    • Bring back the ability to 'see' what each port produces and consumes by hovering the cursor over the port (currently can see what ports produce and what ports have an item available, but can't see what the port produces at a glance).
    • All Blue prints be obtainable (so all players have equal chance to obtain them), and also, especially given how making ships is harder now, the grind to obtain BPs should be made easier.
    • I like what you did for capping Battle ratios in the rookie area.  I wonder if that would make sense in the open world (but higher ratio)?  Maybe be a way to end the situation where a player wins a PVP battle only to be attacked by 7 times the number of ships on exiting the battle?

...Maybe the maximum likelihood of a blue print dropping should be with the common level ships?  If so, then maybe there should be no chance of a blue print dropping when making mastercraft or exceptional ships.  That would give an added incentive to making common ships and take away an incentive for the higher options.

...It would be nice to have the ability to hover the cursor over a port and see what it consumes and produces (not what it has available) as in the way it was before the patch.  I've figured it out with regard to the map option for traders, but again, just trying to think what the initial experience for new players will be.

... it's going to be a very steep learning curve for new players.

    totally agree.

    • Increase crew regeneration – because crew has to be hired and fed and rehired in case of full loss of the ship

I have a question, if I may... So is it a final decision - we will need to hire crew, buy food etc, rehire sailors?  Will we have to do it after every battle - or is it a one-time thing, when you get a new ship?

    • Every port grants from 25 to X estates depending on port size
    • After you won the port battle you are allocated estates based on your rank
    • If there are less winners than 25 lord protector gets the difference

Will it be possible to buy/sell the estate at all? (I see the mentioning of "special item", I meant real trade, by the owner, like we buy/sell items in game shops - ships etc.) Or is it more like XP - once you have it yours forever?  What happens if enemy takes the port where your estate is? (imagine you loose it 'cause 25-ish is a set number, or the same port can give endless amount of estates to, say, 2 nations constantly fighting for it)  What happens to your "noble" rank then?

  1. lesser heel also means lesser exposure of your waterline which means lesser leaks in your weakspots ;)

the only ship actually having heel issue is Trinco.  But for many players it's an advantage, not a problem :)  And it makes stiffness even more useless and annoying for crafters.

PS: Wish it would be random between build strength and speed if no option to choose.

  2. 1) NO

    2) how about "duel XP" (not the same as for OW)?

    3) may be something like a statistic if no "duel XP"

    4) based on "duel XP" you can unlock ships to try, like what we had in Sea Trials.

    5) other rooms for 2vs2, 3vs3?

I love Wind's idea about tournaments, but again, loosing ship is not what I would vote for.  Maybe some small amount of money you pay to participate?

  3. There are 10 age of sail games? ;)

The pirates of the carribean (originally sea dogs 2) game from 2003 was quite enjoyable, other than that i only played empire total war if you count that as age of sail game

    Exactly...

Sid Meier's Pirates, Sea dogs, Sea dogs 2, whatever 2 games were after them :)))

Age of Sail 2, Privateers bounty

    one of the Assassin Creed's

that's all sail games I know.

  4. Seems to be every port and all trading and crafting, anything that requirers information updating. It is not a great deal of time but it feel about 3 or 4 times longer than it needs to be in my experience of this type of info update within games. I don't feel it is lag, as i said before, but a very slow update of info. This may be normal at this stage of developement with a place holder interface and all. Just wanted to raise the issue, Will start asking others in game if they are experiencing the same thing, people may not report it as they know it is a placeholder situation there.

I noticed lags on crafting tabs (most obvious when I craft a ship) and shop too.  Thought it's my channel, but maybe not.

  5. Voted "War and Peace" , it seems to be the most important thing for most of the community.

Officers - ok, food - please, NO.  It's just an over-complication.  Like some other features, it sounds cool and seems "right", but then it just annoys people ("don't forget to hit those 2 or 3 buttons or you're not leaving the town").

PVE events - yes, would be nice, but can wait.

PVP duels and such - YES!!!  Don't care about scoreboards, but I'd like to see "training rooms" someone proposed earlier.  Sorta like Sea Trials, but with an option to go as a group.

Crafting - yes, of course it needs improvement, but...  can wait a bit more.

  6. My question is how to save a loot. I took over a trader with contraband, send it to my port and then it turns up that I have no room for goods in my cutter. What went wrong and why?

That's how it works right now.  To keep the goods you should take command of the trader you captured and send your own ship to the outpost.  Just don't forget to drag loot to "hold".

  7. Is the ship stat chart up to date? Got some people in chat claiming it is out of date. Just trying to get the accurate stats. :)

No it's not and cannot be, I just started playing new version of this game, just like everyone else.  And obviously I don't have access to all ships to verify stats :)

Guess I'll just delete it for now.

  8. если можно Naval Action(Морские действия) купить через steam когда она появится и сколько эта игра будет стоить?

My guess would be as good as yours...

It used to be 40$ for pre-orders.

Excellent Map link, I'm not yet in game (soon hopefully) I take it this will be integrated (or something like it) at some point. Apologies if this is listed elsewhere, I have alot of reading to do to get up to speed....

Actually there is a map ingame already, but not the final one. M button.

  9. I can confirm this one might be in development and could hit the oceans when Econ is added. Stay tuned.

    Nice one!

Probably Bonhomme Richard (Duc de Duras, 1765) would fit in well, as it's originally a french merchant ship built for French East-India company.   It lost the latest voting but many people were posting plans and pictures for it.

  10. I agree with Olav, traders lynx/cutter hands down.  Find the one with pre-installed copper plating or speed trim (or both), add 2 more speed modules (not sure how it will be later, but the idea is - to bump up speed as much as possible).  Those little ships will be speedboats noone can catch.   Yes, 20/25 slots vs 30 on tr. brig/snow, but brig/snow depend on wind much more then lynx/cutter.
