independant players wouldn't accept it
    • Denmark-Norway and France propose to talk about an alliance to Sweden, to form that Eastern Alliance
    • Sweden refuses to ally with France
    • 21th April - Sweden wants to fight the pirates - France would declare war to Sweden if they would declare war to the pirate coalition
    • 23th April - Sweden and the United Provinces sign a defensive pact: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/8715-political-situation-pvp-1-eu/?p=248022- Sweden has no intention to make far conquest operations
    • 1st May - Sweden gets ports from the British in the pirate front in Cuba
    • 5th May - The DRUNKs ganks in front of Grand Anse

At that point, France had few reasons left to try to solve things by diplomacy. But still we tried.

  9. Twig,

    - The CSNF said it wouldn't stay neutral if Sweden would declare war to the pirate coalition. Sweden didn't declare war to the pirate coalition, the CSNF didn't declare war to Sweden.

    - My spoken declaration is official because I'm an official diplomat.

    - The agreement happened before you attacked the Danish port, and not on thursday.

    - I deleted the screenshots but gave them to the diplomats. All the French clans were very happy when we heard that the DRUNK would stop their attacks - at least the first times.

I hope this cleared some of the fog, and will stick to the initial post which is the official position of the French Council. We didn't want that war and still wish the situation will be solved diplomatically.

  10. Twig,

    - The war declaration was done without posting on any forum, I told it directly and officially to the diplomats and to some other Swedish players, as we used to do when we were allies.

    - The agreement (sunday) was: we let you one more day, but don't defend the ports. The Danish declaration happened on monday, after you attacked their port.

    - Our rogue players attacked the ports after DRUNK ganked again. It's true we didn't have all the screenshots however. Since we didn't want to base things on screenshots, we gave you back the ports.

  11. Twig, as a diplomat I'm the voice of the CSNF.

    - We declared war before attacking

    - If you talk about the agreement letting the Swedes one more day before we took back the ports, that was before Sweden attacked a Danish port.

    - We know there were attacks from both nations, that's why we didn't mind so much some attacks and chose to let time pass. However, after DRUNK joined the Swedish council and we were told they wouldn't attack anymore (for good), after Sweden settled in Cuba having been given ports from the British, DRUNK attacked again. We gave screenshots. That's why some rogue players (not clans) attacked the ports. And the CSNF decided to give them back.

    - Yes, the CSNF decided to not accept that neither Sweden nor the United Provinces could declare war on the pirate coalition without us siding with our enemies' enemy.

Aegir, even a small nation has to be responsible for its actions. As France, we try to be.

  12. Open world PvP was restricted in home waters, especially ganking lone players near the port we had given.

The Danes proposed to fix the situation, Sweden refused. Still the issue could have been settled without attacking a Danish port afterwards.

We Frenchies showed friendliness and got acts contradicting the declarations.

  13. Not so long time ago, Sweden and France were the best allies in the Antilles.

After their alliance ended, both nations tried to maintain a friendly relationship. Respecting the Swedish neutrality and independance, and wishing to re-create the strong alliance, France let Basse-Terre and proposed a silver port to Sweden. Despite those gestures, the Swedish clan DRUNK continued attacking the French even after joining the Swedish Council. The position of the CSNF cost France a clan which went pirate.

    - Sweden declined the French alliance proposal, and decided to fight the pirate coalition, our enemies' enemy
    - Despite telling us they had no intention to take ports far from their homeland, Sweden was given ports from the British (our enemies) and from the Dutch in Hispaniola
    - Sweden engaged a Danish flag, worsening the situation, and attacked the Danish port of Fort Baai, forcing Denmark to declare war: http://www.justisdepartementet.org/cont ... lli-sweden

The French clans unanimously didn't want that war, but feel Sweden pushed us to it. Seeing its allies the Danes attacked from the British in the west and from the Swedish in the east, the CSNF had no choice but to pause the diplomatic talks and honor its alliance by quickly declaring war to Sweden.

This is something we would have preferred solved by diplomacy, and we still wish so.

  14. As per their alliance terms, France and Denmark-Norway discussed their new common diplomacy. France joins the alliance that Denmark-Norway has with the United Provinces. Both still stay neutral in the Sweden-UP war. Since some French clans were allied with some Spanish clans, and Spain is at war against Britain, France and Denmark-Norway are friendly towards Spain.

