La Fregate La Tuite aka La Recherche
russian replied to Captain_Chis's topic in Unrated and other light combat vessels
Well, that would explain it. From reading about RN, any ship with a post-captain in command became a 6th rate regardless of the size. -

That looks great. Interesting that they would re-class it to a frigate since it carried less guns than a 6th rate. -
I found these online somewhere a long time ago as I was getting into models...bought a bunch of supplies and paint but then ended up canceling as I got preoccupied with other stuff. Sounds like an interesting book though

Would you be so kind as to help devs get it in the game? That little ship looks great

HMS Foudroyant/Trincomalee.
russian replied to Sir Cloudsley-Shovell's topic in Frigates and similar ships
So I posted this in another thread but it was carried away by different conversation. I think including more ships of class that we already have would be a good idea so we do not have several Trincs fighting each other. There were quite a few Leda-class frigates. Granted there were modifications but if we are unable to find the plans then we can just ignore the possibility of changes and use the same model with different names. Here is a list of ships http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leda-class_frigate#Ships_of_the_class -
Azov 74 guns 1826 http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=10714 yes, it is slightly outside but every so slightly Vostok 24 guns 1818 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vostok_%28sloop-of-war%29 Mercury 20 guns 1819 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_brig_Mercury Poltava 54 guns 1712 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_ship_of_the_line_Poltava_%281712%29 Goto Predestinatsia 58 guns 1700 - looking through forums found a topic relating to the reconstruction of it, which is awesome, but no plans. Russian forums should have a shipyard section as well for ease of navigation.... Mirny 20 guns 1819 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirny_%28sloop-of-war%29 Three Hierarchs 66 guns 1766. I am having trouble finding much info on the ship except for a mention here and there http://rusnavy.com/history/hrn3-e.htm?print=Y Plans are here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B1xK8yroHPifWTBoTXRidGQ3RDg&usp=sharing Several ships ended up reversing black and white.....no idea how that happened Also have plans for frigate Pallada from 1833 and Oleg, a 51-gun frigate with unknown launch year, and Yacht Neva 12 guns 1831.

Translitom tak kak ryskogo na klaviatyre net, izvinyaus. Na chertezhe sverxy nety 90 pyshek. Korabl sverxy 2x-palybni. 90 bydet 3x-palybni. In english the ship represented above is a 2-decker i.e. no way for 90 guns which is a 3-decker Searching http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=ships_search I found Svyatoi Pavel 2nd rate 90 guns 1794-1810 and Svyatoi Pavel 3rd rate 66 guns 1784-1794. So why not have the younger ship as well if we are getting a 3-decker?

Are plans such as these acceptable? I have more: HMS Leopard 50 1790 USS Essex 32 1799 Russian Azov 74 1826 - just a tad late Russian Vostok 24 1818 Russian Mirny 24 1819 Bon-Home-Richard - have not checked whether plans already available on the forum HMS Royal Caroline 1750 - beatutiful royal yacht San Felipe 104 1690 Russian Poltava 54 1712 L'Astrolabe 14 1812 le commerce de marseille 118 1778 la diligente 20 1801 la salamandre 26 1752 - don't quote La_Requin 1750 La Belle Poule 32 1765 - did not count the ports due to a whole ton of zoomed in pictures. May be the older 1828 ship with 60 guns Le Cygne 16 Ambiteoux 96 1792 or 1793 La Creole 24 1829 - also slightly late Also a generic brigantine plans from 18th century Admiralty plans for the following ships: HMS Alfred 74 1778 HMS Pelican 16 1812 HMS Roebuck 44 1774 - more details than we have here http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/2967-hms-roebuck-1774-44-gun-frigate-with-plans/ HMS Druid 16 1776 USS Hancock 32 1776 USS Confederacy 36 1778 Oliver Cromwell 24 1777 - philly privateer

Although I would agree with you that Russian Navy at the time was not match for RN but it was a force to be reckoned with. Here is a great website I found with many tall ships that we all like. Below is the list of Russian ships between 1750 and 1820. http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=ships_search Although wikipedia is not an acceptable source of information for college - we are not writing a paper. The first sentence says enough http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Russian_Navy#19th_century I am sorry you feel this way after playing those games. I have not played them so I cannot say that I have any experience there. I think we should have as many ships as we can manage from all the sea faring powers of the time while keeping the game runnable.
