  1. Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, but I didn't find anything about it. Probably just missed it. Was involved in the initial testing, but not sure if that means I can test this as well. Had to go away for RL reasons but now have some time again. My steam version updated to a certain point but seems out of sorts now. Please advise. Thanks!

    POTBS

PotBS...I spent more time in the forums of that game before it launched than I did in the game...years, even....way before SoE got involved. I made a few ships, which got me started as an artist. But the game gradually turned from the AoS simulation to an arcade-like speedboat game. Once the navigation map was added and explained, I knew it wasn't going to be the game for me. I kept making ships though...that was fun. Ships were too fast, sail evolutions were instantaneous...ships could sail straight into the wind without being blown back. My main regret was that I never got to sail my own ships lol I did see them in-game, which was cool. I just could grind my way to having the means to afford them. Liking the direction NA is going so far.
  3. Oh Well, that means the model I am building is of the Sloop of War. Still love it for just being different, though a 1797 variant would be nice.
  4. http://memberfiles.freewebs.com/49/72/79417249/photos/Eagle-visits-Baltimore-Harbor/USS%20Constellation%20baltimore%20Harbore%202011web.jpgTBH I remember her being extensively rebuild near the civil war, but my understanding is that her restoration was to her 1797 specs.
  5. Random outburst, I would like to sail the 1797 USF Constellation, with her rounded stern. I love the constitution, but she isn't the only Belle from that particular ball. I think of the constitution as a 'Jerk' frigate. Whereas a jackass frigate is on the small side, the Jerk is exactly that...a Jerk. No Frigate captain could refuse to engage her in single combat and not be seen as shy...despite the fact that it is clearly an unfair match. I am curious where she will fall into the scheme of things in NA. Somewhere between a frigate and a 74...and I honestly think she could hold her own with a 74 given the right commander.
  6. Someone already posted the plans for the Mystique. I still have the model.
  7. Nah, I do not know Marion outside the AoS world. Always thought it was a she? Anyways, she made some good ships, so I am not surprised to find her about. Ironically, I didn't play PotBS much...I didn't like that it became so...arcade-like. I am hoping this will be more like the original AoS. TBH, most of the images I have seen feature all the ships with a full press of sail...that makes me nervous.
  8. Hey Mates, This thread tickled me as I used to haunt the PotBS forums a lot. I also made some of the ships via the user content. The Mignone Privateer. was my baby...it was named after me, Frank Mignone. It was basted on an East Indiaman hull designed by Chapman, if I remember correctly. I also made a west Indiamen, which I think got called the dromedary...named after a frickin camel lol. Appropriate, to be sure...but still....a camel. again, another Chapman design. My last ship was the mystique Xebec Poleacre. I had fun making that. I just tripped over this game and I am excited to get involved, if possible. Finally, A new AoS game!
