  1. Even one cabin with paint/furnishing options would be a great start down the road:) I'll have to agree with others with the ship avatar first, then land, as that's where you'll probably be most of the time As previously mentioned, I believe, the Core elements and gameplay are the priority. We're speaking of options later Yes, I agree Once the main awesome ship and/or world stuff is steamrolling, then other options may come into play. Personally, I almost need an avatar. Ship Combat is my first priority, but I am a bit of a variety and customization fan. That's how I am and the excitement for me behind what this beautiful game could be. You may be surprised at how many people in many mmo's I've played enjoy customizing items, mounts [ships] and their own avatars with ingame money, real money, etc... This adds many social ice-breakers, as well. Many have hung out in towns/cities to explore, socialize and comment on one another's ships/outfits. This isn't only good socially, but would make more money over time, bring more people in and keep them addicted longer It shouldn't, by any means, degrade the naval sim Therefore, once the big stuff's doing well, I'd personally choose ship avatar movement(3rd and 1st person toggle), then worry/want the port hangouts/stores and island exploration. First Person, for a cleaner view of ship, etc.. and Third Person so I can see how awesome I look and know that virtually I'm a captain in a ship, not just a ship Honestly, when I heard and read of this game with amazing ship combat, future exploration of seas and land, I immediately assumed, I'd be exploring and finding species and whatnot with my avatar. I'd hate to point at an island with my cursor and say to my crew, "Yer ne'er goin' 'ome er teekin' a breek, lads" heh. Ship Combat: 1) Loving the ideas for RTS style combat! Maybe even TBS (Turn Based Strategy). As argued earlier with avatar combat, rts may rely on catlike reflexes, as well. Quickly deciding before battle, where men go, may be a good option, as well. I agree that no one here, including me, wants the 'magical' abilities of avcom that PotBS had, hehe. You could do some great things with a strategy style battle This also has the side benefit of adding variety. (I may comment more on this later) 2) If down the road, NA considered doing Avatar boarding, perhaps you don't lose if you die... as a crew member. Perhaps you'd spawn in another crew member or you'd have to wait and see how your crew faired after you'd died... You may still have to worry about ping, etc..; however, you shouldn't get any 'special' abilities. Perhaps, just a sword of your choosing (heavy hit, light hit) and a pistol with one round. 3) Who knows? Time will tell. P.S. Let us not forget the people in games that do not comment in forums due to playing and/or time-constraints. Many others have ideas and/or knows what they'd like; however, their thoughts may not always enter the forums, sadly
