  1. I agree, the unit movement is brilliant, much better than left and right click
  2. I have had this problem, turning the game on and off again solves it
  3. I am an avid player of the total war series and I have noticed something lacking from this game. In Total War as well as unit rotation and move forward, you could also click a button which would allow the unit to advance a short distance forward. This control would be nice as the mouse click drag is more suitable for long movements and because of LoS ect. it would be nice to be able to move a unit just a tiny bit forward to be in front of a building rather than beind it. here is a picture of NTW which explains my point. In the little command thingy at the bottom of the screen, directly in the middle there is a move forward arrow. I think this tool would be really useful in Ultimate General.
  4. 3rd option is best, as I am not really familiar with the Gettysburg battle or locations I am often get confused when picking which areas to attack/defend it would also be nice to greater explore the options, for example first time round I click defend this hill and fight that battle, but I also want to try the other options in differing combinations to see what happens, being able to save at each stage would allow this.
  5. I agree the agree to slow or speed up the clock would be nice, at the moment time is scaled up to give a more realistic length, but it would be nice to occasscionally slow it down a bit.
  6. Has anyone played any of the Wargame series, they are cold war rts which use a supply system, and great emphasis on the supply network behind your lines. The problem of the supply system in the wargame series is that it is incredibly micro-managy, a supply truck will need to be guided from the FOB to the front then guided back to the FOB again, it feels clunky. Suppy trucks are also really vulnerable to enemy fire and the routes they take back to base are sometimes mad (although in this game that would not happen as the move order system is really good) This game is warfare on a grand scale, it is true that in wargame you can have many units on a huge battlefield, but the scale is still small compared to this. A General should not have to micro-manage supplies of individual units (a la wargame), his subordinates should be able to do that themselves. That is not to say there should be no supply aspect, I would support a supply aspect as long as it did not require much management and was mainly automatic.
