  1. Finally i tried to build 100000 tons super battleship. utter failure, i would have to arm it with battery of a ship 1/3rd its mass. Btw it's only battleships with that problem, there is no problem to make fasts, heavily armed and decently armored Heavy and light cruisers and even destroyers. But in case of battleships, especially those bigger than 30000 tons (modified dreadnought+) there is barely even any choice, spedd is so-so, but i can get neither protection nor weapons. "I want the design process to be an interesting part of the gameplay, where the player needs to make decisions to accomplish what he thinks is important for the ship role in the game. " Right, but it's not that at the moment, the role of battleships is to dish and take damage, it can't do both right now, paradoxally the easiest thing to get is the speed due to vanilla mechanic of scaling, but you would theoretically balance armor, other passive defences, and weaponry. Right now passive defences like bulkheads are absolutely non-negotiable, if you do not take max of it, you're dead fast. Except that there is not enough weight left not only for both decent armor and weapon but for even one of those, so even if you choose one of them, the entire ship is getting pointless since if you want weapons then Battle Cruiser would be better and if you want armor it would be useless anyway since no matter how thick armor the ships are still getting sink fairly easy.
  2. Right, thanks, it tends to start too high, but still seems to weight too much even after reducing. There's also the "Fuel/Etc" which even at minimal range and otherwise bare hull is still the biggest position in list. I'm currently trying to recreate build like Yamato and it's not happening unless i strip most of the additional protections, which seems unlikely since Yamato was designed with all those in mind. Same with Fuso previously, no way i fit into that displacement while having those main battery, not even when i went to british BC protection levels. Overall i might be mistaken since i'm not nerdish enough to ponder each milimeter of armor, but i hoped for some more freedom of design than in vanilla (rest of the mod seems to improve it much, even the critically unfun naval invasions seems to be better so i appreciate the work).
  3. There seems to be something very uncool with the BB designs around 1920, everything seems to weight way too much.
  4. It's getting more apparent in each next patch, but we need more control over war. Currently i can't even have peace, regardless of what i do other empires tend to randomly declare war on me even from the other side of the world (playing as Italy, not having any colony or any ship outside of Mediterranean and Somalia but China and Japan still for some reason declare war only to not attack me at all). Relations don't even matter, i've been declared war from neutral relations too and in one case even straight up from alliance. Next, peace deals. The price of colonies is completely ridiculous, one time i wiped out nearly entire French fleet of 200 ships and bately got one colony out of it, and it wasn't even good colony. Again peace deals, sometimes it don't even give me colonies i should get. I gave enough points, check the boxes and the effect is random i might get what i want, i might get part of it or even nothing at all. Also good job with the economy, i love not being able to afford dreadnoughts in the game about dreadnoughts (/s of course it's utter fail, even obsolete wrecks are way too expensive and cheaper ships are useless and a loss anyway) Finally a question: Is there any way i can influence land attacks except naval invasions?
  5. 87 new hulls, most of it cruisers which were very lacking. I must say i'm greatly impressed, though sadly i do not have time for testing this time.
  6. Question: How to avoid getting government change playing as Soviet Union in 1920?
  7. I must say i like the new weather system so far (granted i didn't play long). I also had a war within a year in starting new campaign while in previous 2 patches i had to wait like 10 years. I hope it's not accident.
  8. Also, i write this again, but it is still needed: option to directly declare a war. I'm sittin on my 4th campaign in a row either without a war whatsoever for 15 years or with some weird war without battles. Increasing tensions don't do much if anything. I didn't even managed to see most of the campaign features because currently i have very boring peace simulator. At this point i would prefer the very first version of campaign, at least something happened then. Also, make subs optional, they are not adding anything, their only effect is basically random damage for ships offscreen.
  9. Mod support and workshop. I don't think i ever seen game more suitable for it.
  10. This. Campaign is a good idea overall, but like it looks right now, it's actively hampering the core game which is designing and shooting ships. Not saying it should be romoved or downgraded, but players should be given more control: war on demand and overhaul of mission generation (i actually think just having random missions like in early versions was much more superior to the tiring chore there is now).
  11. Big guns should also not have such drastic loss in RoF and accuracy, if that would work like this historically, nobody would even bother, weight itself was enough to balance them.
  12. New war system is seriously underwhelming. Worsening relations take ages and big hit to unrest, normal events basically disappeared so i can't even use that and there is still no option for just attacking someone even with low relations. I started two campaigns and did not get any wars for few years in both, in one i bankrupted cause of few ships i had while waiting for war to happen "just in the next round for sure" but it didn't (also AI have fleets several times more expensive than mine and did not bankrupted). And in second i get revolution because worsening relations and got kicked out. All those took few hours of absolute boredom.
  13. So to play as USSR i need to start in 1920? Also, many good features in and for the first time no nerf for accuracy? Also please finally buff guns 406mm+
  14. We REALLY need a way to manually start a war and initiate peace negotiations.
  15. This do happen in the scenarios, when you choose the gun tech upgrade. Also some navies includin Russia have strange hull progression which add to wonkiness.
  16. Ships seems to not disappear anymore, so that's most likely successfully fixed.
  17. Features not being explained properly is yet another problem of the currently experienced feature bloat. We don't even know if they are bugged or how much they are bugged like that. And it's heaping up. I also bet that if there will be some tutorial eventually, it will be in the form of dense text boxes which never explain anything to anyone. Also ships indeed do disappear after battles, and it's not corrupted save fault, i started new campaign to confirm it. And waited 5 years for the first battle to occur with slow turns often freezing on mission generation and ship building, seriously can't we just frigging attack anyone? This is getting beyond ridiculous at this point. Not only already fixed bugs are back from version to version, but new ones are being introduced at incredible ratio, old features are not being balanced properly and ne ones are introduced like crazy. Devs just stop for a while and fix this! At least make things like fuel, flaws, subs etc OPTIONAL!
  18. Enemies are still incredibly cowardly, sad to see this bug is back in every single update anew.
  19. Please no. Answer to useless and funless feature bloat is not making even more but taking a step back. This game really did not gained anything meaningful with mines and subs, features like fuel and flaws are actively hampering not only fun but also further development for basically no gain, and things like barrel lenght are so problematic to balance after months of active tries they should be toned down (also note months of developing this one feature without much success while guns bigger than 380 mm are still basically unusable which was not adressed at all).
  20. Sorry for shouting but this crap is been for so long as i remember, and devs ignore it despite numerous people telling them to fix this and it's became crippling after the world map has been implemented: SHIPS ARE STILL RETURNING TO RANDOM PORTS AFTER BATTLE, TRY TO PLAY AS RUSSIA AND GET YOUR SHIPS MAGICALLY TELEPORTED FROM VLADIVOSTOK TO KRONSHTADT!!! JFC there are tons of bugs, design flaws and bad features from older versions still in the game, feedback gets ignored and instead devs implement more and more mechanics that not only (surprise surprise) are bugged too, but are outright antifun.
  21. Except new map and empires i really can't name even a single one feature that is necessary and/or fun. I know it's beta so barely anything works, but the game is currently bleeding from the 1000 cuts of design flaws.
  22. For a game with this much of calculations, its inability to count to 12 is slightly worrying: Also making ships in 1890 has been for some reason much worse than in last versions, you can barely fit anything.
  23. While you're right it would also be nice if the game wasn't so full of feature bloat already, like the gun lenght which actively worsened it and required months of fixing (and it's still crap) or the completely needless subs.