    Thus France diplomatic stances are:

    • Britain - at war
    • Denmark-Norway - offensive alliance
    • Pirates- neutral
    • Spain - friendly
    • Sweden - neutral
    • United Provinces - alliance
    • United States - neutral

  15. Denmark-Norway and France respected the terms of the peace treaties they signed two weeks ago.

During those two weeks, Dano-Norwegian and French diplomats have been travelling to Christiansted and Fort-Royal to discuss the situation in the Lesser Antilles. Reports from both parties were unanimous: numerous dishes can be associated with either Danish beers or French wines.

The war that raged for one month in the Lesser Antilles had no other outcome than exhausting our forces. Having tasted beer and wine from the war booties, Dano-Norwegian and French captains welcomed a long-term improvement in the diversity of our dinners.

    - Denmark-Norway and France are in offensive alliance: they join the war if their ally is attacked, they also start wars together
    - They will do their best to maintain the peaceful situation in the northern Lesser Antilles through diplomacy
    - They will have a weekly meeting to talk about their common diplomacy

  16. As part of the Old Alliance with Spain, Sweden and Britain, France lost the First War when it surrendered after the Black Friday.

During those two weeks of non-aggression treaties, the French Council (CSNF) has been re-considering its diplomatic stances.

The CSNF had perceived Britain's attitude towards our common allies RAE as not as conciliatory as it could have been. Once its council was formed, Britain didn't manage to reach a compromise with Spain. The CSNF thinks Britain has been gourmand, where it could have been gourmet.

After France announced its neutral stance towards Britain last week, France declares war to Britain !

The CSNF wonders what drink goes best with Fish&Chips. Happy PvP to all :)

  17. The French Council (CSNF) welcomes the formation of a unified diplomatical entity within the United Provinces.

To get a better vision of the diplomacy, the CSNF asks the Dutch Consortium to announce after its meeting on wednesday whether it ratifies or not the treaty we have with the DAS/BOAT clans. The CSNF couldn't consider anymore extending this treaty further than sunday evening, in case the Dutch Consortium wouldn't make a statement.

  18. Congrats to the Danes and their fierce resistance against our coordinated offensives during the last month ! Congrats to the Dutchmen, their British diplomacy and the fun front we've fought on around Margarita Island !

Thanks to the people of the Netherlands Antilles who proposed terms that focus on the well-being of the server during this early access.

You both deserve that first victory on PvP 1.

  19. After having spotted a large arrival of cognac intended to supply the French sailors on the front, the Dutch attempted an offensive on Pampatar yesterday.

    Dutchies: 25 - 1 Bello / 10 Thirds / 1 Consti / 10 Trincos / 3 Cherubs - 8360 BR

    Frenchies: 25 - 10 Thirds / 2 Trincos / 2 BPs / 6 Cherubs / 3 Surps / 2 Cerbs - 7400 BR

At start, the Dutch main line sails close-hauled to the upwind tower and a Dutch division of 1 Third, 1 Trinco and 3 Cherubs is detached to the downwind tower. The first frogs to spawn, 2 Thrids, 2 Trincos and 2 Cherubs start a downwind chase. The next frenchies to spawn set up defensive lines near the downwind towers. BR=1.1

After 30 min, 3 towers are down, 2 French frigates are sunk, the downwind Dutch division is sunk, and the main forces engage a close-hauled line-fight next to the 2 last towers. BR=1

The Dutch line tacks in line to bring arcs to the last tower, the French line follows afterwards, getting the wind. After the last tower explodes, the Dutch line disengages downwind as one. A second Dutch Third is sunk though, caught against the wind. The French line follows the Dutch turn-as-one. BR=0.9

The Dutchies reform a line during their broad reach course, the frogs as well. The Dutch line turns in line to bear guns on the following frog line. The frogs maintain their course, charge and manage to cut 2 Trincos at the rear which are sunk.

The long Dutch line starts tacking in line to get the wind, the frogs chasing their rear guard at beam reach in blob formation, managing to catch 2 more Trincos, which are sunk.

After their tack the Dutchies start a broad reach charge into the middle of the French blob, but the frogs make a 180 gybe-as-one and reform their line to bear guns on the Dutch front ships. Some Dutch vessels start to leave the battle, and the remaining ones are caught and sunk.

    Butcher's Bill

    Frogs - 1 Cherub, 1 Surp

Dutchies - 1 Bello, 6 Thirds, 6 Trincos, 2 Cherubs - including a Third captured by the frogs, which carried some curaçao
