  1. Well. The the Devs has made alts a feature of the game. That affects the tow system. RVR would not function the way it does today without many alts to tow the ships around. For RVR the best ships are needed and those are towed. I dont think it will or even can be changed. Since alts exist in the game (and is a game feature). The only question is what we can do to even the gap between players/clans with lots of alts and players/clans with no or few alts in for example the question of tows. Or even if we should even the gap. My experience of the game would be diminished if i had not had three alts and one main account, as I do.
  2. Well... The dilemma is that we are getting close to release and the game still is based on game mechanics that allow the use of alts to generate hostility (and to sabotage OW battles). I think that those clans that used alts recently in the way they did, did the developers and the community a GREAT favour. They showed that mechanics has to change before release. It is about time to make sure that players cant use weaknesses in the mechanics this way. I would be very sad if the Developers starts to ban players that only use ordinary game mechanics instead of changing the way the mechanics works. Why would I be sad? First and foremost because players should not be banned because of things that game mechanics allows. And because it limits the use of creativity in the game. I play this game to its very limit! That is my playstyle. In all games i use all ways that is possible according to mechanics. I hate cheaters and cheat mods, but if game mechanics has ways to move ahead faster and most dont use, it, I will do so. I remember War Thunder where it was possible to move the thank in an area that made it not visible on the Karelia map. I did so and shot all enemies in the back without ever being visible on the minimap. I even found a spot that I think noone else, or very few, found. I did not hesitate to spawn camp the WT maps with my tanks too if i could. How did the developers react to this kind of "creativity"? By banning players like me? No. They changed the borders and the minimap instead so that players could not move outside the visibility area. And they added a few rocks here and there that permanenty destroyed my favourite camping areas. They realized that mechanics worked the wrong way. I remember Empyrion. I and some others in the clan I were in at the time found a way to kill monsters in a faster way and get all the good stuff in the "mine" in an easy way, without breaking against the game mechanics (but not clearly as they imagined it could be used). A couple of well placed explosives was anough and a plasma cannon or two. What did the developers of Empyrion do? Did they ban my clan when they found out (since more and more people used that method ) Did the owner of the server ban us? No. The owners reported to the developers and the developers changed game mechanics in a patch. It used to be possible to camp in a specific warp zone too btw, it is no longer possible. Game mechanics changed. Or World of Tanks. I have forgotten the name of the map. You could drive up the mountain with an ELC AMX and I did so many times and shot enemies in the back. The Devs added a rock there. The Devs has stated that we are close to release. Bugs like the possibility to rase hostility with an alt has to disappear from game mechanics before release. Yes, it might break the stated rule from 2016, but I would say that that which happened was good. Now we all see that the game suffers a lot with that kind of bugged mechanics and that has to change. If i was a developer I would thank the testers that put the spotlight on this. Perhaps award them with a Sankta Cecilia or a Diana? 😉
  3. As i said before. It would be wrong to punsish anyone that uses ordinary game mechanics. Ask the developers to change the game mechanics instead, it is more efficient. And we dont risk loosing players.
  4. Extraction of rawmaterials, like mines and woods etc, should only can take place in the region-cities. The capital should not have extraction of rawmaterials, in it one should only be able to refine the rawmaterials, with the help of forges, workshops and shipyards. As it is now the clans will in a short period of time basicly only have extraction in their capitals. It is historically correct and leads to more trade and makes the regional harbours mora valuable.
  5. The other ports in the region has to be more important. I agree with Anolytic about that.
  6. I think it is good that we get rid of OW combat medals. Farming is unfair gameplay. But i would be happy if we could do more missions. Lets say 15-20 instead of only 10. Now i constantly run out of free mission spots.
  7. Great idea. It should be sold in the way labor hours are sold ingame.
  8. Interesting proposal, but the 2 minute timer does not save players from gank. With the old system you had 3-4 ships ganking one without the possibility to get help in time for the gankers. So a return to the old system would just mean a shift in what side that can be ganked. The old system favoured the gankers. The new system means that gankers can be ganked. 🙂 (And that they can get inforcement) I think the new system is better in my view. It leads to more PVP, since you can find battles for 20 minutes to join, in for example the PZ. The game needs more PVP and easy-to-find pvp, so I want to keep the current system.
