  1. Today the Pirate forces combined attack Puerto Escondido, the Royal Navy sent a response force which defended, and decimated the enemy forces, losing only one ship due to connection issues the defence force destroyed or chased off all 25 pirate ships in superb fashion. While this fight was raging on the Pirates attacked Saint-Nicolas, the fight still rages on, I am sure we will have an update soon... _______________________ On a side note, both sides of the fight were throwing insults at each other, what started as a joke quickly turned sour, can we try to keep it friendly guys, both sides were at fault so I won't mention names.
  2. to an extent right? I would hate to see POTBS style rings around ports.
  3. Yes but my point is this in Dayz, you can feel bad for it, it is a persons progress and you have no need to swipe it away, in certain situations anyway, you may feel bad for it, and help them out after. In this, it would just be a number, or a tag, it would be more or less profit, and if you look at it and say, ow well I shouldn't take a set of generic merchanise from A to B for more money than anythign else which is less profit, because you will feel bad, it will have no emotional link to anyone that is actually into trading, most traders on games would sell there characters legs if they could for an extra money start. Again, making people emotionaly attached to a game is good, but it wont happen by adding slaves.
  4. This is not a topic that can be swayed, I can see your reasoning, but adding slavery wouldn't help in those situations, if you want to be a nasty person because you need to be, roll a pirate, other players wouldn't be forced into slavery so the Dayz relation isn't really a link either. Slavery would just be a label on cargo, it wouldn't make you a bad person in game as most were involved in it, and it wouldn't be needed.
  5. I am going to be the obvious guy here and ask, did you search all sections in your E-mail?
  6. They do, but this subject has been raised loads, I think they will add in another form of trade coming from that area in the world, with roughly the same value, to make it realistic, but putting that label on it would be unneeded.
  7. I'm not being a jerk? if that post came across wrong sorry dude, I wasn't aiming to piss you off. The way I look at it is this, any level system will have to be labeled, to keep users aware of where they are, if you have a system that makes people better after they do something loads, they will be good at it through doing it loads, and have an added skill to make them better at something they are good at. This game actually takes a bit of skill, to aim the cannons, sail the ship and to navigate, so why do people need a skill in game to get better at it, when you can do it through players actually gaining experiance IRL.
  8. You say limit game play and want to impose limits on players who don't have the skill points you mention, people shouldn't have extra bonuses for any reason, yes an office might know a trader in Port royale and can get you a bit knocked off, but that would be realistic, not, you have put in 200 hours, well done heres 10% off at all ports. Seriously guys, we cannot have random give outs, random amounts of money and random skill points helping people, if it is a sandbox, which the game is said to be, everyone, from a day 1 player, to a 1000+ hour player, should be equal in a basic lynx, not accounting for skill of course.
  9. I basically mean roles as what you have said, you pick a 'class' as in merchant, this gives you a bonus in monies but less XP. I really don't want to see that in this game.
  10. My definition of role and yours is different, you talk from a role playing part of view, I am talking on stats, as in my character shouldn't have an advantage over yours in shooting because I have been playign for 200 hours, everyone should have the same chance at any point, I don't expect to see a 'Naval officer' role to boost XP and money on prizes, that makes anyone who wants to trade stuck to not doing well. Raatha I agree, but why would you want to go for a player trader over an AI one? AI traders should have the same type of loot the players do, just giving the traders something to work with.
  11. My way is not the right way or the wrong way, but it is my opinion and I do feel it is the same way the Devs are swaying, please Admin come on and tell me I am wrong, because if there is roles in this game I don't think it will be for me, as I want to be able to do what I want when I want, if that is jumping from a 1st rate to a traders brig or from a frigate to a trader with no dis-advantages due to a decision I made 3 months ago. Please don't take this as a shouty comment in which I am oppressing everyones views, because I am not. And also Raatha I think traders should just be a trader, in the ways of Naval combat you would never of looked at a trading ship and said, 'oww my its the so and so, ooowww she is a bigg 'un' but milatary ships they did and so Frigates and stuff yes should be identifiable, but traders not so much IMO.
  12. I am massivley against this, one reason. Roles. Never in this game, ever, IMO. A sandbox should have no advantages to anyone, even if that is a role choice at the begining. other than that, I am happy for merchants to not be Hailable, and have a much lower level. but roles in this game is a huge no no for me, maybe I am wrong.
  13. indeed, I wasn't defending his behaviour, just pointing out others.
  14. unless you do it in a manner in which the person cannot fight back, thats like giving them 10 pounds change in pennies.....
  15. Well there is no reason for cursing in real life, yet people get annoyed and do so, I will remove myself from this thread, I don't want to start an argument in a tribunal case.
  16. Well I cannot defend him for his language, he is too blame for that solely, was just commenting on the situation which could have pushed him to the swearing.
  17. Interesting, not sure, must of been the standard no chat bug, just taking its time to rework itself out.
  18. It sounds like a bug, perhaps checking the intergrity of your game cache in steam.
  19. I understand English may not be your first language, and mean no offence, but what? Do you mean you left, then re-logged and it still wasn't working?
  20. so when you click teh chat box what is visible, can you see the tabs but no chat appearing? or is it impossible to open new chat windows.
  21. only problem is that they are stuck with the outpost at EH
  22. notice how I say we were there for a day, one day, now we are no were near there and your still scared? plus all day I was there, with the total company of 3 other guys at max. Also steel, you say that and yet ally yourself with a group that openly does it maybe not to lynx's but from what I have heard, brigs and up are a valid target.
  23. We farmed for a day, and I was the sole instigator of the farming, we did not engage any french players unless we were engaged, all day 2 players had ago at me, one was trucky and the other JG other than that we had no problems.
  24. I understand that you don't steel, I also know a few other dutch players that don't, but the people you asociate yourself with, well they do, going off the global chat, every time someone gets into a surprise they last 5 minutes before a speed modded conn appears and gunns them down.
  25. Indeed, and if it was the SLRN you were attacking, I would understand, however these guys are innocent by standards to what you are punishing them for, I understand engaging them as valid targets, but if you want an engagement with the SLRN, come get us.
