  1. Royal Navy rank flags: Lord High Admiral: Navy Board: Customs and Excise flags: https://flagspot.net/flags/gb~cust.html Irish (Green) Ensign: Austrian Naval Ensigns: (1749-1786) (1786-1915) Austrian Commodore and Senior Officer (18thC) Austrian Commodore and Senior Officer (1786-1915): Cornish flag:
  2. Some images of different nations' marines, showing the uniforms from the period. May be useful for when animations are added. Great Britain: Royal Marines French Marines: Napoleonic era: Pre-revolutionary era: US Marines: Spanish Marines: Dutch Marines: Of course, marines in game could be portrayed wearing shell jackets as it would be easier to model and the Caribbean is pretty warm!
  3. It would be interesting to find a Dutch 1st rate from the Napoleonic era!
  4. If lanterns were implemented, if it was really dark, you could mislead enemy vessels by making a raft with lanterns, like in master and commander!
  5. Here are some East Indiamen. These could be the ultimate merchant vessels in the game, as some can carry a lot of cargo and are armed on par with some men of war. Gothenburg: VOC Amsterdam: Some HUGE british east india company ships (winchelsea in foreground):
  6. I think vessels like HM Bark Endeavour; HMS Bounty; Vancouver's Discovery and Cook's Resolution should definitely be included, as some of the most effective merchant vessels; with high cargo capacity, but without sacrificing armament. HM Bark Endeavour: Discovery:
  7. With the introduction of the open world battles and particularly the ability to escape a battle instance (run away), I believe the introduction of studding sails would be more relevant. Studding sails could be used to significantly increase your speed (although requiring much manpower to operate) when one is trying to escape a battle, or chasing/closing in on an enemy. I think studding sails should be implemented as a purchasable module for your vessels. Operating studding sails should also divert any crew from gunnery, survival etc. Any thoughts?
  8. Some Austrian 'Donau Fregattes', or Danube Frigates, and galleys. Could be interesting to see some in the Adriatic if it is eventually in the open world.
  9. HMS Indefatigable- Pellew's favourite ship.
  10. I wouldn't mind joining the Tattered Flags! We'll fight and we'll conquer again and again!
  11. Are there any pictures/illustrations of these vessels?
  12. I am also referring to the Officers' and Marines' uniforms.
