Since the will of the devs seems to be:
1) after the wipe, all ports will be neutral, except capital cities
2) no attack will be allowed in waters in front of capital cities
Why not - after the wipe - set a sort of small safe "homeland area" around each capital: let's say six port (including capitals) which produce all the resources and are unconquerable with the "no attack" in front water new rule applied. In other words: after the wipe all the ports will be neutral except the ones of such a "home safe area" for each faction.
And here is the political side of the thread: in case devs will not accept such a change (and - in any case - before the wipe) why do not major factions (in PVP 1 EU) try to start discussing a sort of multilateral treaty on it? (ok, pirates may object that they are pirate and so I would understand if the would not agree, but national factions could do it, since it is in their mutual interest).
This way each faction will have its (little) "own area" (a sort of safe noob and carebears farm) and the rest of the map will be there for RvR and savage PVP.
What do you think about that?
PS: this is a serious proposal submitted by a player to (devs and) faction diplomats, since - in my opinion - it could be a good compromise for solving a lot of the problems on the table of balancing RVR (so - please - try to reduce faction role playing at the minimum, at least in this topic)
I welcome all suggestions, but without a game mechanic.... trying to get all factions agreeing anything will be difficult. Currently we cant even agree on the colour of Black!

If you were important you would know that that Caldwell is not the leader of the British nation, nor is he a diplomat for the British Council, he is the leader of one of several large British clans that are apart of the said council. ( no offense intended to you Caldwell).

It would seem the Brits tactic of hiring small groups to sow discontent in a Nation continues.
I think you give the Brits more credit than it's due.... these Clans have done this independently and by their own free will. I understand thats upsetting for you but thats how these games sometimes playout, not everyone will tow your line.
Currently the Brits are the bad guys, in a few months time it could be you again.... then after that whoever.

Once more how about you let the Pirates worry about how to Pirate?
I would love for some changes to come in but not ones that would limit our ability to work together and conquer our own territory which is what you want.
Mods/Admin have already stepped in with proof of historical Pirate Nations and have said their own peice on this.
If you are so keen for History to repeat itself in this game then you should be over joyed that all are turning on Britain.
We are letting Pirates be Pirates hence this thread, it's you Pirates calling foul here because one group want to be exactly that ........be PIRATES!
Pirates are calling him treacherous, disloyal, ruining the game for Pirates... I mean really, when i first read this I thought it a joke. Surely he has as much right to be a Pirate as you guys?
....As for the usual reference to a Pirate nation, come on.... Libertatia was no more than a hippy community on an island. Not a nation!

I think YOU want to see more infighting amongst the Pirates. That I am afraid is not going to happen.
Clearly YOU dont want that but I think the community want pirates to be pirates... hell if they had a real mechanic to raid, steal and generally make a nuisance of themselves then I'm sure everyone would be happy.
Currently you seem to just want to be a nation with a cool flag!

errrr what? I honestly have no idea what you are talking about... what are you claiming I said?
You are aware that before the Danish Blitzkrieg the French had almost all of the Antilles right down to the Border of the Dutch, and were winning. So perhaps you are thinking of something else because you are not making sense.

You are quite right good sir. Both the nations we made peace with are thriving on their own. Where were they when they were still under the british yoke.
The Brits way of doing it is steamrolling, and then set their defence timer to the middle of the night. And thus "kills" any further action. We had this stalemate for a very time around Higuey, with facing only these nightly timers and it was tedious and extremly boring, with litle or no action. By breaking this deadlock we brought life into our sector and Naval Action into the game, and even the british players must admit that the last days have been full of excitment and action.
Where were they? Free and fighting you, owned roughly the same ports as they do now apart from the ones you claimed as part of your treaty. A genuine question: will they be getting them back at any point as a gesture of goodwill on the Danish part? I mean you surely trust them by now, so you could return Aves, Terre-de-basse, Fort Baai and Marigot to them.
As for Brit steamrolling, didn't you take down both nations in one weekend?

Perhaps the devs could correct me but I thought they wanted the Pirates to be loose cannons, free agents, free of national constraints and bonds.
The fact that most Pirates now club together in an uber band is probably not what the devs were expecting, they probably thought they'd see more infighting amongst the Pirate clans.

Ah ... Sir Caldwell, I fear you seem to miss the point.
Danes defeated another nation, that's true, but look at the map ... how many ports has now that nation?
Brits almost defeated Spain and look ... instead of leaving them retake four (four!) ports in western Cuba, you are trying the more and more - every single day - to reduce Spain to their capital (and so did the USA before, but they at least had the excuse that we were their neighbours and they wanted to avoid us to attack their land).
Correct me if my details are incorrect, but didn't the Dane reduce the Swedes down to just their capital before asking for a treaty?

See for me this highlights the main problem.... Pirates shouldn't be a Nation. Surely history shows us Pirates were all about ego and self advancement. Pirate is about the man, the myth and infamy.

lol brilliant, the Danes bring two nations to their knees in one weekend. Then post how gracious they are in giving them a treaty but will be keeping some ports...... and WE are ambitious and cocky. What a crazy world we live in.

Very much players on dutch side are burned out.

Could it be possible to stop this senseless discussion. I don't play NA to complain or fight in the forum over stuffs... I'm here to enjoy myself. I'm not here to fightover who's right or wrong.
This morning we had 3 honorable officers who resisted, knowing that they would not survive. Please let thank them for their sportsmanship. And please stop arguing about port timers.
Agreed, however when the French post this below... do they expect us to roll over and take it like the French took it from the Danes?
From what I heard from [bWITC] & [sINK] the battles in Panama have been honourable, to then have the leader of the EDR come on and talk about reputation and honour is pure hypocrisy.
