This is typical example of discussion on internet where you don't address the point the other party raises and instead just come with new stuff.

Steam site you link to, explaining what keys are (like nobody knew that before?) has 0 relevance for kick back devs have to give to steam and how customers will behave or invalidates other obligations outlined in partner program.  It even underlines that you can't give lower price on other store fronts than steam which makes those fronts irrelevant because 99% of players will just buy the game on steam if they want it there. This idea that you can sell steam keys and bypass giving kickback to steam is not realistic.

Again, why has not Game Labs, with experience of launching 3-4 games on Steam opted to go with steam launcher for UAD from get go? Because they are stupid or do they actually know something your average forum user don't?

me? I'm arguing the same thing since the beginning: it's not true that steam 30% cut is mandatory for all sales, both link provided supports this fact. and you writing longer and longer headcanon arguing whatever point you might think I'm making doesn't change that fact.

Please never take a job in Biz Dev or legal fields.

I am gonna put this in real simple terms:

    1:

I put this on steam - I have to sell through the steam.

I sell it through the steam - I need to give steam a cut.

Where would new customers buy this product if they want in steam? Third party storefronts or steam itself? (rule 4 specify the pricing). Why do you think Game Labs, company that has 3-4 games on Steam, opted for third party solution for UAD?

    2:

This is not a early access title? And normal titles DONT have such limitations (regarding pricing) - sure provide the source.

You're just twisting meaning far beyond what the simple English sentence means. I don't know why you hold such a grudge, but keep living within your reality.

    like, go read yourself: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/keys

Please read Rules, section 3. They have to offer their sales through Steam if they offer EA on Steam. They can't bypass steam as store front in order to avoid 30% (or other percentage) cut.

If you have document indicating otherwise (not a reddit or forum post) I would really like to read it.

well if you change the sentences of course they mean whatever the hell you want them to mean. But no, the full sentence is: " If Steam enables your Early Access game, we expect you to have the Early Access game available for sale on the Steam store. Do not offer it for sale on Steam any later than you offer it anywhere else."

so the only limit is that it can be sold trough steam if it's sold on steam *later* than on other storefronts. If it's sold on other storefront at the same time or later on, it's all fine.

and that's only the policy for early access. normal titles don't have such limitations.

They're in a lose-lose situation really, if they don't release, everybody is going to HIT THE ROOF. If they do, and it's not ready, people are going to complain about bugs.

that's just because they've chosen to go with their own launcher, if they just used steam and allowed people to pick the version to play from the steam menu like any sane, sensible developer would have none of this thing about bug and unstable release would have mattered, i.e, Empyrion, I can play whatever version I want:

  5. aux engines: fair enough, if engines are well protected these can be left out

propeller shaft: they make the difference from a lucky hit to the rudder sending your bb to nowhere and keeping it in the fight, at least the first step seems beneficial

barbette: fair enough except if you use super heavy shells with charges with high flash fire chances, I or II can make the difference between a loss and a destroyed turret

reinforced bulkheads: fair enough, but they are useful if you go for a 0 extended belt/deck armor to keep large caliber fore/aft hits to propagate inside

anti flooding: same as bulkheads, they can be skipped unless you go for a true all-or-nothing, but I rarely go over anti-flooding I, compensating with tower with high repair bonuses

citadel: they can convert efficiently weight to cost, no much use otherwise, albeit either a citadel or a aux engine to preserve mobility can be nice

    shell weight: fair enough

    turret traverse: fair enough
