  1. Outstanding. So, give three cheers, And one cheer more, For the hardy author of the heretofore!! With requisite apologies to Gilbert & Sullivan, the Captain, officers, and other ranks of the HMS Pinafore.
  2. As things are currently priced, tobacco farming produces tabacco at 500 gold per unit and requires expending labor hours whereas just purchasing the same unit at "retail" is 500 gold without any labor required. To support farming, either the cost of production needs to decrease or the retail price needs to increase.
  3. 500 screenshots of your victories? You have my best wishes that you overcome whatever it is you are compensating for.
  4. Spanish player Suricato Rojo remained in battle outside of visual range to force the opponent to exhaust the battle timer in order to claim a captured prize. His claim of awaiting reinforcements was a rather transparent excuse - as expected, they never arrived. He simply exploited the capture mechanics in order to harass the winning team.
  5. For the stated purpose of gathering all suggestions relative to piracy in one thread I'll include the following: Regarding existing players retaining their pirate status when NA goes into full release, I humbly disagree. Quite simply require that players select transfer to their choice of any legitimate nation (or even a new one), retaining all their assets. After all, currently Pirates are nothing more that a fictional nation. Then if they wish to go rogue they could do so albeit with all the consequences. I strongly support those suggesting that piracy become something like NA's "Hard/Expert" mode. There should be more to becoming a pirate than slapping on heavy mascara, adopting an effeminate walk & hand gestures, and insisting others call you Jack Sparrow. Going pirate - with the opportunity to operate by distinctly different pirate rules - ought to come at a price and a fairly substantial one at that; a buy-in if you will. Players should have to ask themselves, "I'm I really willing to give up a normal, relatively wealthy lifestyle to become an expert/elite NA player?" with whatever personal satisfaction & elite status that might bring them. It would certainly provide an additional opportunity for game play beyond the long grind to a stagnate admiral's rank. Then becoming a pirate would really be making a statement.

  7. This is getting tedious.
  8. When someone finally invents time travel I'm going to dial in the date that this Council of which they speak pissed in these guy's Wheaties. Judging by the degree of sunburn on display it must have been truly epic. What part of IT'S A GAME is so hard to grasp?
  9. Sanchez - InfiniteAmount is not a member of TDA. You need to be more careful about making false accusations.
  10. I too would have preferred to vote for officer and crew mechanics but the issue of the pirates as a national faction (not to mention lack of enforcement of green on green cheat exploits) demands priority. If the game is to shoulder any credibility for age-of-sail feel it cannot be done without drastic overhaul of the way pirates are handled. Currently the game is devoid of mechanics anywhere close to the way pirates operated in the 18th century and for now they are nothing more than another nation - albeit with special privileges and treatment. It's not a stretch to say the game currently doesn't have pirates - just a national faction that happens to have a black flag. Pirates didn't have the infrastructure to support ports, shipbuilding, or for that matter traditional crewing, and the game currently makes no attempt to create those characteristic aspects of pirating. Pirates had to use tactics and operations that were truly different. If someone really wants to go beyond calling them self "Jack Sparrow" they are better off watching the movie - the game as of now has little to offer them. The game otherwise does a pretty good job with with factions. The game needs pirates. It would be a shame to avoid providing a credible opportunity to recreate a true feel for pirating.
  11. Restarted system and it cleared it.
  12. Game seems slow loading. Once in port seemed to work OK but in trying to leave port it goes into a long delay then crashes. Deleated local content and reloaded game. Problem still exists and is repeatable. I will delete the game and reload from scratch. I will post a followup.
  13. Revision to the previous post - The fix works IFF: 1) Windows is in Aero mode, 2) NA is in windowed mode, 3) ShadowPlay option "Allow Desktop Capture" is checked, AND 4) You have Naval action playing on your default desktop monitor. If you are running multiple monitors it seems the use of Shadowplay is VERY narrowly restricted.
  14. Off the top of my head we range from New Zealand, UK, Denmark, Germany, to Croatia, and South Africa, with a Russian ex-pat thrown in. My family has been here since the 1600's. America - the World's Melting Pot
  15. Looking forward to the day we finally meet 'Merica - Forever Young
  16. I get the subject error message whether attempting login from Steam or internally
