I would like to be able to set my main guns to AP and my secondary guns to HE at the same time

Ok so what do I do to switch over to the steam version then?

Having a [hunt for targets] mode to set the AI to would be nice. [Scout] would fit the role well rather than having it just be a wider screen mode. That would not need the player to figure out why they keep missing their target in the mist.

I just want this ready to move to steam if only so that I can do things like brows the internet while stuff loads

So if I want the game to load when doing something else I need to download a second program then? Thats very annoying.

What even is that menu? I can't even find it to enable the game in the background.

First Casemates: CSS Virginia took some outside the box thinking. I had to ignore the 'lesson' and just put as big as possible guns on top of the ships 'back' so they would work as turrets and could always fire.

I have had lots of success from using lots of small secondary guns. On anything big enough I need AP they can maul superstructure and on anything I don't I set my guns to use HE and they burn anything too close to my big ships. Remember HE can cause fires even on blocked 0 dmg shots and TBs have no real armor to speak of anyway.

I just did the [Hurry Up] mission and couldn't hit the target number of kills because the "never retreats" enemy picked a direction and sailed for the sunset never to return. I then spent about an hour and a half sailing around searching for them made no easier by the vague direction the 'smoke' was coming from and not telling me what ship that direction is in relation to. Still when time runs out I get back to the mission select and it says I finished the mission successfully. I don't even.
