  1. I had the same during my new campaign. MY firts Corps started to come down on the XI Corps, but it wasn't there. I think it's because the AI has become more aggressive and sensed it could be a good idea to attack the Roads held by the Army due to inferior numbers there. In my battle the XI corps appeared on my left flank, trying to do to me what i supposed to do to them. As you said, a nice surprise
  2. Here are my humble thoughts on Chickamauga and the Patch: The Battle is a real meatgrinder. I'v tried it countless times, but I never manage to get past day two. The fight at the crossroads and Jays mill just eats up my army, and if i take the two VP's to the South and west it's a loss. Very challenging, hope to beat it soon. There seems to be an issue with melee. Sometimes Units will fight it out til both are routed, sometimes a routed Unit does not retreat and stays in melee forever with my Unit if i don't order it back. Don't know if this is intended to happen or if it is a bug. I'll f11 it any time I see it. Many a post has been written regarding cavalry, so I do not have to say a lot, but I think it works pretty good right now. I can scout forward/flanks, can secure flanks or fill a gap in my line, and i can brush skirmishers away with them. It's a bit slow, though. And it's a bit annoying that they don't keep their positions once assigned. They always retreat to the rear if I don't keep an eye on them, which makes handling them effectively very hard for me. I also noticed that the AI seems to refuse to fight once the light fades. At least it stops attacking and stays static for the rest of the engagement, which made Chancelorsville an easy task to fulfil on day two for example. I'll keep playing and report back as soon as I manage to beat Rosecrans
  3. Yeah, we get Cleburne! Thanks so much, can't wait to crush some Union troops with good old Pat! "Where this division defended, no odds broke its line; where it attacked, no numbers resisted its onslaught, save only once; and there is the grave of Cleburne." WIlliam J. Hardee
  4. Great Battle! I'm only at Chickamauga second day by now, for my time didn't allow me to play more yesterday. Siege of Jackson is a fine fight, also. Had minor Problems in saving at CHickamauga, for the menu said "Enter Save name here" but i couldn't name or save, had to overwrite an older save. f11 it. Also, there was no reward in carreer points after Gettysburg, i didn't receive a new Officer, and there were no officers to buy from reputation.
  5. Looks awesome! Can't wait to play it myself. Especially if there is any chance of slamming Cleburne's Division in the Yanks faces after sunset. There are very few night-time battles, and this one would be murderous, but also fun.
  6. Yes, yes, yes. There really are some major issues in the day 1 battle. The biggest is the fact that Bufords two brigades are diverted into five different units. Total nonsense in my opinion. This way it becomes much too easy to flank Davis or Archers Brigade and rout them It would be much better to deploy Gambles and Devins brigades with sufficient Moral and condition to hold the Rebs of until Iron Brigade arrives. It would make the fight at dawn much more historical and better to play.
  7. Union troops dug in on the whole line between Culp's Hill and Little Round Top. It would definately be cool if there were some sort of entrenchments, and it would give the union better defense 'cause they can be driven out of their lines a bit too fast if you do it with enough force, a goal the Rebs in the real battle did not achieve due to the strong entrenchments. Also in the old SMG Units entrenched automatically when not moved. Oh yeah, and fences would be awesome, providing more cover and giving a few more tactical advantages/options. Nice idea.
  8. Hey Team and Community! I've purchased the game a week ago, and since then been fighting a bunch of battles, mostly with Rebell troops, only once as the union(which was somehow boring since I like the Army of Northern Virginia more than the Army of the Potomac, froma historical point of view.). It's a great game that brings lots of fun, and this is the first time I play an early access game. It reminds me of Sid Meier's Gettysburg, which I played for weeks and months and years. Hope this game will achieve the same. By now, there is nothing for me to complain which has not been mentioned yet, like artillery, battle delayed etc. But there is something i don't really get: On day two, Hoods and McLaws Divisions mostly show a very poor performance attacking Peach Orchard (especially Barksdales Mississippians) or Devils Den/Little Round Top. I know one or two things about the battle( ), and they didn't retreat after being shelled two or three times by Yankee fire. Dunno if this is a problem in generall or if I just suck in tacticts and commandership As in SMG those two Divisions performed better under my command. Some "Style" suggestions: It would be very nice if there are more "special" Units. Iron Brigade, Bucktail Brigade nd Stonewall Brigade were great to read when I saw them first, so it would be really cool to read more famous names like Texas Brigade, Louisiana Tigers etc. Just seeing the Iron brigade move towards Archer's awakened my thirst for "revenge" for Archers defeat in the real battle which made me charging it furiously with Pettigrew and killing it to the last man. Nice! Also I'd like to see Division Commanders on the Field, Hood, Doubleday etc which would greatly improve Units performance on the field in my opinion. Keep up the good work guys! Waiting for new updates fighting my way through the endless suck of Devils Den and the Wheatfield. Stay tuned!