  9. I agree with you about oak/oak as standard. But if that will function we need to make the rarest ships available for combat marks or victory marks. We cant have both, scarcity of woods and scarcity of ships, then players will freak out! Imagine that the normal player normally play with oak ships. He has perhaps 3 oak L Oceans and one oak Santti and for PVP 2 oak Trincs. Besides that he owns 1 LO/WO L Ocean and one tealk/teak Trinc, that he uses for prioritized operations, where slightly better ships are needed. THAT is something that could be very interesting. Either a system like the one we have had were LO/WO and Teak/Teak is the standard and few sane players will sail the useless oak ships, or a systemn where oak is the standard. Either way devs has to decide and adjust the system.
  10. If we are going to keep the traditional system with rare woods as the preferred wood for battle, we should definitely go for your proposal for Long Distance Hauling.
  11. There is one thing that you dont recon with in the discussion about combat medals for PVE. And that is that i am 1000% sure that the Devs when they created the Patrol Zone event specificly with PVE in mind, and with intent included PVE. Why? To get more PVP! Think about it. What has made the PZs such a success? It is that you find battles easy there. And why do one find battles? Because players come there. And what is the reason that people come to the PZ-events? That you can get fights where you earn the precious Combat medals there. In short: one of the main reasons as to why people come to the PZ event is that there is always an opportunity to fight there. If there are no players there are PVE. Thus: the more players that go there for PVE the more players there are for PVP oriented people to kill in PVP. I would be VERY sad if the Devs change this and only focus rewards in the PZ on PVP. The PZs would no longer be the success it is today. And the combat zones would not be a success without a reward like the marks. I agree with much of what you say Anolytic but i think that the combat marks ad victory marks should remain very much as it is today. But I would make it so that ship permits could be bought for both combat medals and Victory marks. And the ships used for Port Battles should definitely be possible to buy with VMs.
  12. I think this is good, but as others have said, the question of woods and permits has to be solved too. Let me repeat what i have said elsewhere. Devs has to decide if they want OAK to be the most common wood, and promote the use of oak in PBs and more important events, or if they still want that rare woods should be most commonly used. If the first option is the one the Devs aim for the current system is quite ok, after the wipe, with minor tweeks. If it still is whiteoak, liveoak and teak there has to be more of that on the map. I like the idea that capitals should be capturable first. That would create a chokepoint that most probably will be well defended. It will give the clan some time to build up defences on the small towns, and perhaps use scorched earth and destroy all, before there is an attack. If you can promote trade to the cities of certain raw materials that are needed to improve the defences/trade/forges or whatsoever, this would much help the trade.
  13. I think that a good way to avoid this would be to, for example, combine it with a partial change in the permit system.
  14. Yes we need to adjust the number of AIs in that zone. Excellent that you mentioned it! Increase the traffic to and fro Aves.
  15. "because I have no doubt that more than few players are smart enough"... I would have answered your post if you had written it in a more polite way. Have a nice day Sir!
  16. I agree with you meraun. And all ships, including 1sr, 2nd and 3rd rates should be accessible via victory marks and combat marks.
  17. Make combat marks and victory marks the universal currency for all ships. All ships should be accessible through combat marks. Lower the price, but keep some ships more rare than others. All should be able to be bought via combat marks, and SOME ships (as today) via victory marks. Keep rare woods as a scarce commodity. Upgrades can be as they are now or accessible through both marks. With this you will get a focus on PVP and participation in patrol zone event. All would want to do the events, because you earn a hell a lot. And you can get ships.
  18. I agree. At the moment I believe i will never sail the Christian again, that i will never get the permit. And that is not good. Lower the price of permits, make all ships possible to buy permits for, and keep rare woods scarce.
  19. I agree on that to 100%. make ships more accessible and then it wont be a problem that LO/WO etc are scarce.
