  1. Been playing about 24 hours now and so far I like what I see. Sent a couple of bug reports on game crashes in battles. I am still considering feedback in the broader sense, but there are three things that have struck me right away. Formations. so far you have line astern and line abreast. You might consider adding echelons to these options. Altering the course of the guide (lead ship) in line astern works as one might expect that all subsequent ships (more or less) follow in the wake of the lead ship. There definitely ought to be the option to have all ships in a formation turn simultaneously. This was often used for manouevering into battle and in battle, allowing for all broadside to be brought to bear on the enemy simultaneously. Divisions seem to, on occasion, wander off and do their own thing, particularly when the lead ship of the division has to drop out of formation owing to damage. Apologies if this is repeating what others may have posted already, but i have not yet had chance to read the forums in their entirety.
  2. This is absolutely THE BEST news. Congrats Devs and Game Labs for all the hard work and good luck with Valve. Congrats also to ALL the players who have tested this in Sea Trials and OW to provide the data and feedback for the Devs to work on and make this game what it is..... AWESOME!! Bring it on!
  3. Same here, last played earlier today, logged out properly in harbour. Getting Steam Server Authentication Error. Have restarted, reloaded and re authenticated Steam, tried to play the game from Steam Library...all no use still getting that damned error.
  4. So assuming the deafening silence means I am not going to get my recipe back........ Are the drops completely random? Is there anything taken into account that means I will not ever get another Surprise Recipe drop? For example does the client know I received one already so that I can never get another?
  5. I don't think so, I had used all of some items in the warehouse crafting the Cerberus so there must have been spare slots
  6. This morning whilst crafting a Cerberus, I received notification that I had also crafted a Surprise Recipe (joy!). However I cannot find/see it anywhere.... (dismay!) Can someone take a look and restore/resupply this to me please?
  7. World domination in a week...then do what the hell I want.....
  8. Pass to leeward, load grape and then come up to windward
  9. That is truly lovely......now make one with a real aircraft in it like the Lightning (1960's English Electric version) or the F4 Phantom or best yet the Buccaneer. Most impressive sight I have ever seen was standing on the bridge wing of one of Her Majesty's sleek grey messengers of death (height of eye 42ft) and looking DOWN into to the cockpit of a Bucc about 100 feet away doing 500 knots
  10. Chustler actually is a male "talent" for Hustler
  11. I agree too, but only because I know how to navigate and if I ever were "temporarily uncertain of my position" (a good navigator is NEVER lost ) then I know how to "find" myself again quickly
  12. Now THAT is one of the best ideas I have heard in a while.....
  13. Excellent news...and it just shows how good the devs are too, to take swift action to make the game better for all without fear or favour.
  14. I voted no....but I also like the idea of being able to see the names of friendlies. Until we get customisable pendants (PENDANT Though spelt PENDANT in the Royal Navy, this word is always pronounced PENNANT) we must be able to specifically identify friendly vessels IMO. This is essential for any attempt at controlling a fleet or squadron. HOWEVER, the last word I recall on the subject of Pendants from the Devs was that these will NOT be customisable but will be awarded from a standard set according to rank/achievement. I also believe that customisable vessels will be a looong way off. So.. in short.....no enemy names but friendlies yes.
  15. Crankey, you are not a million miles from a post I made on the NA forums way back. Only my General Shipping Area as you call it was a much wider belt of 100 miles or so in which you could minimap at a time compressed rate. On reaching the outer boundary you would then have the option of a VERY compressed "warp rate", normal time compressed warp rate, or if you are really sad and time rich a real time transit speed to your next band of General Shipping Area. The basic principle is I believe sound, it is the detail that possibly needs work. My intention and I believe yours is to meet the needs/desries of all types of NA gamer from the hardcore "simmers" to the casual player.
  16. Or instead there may be some "balancing" random natural event, for example France having lost all colonies in the West Indies discovers gold and diamonds in West Africa which would then create a whole new international dynamic in the Open World.
  17. You were pretty swift to abuse me the other day when you thought I wasn't doing anything....so please in future remember what you don't like and then don't do it to other people......
  18. Completely disagree.....for my money the display should be consistent North up and the ship and wind vector indicators should move.
  19. Sure, but it should be the last thing on the devs list....lets get some serious gameplay issues resolved first please.......
  20. Beg to differ my friend, you are correct in your assertion about wind coming from but the display of it on any kind of instrumentation is always as the devs currently have it. Mind you they should move the ship in the middle of the compass rose and keep that North up as well if you ask me...
  21. RAM...English is not your first language ? Coulda fooled me, you are not the first non-native speaker here whose English is superior to a good number of the native speakers. Well done my friend.
